mine will be remembered as the summer of the fifty gazillion maths exams and the year all our arteries hardened.

Do I see light at the end of the tunnel?
I'll probably be bored rigid

HesMyLobster · 17/06/2018 22:40

Oh Ursula I feel your pain!
I hate the way some girls think that they "own" a certain style once they've bought it, and nobody else is allowed to wear it.

Fine if she designed some completely unique Couture gown and had it made especially for her . . . But if you buy a frock from a high street shop you've got to accept that others are going to be wearing similar, or even Shockthe same!

UrsulaPandress · 17/06/2018 22:49

I could say that DD would rock the look so much better than her friend but that would be bitchy.

HesMyLobster · 17/06/2018 22:58

Haha! Probably exactly why the friend is kicking up a fuss!

YippeeTeenager · 17/06/2018 23:18

Good luck everyone for the week ahead. 4 more exams for us so a bit of a slog and no let up with the revision all weekend. House looks like a bomb site as I’m not allowed to move anything or make a noise with the vacuum so I’m itching for a good clean through. I was allowed to open a few windows for an hour this afternoon which was just in the nick of time, before we all ran out of oxygen Grin I’ve been really trying to cut down on my alcohol intake (don’t drink that much but just making an effort to be a bit healthier) but have to admit that went out the window this evening with a couple of large glasses of wine!

UrsulaPandress · 17/06/2018 23:29

Wine always helps.

Downeyhouse · 18/06/2018 05:25

Good luck to everyone with exams this week and I hope the papers are kind.

Sorry to hear the dress woes continue Ursula. Quite agree that the other girl should lump it!!!

Well after 3 nights out partying ds needs to his the revision again this week.

No exams this week but 3 the week after.
When I may get out dining table back which is still covered in piles of notes.

6 weeks and counting of eating every meal at the breakfast bar!

May the week ahead illness and tear free.

GnomeDePlume · 18/06/2018 05:49

Best wishes to everyone this week. For us it is the week of many maths papers plus the final chemistry paper.

Just to add t the mix we are waiting on DD1's final degree results. In case I want to stress about something different!

marmiteloversunite · 18/06/2018 06:57

Good luck all for the exams this week!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/06/2018 07:01

Wine may, or may not have been a part of my night last night too!

Yikes Gnome, that's scary!

Good luck everyone. A lot of exams today by the look of things. dd is safely out of the house. I'm not going to miss these early starts.

Good luck to everyone'sDC. DD has biology 3 this morning. She has got so bored of revising the same subjects over and over that she says she feels saturated.

Icouldbeknitting · 18/06/2018 07:24

Much sneezing this morning. From memory the prescription he had in Y10 didn't really nail the hay fever either.

HesMyLobster · 18/06/2018 07:39

Hope the hay fever subsides a bit Knitting, it must be miserable trying to concentrate on anything with constant sneezing.
Lonicera my DD said similar at the weekend - she has reached the point where nothing else will go in!

Good Luck all for today 🍀

LoniceraJaponica · 18/06/2018 07:59

"she has reached the point where nothing else will go in!"

That is exactly what DD said yesterday. Not much revision got done this weekend.

raspberryrippleicecream · 18/06/2018 08:03

Good luck to everyone with exams today.

Main stress here has been whether to go to Leavers' Assembly on Friday afternoon!

marmiteloversunite · 18/06/2018 08:13

Just dropped DD off for the music exam. She is very nervous. Most she has been for this whole thing. Just hope she doesn't panic and reads the questions properly! Will be waiting for the text after 11.30!!
Good luck all. Smile

lashingsofgingerbeer · 18/06/2018 08:47

Geography Paper 3 for DD here as we speak! She's worried about the 9 marker, but also says she can't absorb anymore now. I derived great pleasure from clearing out a huge pile of exam paperwork from DD's room & into the recycling container last night Grin

Good luck everyone - here's hoping those papers are nice ones for them all!

marmiteloversunite · 18/06/2018 08:58

I am itching to clear out DD's room!! It is such a mess even her sister helped her tidy it yesterday to find some revision notes!

Just trying to take my mind off music papers and perusing amazon to see if you can buy non-iron bedding/duvet covers? Is that a thing?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/06/2018 09:02

dd's room is beginning to cave in under the pressure too.

I think that everything that claims to be non iron depends on how you treat them when they are drying and how you/they fold (or scrunch) them after Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/06/2018 09:03

I heard dd coughing in the night. I woke up bolt upright. She doesn't even remember it!

lashingsofgingerbeer · 18/06/2018 09:05

Marmite I was itching to clear more out too & dust, but DD was adamant nothing else to go yet!

I must confess to never ironing bed linen Shock All I do know is the higher the thread count on bedding the worse it is for creasing/needing ironing. I tend to stick to M&S & Ikea

marmiteloversunite · 18/06/2018 09:06

OYBBK I am the same with night noises. Even if they go to the loo in the night I think they are ill. Which is ridiculous when I think of how many times I go to the loo in the night! Oh the joys of anxiety!

lashingsofgingerbeer · 18/06/2018 09:06

& like Kitten says, hanging it up as soon as wash finished

lashingsofgingerbeer · 18/06/2018 09:15

DD sitting Biology Paper 3 now, not Geography! brain addled by too many exams now!
