All welcome no matter which path your dc have chosen.

Dc had maths and economics today. Economics was tough, and maths ok.

Starfleet Eid Mubarak Flowers

Another germophobe, panicky mother here. I work in a very germy environment and am currently changing all outer clothes as soon as I come in the front door. I also have DH on standby for exam days as I can't leave work easily if DD has a car problem.

TBF on the latter, the first day of AS exams we had a frantic phonecall from DD's friend, who needed to drive her sister to her AS exam and couldn't start her car. She was unable to contact her parents. So I actually felt justified with my already thought out plan for exam days.

DD was not happy at all with her mechanics exam, have reminded her in the scheme of things it doesn't matter.

Congratulations to everyone who has finished and survived, and to those of us who have survived another week! Gin

Thesearepearls · 15/06/2018 20:55

Eid Mubarak!

Work was very quiet today. DS had a lot of fun in his maths exams - always good to see them coming out chipper. He's out tonight with his GF - they've both been working too hard IMHO - so it's good to see them taking time out.

Have a super weekend all :)

flatmouse · 15/06/2018 23:03

@Nettleskeins ancient history. In hindsight I think he'd have preferred classic civ as more about the gods which interested him.

starfleet · 16/06/2018 00:24

Thank you all.

I ate my body weight in cake and then struggled to move for the evening! We managed to get DS to stay downstairs long enough have his photo taken with all of his much younger cousins who come up to about his knees - this was a small miracle as he hates having his photo taken!

HardwickWhite · 16/06/2018 00:25

I thought I was handling this ok, but I just sobbed, proper gaspy sobs at the last episode of Flowers. DD has 4 I think to go, and after tonight’s performance I seriously doubt my ability to hold it together in the last assembly.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/06/2018 07:57

awww Hardwick. Flowers

That's going to be a photo to remember starfleet :)

We are all having a day off today and heading out to the countryside for a nice long walk once dd wakes up. It may take her a while, she managed to very nearly fall asleep standing up last night.

I've finally caught up with you all.

I'm very jealous of all the finished people. Dd is very jealous of all the cooked breakfasts, she fends for herself in the mornings, if it's in the kitchen she can eat it. She mostly takes a cereal bar and sine fruit to eat on the walk/run to school.

Dd still has chemistry 3 and 2 Maths exams to do (D1 for single maths, and M2 for further maths). She has made the decision not to revise for the maths exams because her calculations about ums and grade boundaries tell her that these last 2 modules can't make a difference to her overall grades (she's predicting herself an A* for single maths and a B for further maths, and she's generally pretty good at knowing how well she's done in maths exams). So all her energy (not that she's got much energy left) is being put into chemistry.

PandaG · 16/06/2018 09:17

Morning all and Eid Mubarak! Well done to all the finishers, and keep going for all those still got more to go.

DS happy with the maths papers yesterday, best further paper he has sat so far, but who knows if it will be good enough? He doesn't finish until a week on Monday...

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/06/2018 09:40

We can keep each other company til the 25th Panda :)

MsAwesomeDragon · 16/06/2018 09:55

Dd finishes a week on Monday too. So I'll still be here sometimes.

Eid Mubarak Cake

NoHaudinMaWheest · 16/06/2018 10:45

starfleet glad you got a good photo. Dd hates having her photo taken too.

I am another one not finishing until the 25th. It seems an eternity since they started.

OYBBK enough your walk.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/06/2018 11:09

It does NoHaudin. Thanks :)

Eid Mubarak Starfleet - eating your body weight in cake right now seems a good thing! CakeCake

One more exam tomorrow & we're done!!! Just taking it easy today as still feeling unusually tired. DD has already booked to see a local gig, nightclubbing & pub meet up to name a few things. I don't blame them all after being holed up in their respective revision caves for so long. Looking forward to chucking out all the paperwork in the recycling bin & tidying the She Cave - cathartic therapy after the intensity!

Wishing everyone good luck for the next few rounds of exams & in particular Fantasy & Knitting - how your DC have got through this during such a personally tough time is nothing short of a miracle & testamount to both your DC & yourselves.

Hardwick you know it's going to be emotional! Think a lot of us are feeling it too with school/exams coming to the final furlong!

PandaG · 16/06/2018 12:39

Several of us with over a week to go! All the best. :)

UrsulaPandress · 16/06/2018 13:04

Haven't seen Fantasy on here for a few days. How do you tag people?

LoniceraJaponica · 16/06/2018 13:37

Hi @FantasyAndHope. Some of us have been thinking of you and hope you and your DD are OK.

littledrummergirl · 16/06/2018 13:49

Ds1 still has biology 3 and chemistry 3 so he finishes Wednesday. He received his accommodation pack today and has sensibly said he will look at it when exams are over.

LoniceraJaponica · 16/06/2018 13:51

DD has exactly the same littledrummergirl. She seems to have taken her foot off the pedal regarding revision. I hope she doesn't regret it.

FantasyAndHope · 16/06/2018 16:21

I’m here! Hope all is well I’m slowing catching up
Dd had no exams Thursday Friday spent it in bed all day except Friday afternoon when she went to a spin class at the gym
She’s been to the gym today
Is slowly recovering but exercise helps her and period pain. And she has quite a high temperature throughout her period so sweating kind of sweats it out of her quicker.
I suspect she’ll do some hardcore revision tonight and tomorrow ready for her final 2 exams Monday and Tuesday
Thankyou for all the well wishes!

UrsulaPandress · 16/06/2018 16:29

Glad you are both coping! DD didn't surface until almost lunchtime today, although she did say she had been reading revision stuff in bed.

Her hayfever is really bad today but we have just had a huge downpour so hopefully that might clear the air a bit.

Icouldbeknitting · 16/06/2018 16:36

Peak sneezing was yesterday for us, even I started and that's not usual. Today has been a lot better

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/06/2018 16:41

We got out for a lovely walk, though the rain and wind closed in and we had to turn back early.

DS1 finally sent off his medical evidence for his DSA application.

He has his last exam on Tuesday and then his first driving lesson on Wednesday.

Nettleskeins · 16/06/2018 20:25

ds1 has been watching the football again [sigh] although he went to a revision session in school this morning.
Dd has suffered a sort of stress reaction to the exams being over (gsces) and is crying and saying her nose is too big (class photos) and that she cannot bear the thought of opening the results and seeing 3's and 5's. (where she got the 3's from I do not know) after she worked so hard. I feel a bit cross as ds hasn't even finished and she is already stealing the show. She will do fine. Unlike a sibling I could mention Hmm
Fantasy glad your dd got through the last few days
