I’m here. I’ll catch up
Dd hasn’t done any revision. Very tired. Gynaecology told her she was obese and she’s a size 10-12 broad shouldered and big boobed
I wouldn’t class her as ‘obese’. Apparently that will solve her period issues
They are going to test her for endometriosis which is a positive
Dd did decide to have a ‘lifestyle change’ as she had noticed a weight gain but nothing to make her obese. She’s actually been eating significantly under the recommended calorie intake which could be why her weight has increased as her body is going into ‘starvation mode’. She’s joined the gym for a confidence boost as issues at school are no better.
I’ve attached a photo (will delete later)
It’s ludicrous! But she’s looking forward to spin classes and cardio workout
But I will catch up (I’m not ignoring any of you)

Hello - thanks for the OYBBK.

We don’t have a garage but we do have a Big Shed of Doom. One day I’d like to knock it down and have a Scandinavian style summer house. In the meantime we pretend it’s a scandi summer lodge and have painted it red and given it a white trim.

DS has gone out tonight. I think I would need several drinks too if I was sitting an A level physics paper on Monday.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/06/2018 20:05

How are they going to test for endo Fantasy?

Maybe I'll paint our shed red too. hmmmm.
dd has physics on Monday as well. what joy! All of her friends have gone into lock down mode with revision.

Dd has physics on Monday too. She's in her bedroom, possibly revising, possibly doing something else.

Lucycat · 01/06/2018 20:08

I'm here too, usually lurking in the Oxford thread but who knows what will happen in August!
DD has just found a bit of the geography spec that's not been taught so had a little meltdown - as I teach the course we've just had an impromptu revision session 😂 just what I feel like doing on a Friday night 😮 but needs must.

More chocolate required upstairs

raspberryrippleicecream · 01/06/2018 20:22

DD in chirpy mood tonight as she got an A on her C3 past paper this afternoon!

I was thinking how nice it was not having DC with exams in May, (which we had 5 years running), then realised poor DS1 was in the middle of 2nd year Physics exams at uni! Much easier at a distance.

He has last Physics exam, of about 10, on Monday.

TheThirdOfHerName · 01/06/2018 20:31

Thank you Kitten for the new thread and chocolate for the tag.

DS1's exams start on Monday. I'll be glad to get the blooming things over with.

Downeyhouse · 01/06/2018 20:36

Evening all,

That photo shows a lovely slim girl - no way is she obese. How Ridiculous!

Friday night and ds is revising the accession process for EU countries. Poor kid it is dull as dishwater.

Had his last revision session at school today.

First written exam on Monday. He has English, French and Higher Maths next week.

He got a good boost this week. He needs an 80% average overall for his firm choice. 50% goes on the exams coming up now and 50% from this year’s class work, mid year exams, essays, tests and homework.

For his first 50% he has exceeded what he needs by a few Percent. Means he has a little wiggle room and is feeling under less pressure but still working hard.

Can’t wait to reclaim my weekends and not spend them making endless cups of tea and debating various examination subjects!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/06/2018 21:21

I hope that the visa issues sort themselves out.

I'm here.

We have a garage - never used to park cars though. It houses the dryer, a freezer, garden furniture, DS's punch bag and is mainly used for storing any old shite that we haven't got round to throwing away or "that will come in handy" (it never does).

DS has had a bit of a meltdown this afternoon. He is not convinced he will pass his A Levels and worries that he hasn't a plan in place if he doesn't. I have tried to convince him that there are options that can be worked through after he gets his results and it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Fantasy - what are they talking about? She certainly isn't obese.

LoniceraJaponica · 01/06/2018 22:10

We have a garage, and surprise surprise - we actually keep a car in it!

marmiteloversunite · 01/06/2018 22:24

Thank you for the kind birthday wishes. Had a lovely day and managed to get both DDs out for cake this morning and dinner tonight. Even got driven home by DD1 so DH and I could both have a drink. Perks of all of those driving lessons!

chocolateworshipper · 01/06/2018 22:27

DD had people shouting and swearing at her today. Yeah - cos an 18 year-old on a till is personally responsible for your card not working (and everyone's across Europe) Angry

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/06/2018 22:31

That's not on at all Chocolate. Your poor dd.

OP posts:
marmiteloversunite · 01/06/2018 22:41

Oh chocolate. Poor girl. That's not nice!

DD2 makes me laugh. She is learning quotes for end of year 10 exams, an Inspector calls. Instead of rote learning she has dressed up as each character and made a snap chat video with squeaky voice to help her remember the quotes. As a child with processing difficulties it is great seeing her try very alternative methods to remember very dry quotes! She is walking around with a beard drawn onto her chin in eye pencil! Grin

starfleet · 01/06/2018 22:42

Happy Birthday marmite!

That was a bit rubbish for her chocolate - DS works in retail so can sympathise. He always has a tale to tell when he gets home from work. People are strange!

chocolateworshipper · 01/06/2018 22:43

Am so annoyed I've started a thread about it in AIBU. I'll probably get flamed, but what the hell!

TheThirdOfHerName · 01/06/2018 22:47

chocolate how horrible for her.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/06/2018 23:04

That's novel marmite Grin

UrsulaPandress · 01/06/2018 23:12

I've got through Othello. Yeah

That's shit chocolate. Nothing like customer facing to see the world.

Way to go marmite. Love hearing how dcs deal with things.

likelyLilac · 01/06/2018 23:17

poor her chocolate in my dim and distant past as a chashier I once cried when a woman shouted at me, suffice to say I didn't last long in that job Grin
marmiteloversunite thats so sweet, and a very clever thing to do, i don't think i've ever heard of that technique!
DDs feeling awful today, very worried about physics monday and especially friday as well as chemistry on tuesday. she's also trying not to worry about FP2 on wednesday, I feel so bad for her, such a stressful week.
