Well this is it, one week today our little one meets his new mummy

I'm busy washing all his cuddly toys cos some of them are so grungyI'd be ashamed to send them with him

He's having a sleep at the moment and I'm imagining what it will be like when he goes, I know I'm going to miss him like crazy but it's long past the time he should have moved. I hope it all goes smoothly and he really "takes to her"

Oh Flower, am full of admiration for you

BBBee · 25/07/2008 08:50

I cannot tell you how much I admire you.

I was working in a hospital once and there was an abandoned baby who was going throuhg drugs withdrawal and I was observing an assessment. When it was over I unprofessionally broke down over the child's situation. The nurse comforted me and reassured me that there were "some of the most wonderful people in the world out there who take these poor little babies and give them safety and love while we find thm a permanent home."

It helped me a lot and it is so nice to be able to have 'spoken' (!) to one of thse 'most wonderful people'.

I wish you peace and comfort over the coming days. You have given another person a wonderful start in life.

mamadiva · 25/07/2008 08:55

Flwer have just read through this thread again. That's great what your doing with LO, showing him his mummy it must be so hard for you to say as youv'e been his mummy for so long. . I hope you enjoy your last weekend together for now. And for the record about you not taki9ng the other baby in. I don't blame you you are not a robot, you can't just move from child to child you need time to adjust and get used to thing. Shocking how they take advantage. But anyway all my love and support for you these days.

NorthernLurker · 25/07/2008 09:01

I've seen many women telling their story on mumsnet where I've thought 'wow I couldn't have done that but maybe if I had to I could' but with you - I know I couldn't do what you are doing and I just want to let you know how admirable I think it is. This little boy will benefit all his life because of the loving start you have given him. Loving someone so well, caring and planning and sacrificing for him is the essence of parenthood. Oh pants I'm crying now!

itati · 25/07/2008 20:28

Sulks thaat no one noticed my post and sys hope it happens for Flower3554.

ladytophamhatt · 26/07/2008 08:13

Itati, I missed your earlier post but just read it. I am sorry.
What a lovely thing to happen for both you and the the FPs.

Have you been in touch with any others?

I bet letters like yours mean so much to them.

How are you this morning Flower?

Flower3554 · 26/07/2008 08:50

Hi lth, I'm ok, bit emotional though

I had a visit from lo's social worker yesterday and yet again the silly unthoughtful woman has taken my breath away with her insensitivity

Her plan is to accompany lo and his new mum on the train when intro's are over, she actually had the unmittigated gaul (sp) to ask if I'd make them a packed lunch for the train

"why of course" I replied "its not like I have anything else to think about on his last day is it"
Bleeping woman

Can someone point me to itata's post, can't seem to find the one she means

I recently wrote to the set of foster parents and a family of befrienders that I knew when I was 6 and thanked them for all they did. I was touched they remembered me and had kepy photos of me for 30 years.

Just further down this thread flower.

xx

Flower3554 · 26/07/2008 09:39

What a lucky little boy and what an amazing lady you are Flower.

You will definitely be going to heaven

Flower3554 · 26/07/2008 16:23

We have had a fantastic day today, just stayed home and played in the garden, nothing special but we had so much fun.

Lo is filthy, absolutely filthy but he has laughed and giggled all day. I'm going to file today in my thank you god box.

Off to soak him in domestos now, ok bubble bath but you get the idea. I think he will sleep soundly tonight, I know I will

Flower, what you are doing for all the LOs you foster takes my breath away.

So glad you've had a lovely day today and I hope things go well over the next week for you.

Cannot believe how insensitive your SW is being.

You're an incredibly special person and I am humbled by you.

itati · 27/07/2008 20:24

Good luck for tomorrow.

I hope it goes okay for you all.

Well today's the day

Funny thing happened last night, my DD was here for supper and she helped me bath the babies.

I gave LO his bedtime milk and DD offered to take him to bed while I fed other LO. I gave him a kiss and passed him to her and I waved night night to him.

He only went and waved back at me

I've been trying for months to get him to wave and he's never ever done it before.

I'm afraid I lost it completelyI broke down and sobbed for England.

Poor DD didn't know quite what to do with me

His new mummy rang last night and she's so excited and can't wait to meet him

This will be such an emotional day but I'm going to give it my best shot (trembling lip smiley needed)

Keep the vibes and hugs coming xxx
