Some of you may have read my thread about my neighbours, I am feeling so drained and tired, DH is in deep depression and won't leave the house, I am trying to keep things as normal for the kids as possible, but they are wondering why daddy won't take them to school etc, I feel like I have been hit by a hammer, and can't do this much more, waiting for the comminutty policeofficer to phone me so I can get a letter so we can move as an emergnacy, the kids are fighting and screaming and I keep crying,

but if we get a letter from the police and GP I can get on Homeless list.

Have you tried approaching the HAs direct? I don't know about Herts - maybe it's a policy or a joint application process but the HA I work for definately takes direct applications (i.e. you don't apply via the Council). Having said that getting 'Statutory Homeless' category which carries more points would have to come from the Council and they will still want 'evidence' of your situation. Might be worth ringing a few of the local HAs (Lettings Dept) though and asking them.

took DS to school, am crapping myslef about picking him up.......

sparklymieow · 20/05/2005 11:35

Just phoned every HA in the area and they all said you have to be nomatined through the council, apart from one, but their lists are closed atm

OP posts:
Magscat · 20/05/2005 11:48

Sorry to hear that Sparkly - are you interested in areas outside Herts? How come the Council aren't slapping the git with an ASBO anyway ? Heard any more from the police?

sparklymieow · 20/05/2005 12:24

no still waiting for the police to get back to me AGAIN!! The council won't do anything until I send in the log sheets but I am scared to do that because it will make the matters worse. I don't know what to do, TBH.just feel lost IYKWIM. We have said that we will go anywhere is needed.

Hi Sparkly. Just looked up Bedfordshire HAs and this site says teh Council is needed for a nomination to a new home but there's a list of HAs that will take direct applications for existing houses (i.e. not newly built).

I don't know if this is any use to you.

sparklymieow · 20/05/2005 12:36

a lot of those are the same HA for this area.

OP posts:
Magscat · 20/05/2005 12:40

Here's a site that lets you search on an area & gives you a list of all the HAs there.
Again, might not help much but worth a try.

Do you have relatives in any area you might want to move to ? Some HAs will give extra points for 'wanting to be near family' as a reason for moving.

Sorry if this isn't helping. Feel for you. xx

I have SIL in Bolton and FIL in Poole, the councils there both have a bidding scheme and its very odd way of doing it TBH. I could get a portity(sp??) card with Poole council because we hav disabled kids and need to move for antisocial reasons. But Bolton doesn't have that option.

Don't know why people that are let of prison aren't given a ASBO straight away, it would stop a lot of this happening, wouldn't it? Especially ones that were done for breaking and entering, violent and intimidation.

Hi Sparkly. Hope you're evening is going ok. Never heard of a bidding scheme but sounds like Poole might be worth investigating if you really want to move that far. It's supposed to be a lovely part of the country but I can't speak from experience -never been

Glad you didn't get hassled earlier anyway & hope it's stayed that way tonight.

sparklymieow · 20/05/2005 22:25

Nice and quiet again, have noticed that Apeman isn't about as much, hope his parents have told him to f*ck off, maybe one of the other neighbours has said to the parents about our agurment outside and that the police were called,

sparklymieow · 21/05/2005 13:23

sparklymieow · 21/05/2005 17:40

its ok atm, girls have Chicken pox so can't do a lot anyway, but have sorted put our bedroom and put new curtains up,
I want AM to crawl off and die somewhere, or go back inside...... I can dream atm.....

OP posts:
jjash · 21/05/2005 17:51

ooh sorry about the chickenpox send some of those germs next door if you can! Hope it stays quiet for you .

sparklymieow · 21/05/2005 17:55

it is quiet but its still scary walking outside..... Dh went out the other day and he felt sick when he came back don't think I'll get him outside again for a while. I so want to go round to see the parents and explain to them that this has been reported to the council and that if their sons don't leave us alone, they risk losing their home.

OP posts:
jjash · 21/05/2005 18:01

well see how it goes and maybe that is still an option? A nice polite letter to play on their guilt! I am hoping that lovely Mr Apeman has a very short attention span and will go find something else to do with himself and leave you alone .
Or he may get crushed under one of his own weights......that would be good huh?

sparklymieow · 23/05/2005 16:46

UPDATE!!!!!!!

Have found out from a new neighbour who knows the mother of AM's son that they are defo. going back inside soon!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 23/05/2005 16:54

I still want to move because i don't want to be here when they are released but it will give me more time to get onto the council...

OP posts:
FIMAC1 · 23/05/2005 17:37

SparkyMeiow

SO pleased to hear that they are eventually going to be detained by HMS - probably has been mentioned before, but can't they move the family - rather than you having to move?

hub2dee · 23/05/2005 18:23

This is fab news.

Hope they get sent down for a long rather than a short time, and not tagged and released etc.

sparklymieow · 23/05/2005 18:57

and the other bloke we had problems with a few months back (beat up DH on our doorstep) has also been put back into prison!!!! Things can only get better!!!!!!! yehyehyeh!!
