Some of you may have read my thread about my neighbours, I am feeling so drained and tired, DH is in deep depression and won't leave the house, I am trying to keep things as normal for the kids as possible, but they are wondering why daddy won't take them to school etc, I feel like I have been hit by a hammer, and can't do this much more, waiting for the comminutty policeofficer to phone me so I can get a letter so we can move as an emergnacy, the kids are fighting and screaming and I keep crying,

When do you expect DH home?

Does he have a mobile?

sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 13:41

no sorry, Dh came home about 1/2 hour ago.

DEFFO BRILL

Is he OK?

Does he feel pleased with himself?

Magscat · 19/05/2005 14:10

Sparkly - apologies for not having read all of the thread but re. the HA - are they refusing to re-house you or just dragging their heels or just saying they don't have any appropriate houses free? (I.e. nothing available in the area you want & the right size).

I work for an HA. I'm not here to defend them (we don't have any property in Herts so I know you're not in the same one I work for). Have you been dealing with the Lettings Officers or your Housing Officer ? I know that some Housing staff are great and others are crap. What seems to work for some of our residents is contacting the Head Office - they often have a Customer Services Manager there who takes a more sympathetic view and can be more objective. Have you tried that? Having said that, if they really have no property available that won't help you. Are you serious about moving to other parts of the country? THe HA might have links with other HAs who could help you out if you ask them.

sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 16:01

well apeman has parked his car straight across the drive again..... the street is clear so there is no need for it. The council are refusing to move us because they think it will all blow over. Nearly 2 weeks since mum asked him to be quiet and he is still terrorising us. What a tosser.

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 16:24

just spoke to the housing officer againa nd he said they can't do anything until I start sending in the log sheets, I am scared to do that coz it will make the matters worse......

OP posts:
RTKangaMummy · 19/05/2005 16:28

Sorry don't know anything about housing exchanges but thought would bump anyway

sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 16:31

I'm so scared of what they will do if I take it further with the council, as they will know its come from here........

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 16:36

I have been keeping DS off school the last two days because I can't face picking him up..... so scared.....

Unfortunately, sparkly, you need to go through this 'pain barrier' to get something to happen.

There are probably any number of people close to them who could have complained, so they won't necessarily know it's you.

I think even if they did know it was you, I doubt they would do anything other than continue to take the piss and be nasty. (Although I again say only you can make this decision weighing up the risks).

If you're sick of living like this, and let's face it it's impacting dh's health, your sanity and the kids' schooling, I think you do need to do something.

just phoned the police and she is flagging up the incident with the Surgent (sp??) as to why a threat to life was put as a civil dispute. She said I sound at the end of my thether, TOO RIGHT!!! She is going to ask someone to phone me, but she said that if the music starts or he parks across th div, I can jus phone and log it with them, and noone will come out but it gives us more fighting info.

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 17:18

I have good days and bads days, can you tell??

OP posts:
hub2dee · 19/05/2005 17:21

FANTASTIC SPARKLY !

Make sure you note this woman's name as she sounds like she has her head screwed on !

Chase her up tomorrow, thank her for her effort, and tickle her to see what the sergeant suggested.

YOU GO GIRL ! GET THIS MESS SORTED !

It's brilliant she also suggested you log the 'smaller' stuff and that she understands sending round a squad car might not necessarily be the best way of securing your family's safety.

Discuss with her logging all the incidents to date 'retrospectively' IYSWIM. Maybe not by phone, but face to face at the station. Maybe she can simply take one statement from you and it will ALL be on file ?

Also chase GP so you have that too, and you can 'officially' support your claims to the Police / Housing people.

sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 17:26

have gone through this thread and written down all the dates, do you think i should print this of...

OP posts:
hub2dee · 19/05/2005 17:34

Dates AND TIMES.

I don't think they would want / need to read the thread, but you could save it to your hard drive just in case something terrible happens to the MN server and certain convos were lost.

Just do three columns - Date - Time - Incident and note what apeman did / said.

The best thing to assist the police in helping protect you / act on your behalf, I think, will be the GPs 'statement of impact' (I made that phrase up, I'm not sure what the GP can or can't help with in terms of documentation, but you've posted your GP was v. helpful and so I expect he could do a letter attesting to your / dh's ill-health / mental anxiety / loss of appetite / depression / need for ADs / relationship impact etc. etc. etc.) Get on to your GP even for a 'short' emergency appt.

sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 17:38

I was kidding..... feels sick again today.....

OP posts:
hub2dee · 19/05/2005 17:41

What are you kidding about ?

Not sure I understand...

sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 17:46

about printing this off, I think I will save both threads to my harddrive tho. I can't believe this is still going on.... why oh why... what did I do to deserve this?? I am a friendly, polite person and I just want a quiet live... Don't want to live in contant worry that they might do something... I have noticed they aren't yelling abuse or threatenin us now, but they are playing their music very loud and parking across the drive, What if I needed to get to the hospital or doctors fast? I would have to ask them to move and then they will start again.... no win situation

OP posts:
hub2dee · 19/05/2005 17:57

OK. Didn't understand the printing thing.

But Sparkly, you can't post your way out of your situation !!! (I saw your other thread re the car).

USE THE POLICE.

That's what they're there for !

Only being firm to get your ass in gear, hun.

I'm really glad you got a positive response fromt the woman you spoke to. If in doubt, PHONE AGAIN so you have free access to your drive.

sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 18:17

just wanted to be sure of the law re. driveways... I know I can't post my way out of this, and I am trying to get us moved, and the council are aware of the situation, and so are the police, its hard when noone seems to be listening to you.......

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 18:41

he has moved his car now.....

OP posts:
hub2dee · 19/05/2005 18:58

I know Sparkly. You've done brill so far for sure.

Get your cards lined up and things will start to happen. Keep pushing. I know it's hard.

hub2dee · 19/05/2005 19:01

GP GP GP. Need to get the GP on board. Squeeze a written statement out of him if you can.

Magscat · 19/05/2005 20:23

Hi Sparkly - the Housing Officer will be wanting evidence so he can justify any points they give you that help you get a move - they have to be able to prove they are completely fair in all their housing allocations.
It might be worth asking them to come out and interview you at home as part of their evidence that you now have a medical need to move because it's making you and your family ill i.e. it should be obvious to them. Get that GP's letter as supporting evidence too and the police log number for the incident you reported should help loads.

If you feel there's just a lack of sympathy there it might still be worth speaking to a Customer Support person or if they have a separate Lettings Dept then direct with them.

Sorry - I'm not clear are you with the Council or an HA? Have they said that they have houses available & they need to assess your application or are they saying there's nothing suitable available.

If I can think of anything else I'll come back.

sparklymieow · 19/05/2005 21:40

we are council tenats, we have lots of HA in the area which you have to go through the council to get IYKWIM. The council are saying they have no houses that would be suitable for DS and DD1 needs (they have cerebral palsy) I have said I will take anything atm, and put up my own stair rails and grap bars if needed. I am not on the list atm, but have the forms here.
