Probability of fingering causing pregnancy

Please do not shame me, I’m feeling terrible and my mental health is in shambles. Here are the facts before I ask question…..

-40 YO
-2 kids conceived super easy (11 & 13)
-In between birth controls (iud next month)
day 15 of cycle (ovulating according to chart)
-partner and I opted NOT to have intercourse since we knew I am ovulating.

I’m pretty sure some semen was on his fingers when he touched me. we don’t know 100% he says not but I did see him “handle himself a few times” So yes I know yes it’s theoretically a possibility if sperm is near vagina BUT statistically how likely? I’m ready everything from “haha your an idiot it’s impossible” to “that’s how my cousin conceived”.
Im terribly concerned. Loosing sleep and can’t eat. I cannot be pregnant at this time due to mental health concerns and my marriage is failing heading to a divorce. My anxiety is sky high and I’m all over the map from convinced to knowing it’s improbable. Next two weeks will be hell waiting.
Facts that I have come across online.

At 39 my chance of becoming pregnant TRYING is only about 5-6%.
If we had gone as fas as withdrawal (did not just using this as a thought) It’s 4% chance of pregnancy. Adding those two things together gives me odds less than 0, correct?

Going nuts…..

Please help me.

The morning after pill basically prevents you from ovulating if you're due to in the next few days. OP says she's already ovulated within the last day or so, so the pill won't do anything to prevent something that already happened.

I reckon the chances are incredibly low OP. Obviously none of us can say for sure, and I'm sure the next couple of weeks are going to be hard to get through for you. Hope you can keep yourself busy and distracted and your period turns up on time.

BattenburgDonkey · 25/07/2022 21:23

Then you can get the copper coil now rather than in a few weeks and that’s effective as emergency contraception too.

missymarrk · 25/07/2022 21:09

If you're getting yourself really worked up like this then defo lay off the willy for a bit until you're sorted for contraception.

More than likely not preggo.

Absolutely howling at “lay off the Willy” .

Like others have said, very very little chance you could pregnant but if it’ll stop you worrying get the morning after pill.

SylvanianFrenemies · 25/07/2022 21:24

Very, very, very low risk.
Sorry you are struggling with anxiety.

RedCarsGoFaster · 25/07/2022 21:25

I read this story in Just 17 when I was 12. That girl did get pregnant.

My DM confiscated the magazine and banned me from reading it again. I got in a LOT of trouble for reading such tat.

Stopthebusplease · 25/07/2022 21:25

Why on earth didn't you get the morning after pill during the next few days? It's supposed to be effective up to 5 days after, although the sooner you take it the better.

MountainVA · 25/07/2022 21:26

Yes I looked into that but bc I believe life begins at fertilization I cannot go through with the IUD coils for emergency as at blocks and already fertilized egg from implanting. That I my person and spiritual belief. I am okay at blocking sperm and egg from meeting but not after fertilization . I know it’s not the same for everyone.

I had already ovulated. It’s not effective if you have already ovulated as it prevents ovulation.

OP posts:
ShahRukhKhan · 25/07/2022 21:27

It is highly unlikely OP.

MountainVA · 25/07/2022 21:29

For those asking about plan B

” No morning-after pill works during ovulation, as they're designed to delay it. If ovulation is already happening, Plan B (or any other emergency contraceptive pill) will have failed before it's even begun.Sep 2, 2021”

But your OP says you’re due to get an IUD.
IUDs don’t prevent fertilisation, they prevent implantation.

namechange7654 · 25/07/2022 21:30

Honesty, it's negligible. I mean, someone will definitely be along in a minute to tell you that exactly this happened to them when they were 52 and hadn't even had a period for 3 years, but don't pay too much attention to that 😏

MountainVA · 25/07/2022 21:30

Wrote why in recent post. Are you saying you think there is a good chance this caused pregnancy 😞

MountainVA · 25/07/2022 21:30

Thank you!

Twixxed · 25/07/2022 21:30

I think it's highly, highly unlikely that you'll be pregnant. I know it's horrible waiting when you know the timing of a pregnancy would be terrible, but it sounds seriously unlikely to be the case here.

Oh I love this

Wearpantsffs · 25/07/2022 21:32

If you’re saying that your beliefs preclude you from having an IUD as emergency contraception, why would you use it as regular contraception?? It’s exactly the same mechanism.

Just all TMI.

TMI? No such thing here. It's all anonymous and people respond with total candour.

You probably rtft with interest, but as soon as you felt squeamish you should have just backed out rather than tell everyone it was TMI for you.

  1. No periods for 3 years. Have been shagging with gay abandon for years. Do I need to be worried?

“Lay off the Willy” I spat my tea out! Howling! 🤣🤣

MountainVA · 25/07/2022 21:33

Different. Copper Emergency IUD prevents implantation.
Hormonal IUD prevents ovulation this fertilization and thins lining.

weathervane1 · 25/07/2022 21:35

I'm sure that you won't be pregnant OP but to those who believe that pre-cum contains no sperm, that's simply not true and akin to "if I pull out it'll avoid pregnancy"... as many catholics will attest to. We're no longer in the 1970s with sepia relationship sex-ed films. And rather than contradict me, look up the fact please (to the poster who stated opposite to the actual facts). Do we really have to debate this (mass debate) in 2022? It's akin to 'my dad says condoms don't work and refused to use one'

Flyonthewall01 · 25/07/2022 21:35

I’m confused op. You say life begins at fertilisation but then make out the only reason you won’t take plan b as you’ve already ovulated so pointless. Surely that’s irrelevant as you don’t agree with taking plan b anyway?

Wearpantsffs · 25/07/2022 21:35

Nope. Suppresses, doesn’t prevent ovulation.

MumofSpud · 25/07/2022 21:37

Why is your marriage heading to a divorce and you are still having sex?
