Here's a new thread for us.

Hi guys great to see that you're still going strong Smile

Can I just sneak into the garden for a bit? Moving house in a week or two, stress getting things sorted mostly caused unnecessarily by other people. Stomach trouble, just been put on meds and banned from drinking the diet coke I'm addicted to - boohoo.

On the other hand mousling is progressing madly atm, has taught himself to crawl on all 4s at the age of 4 after tummy crawling for 3 years and can now walk holding one hand. Also speech coming along.

Hope you're all doing ok/coping.

Upwardandonward · 14/03/2012 13:19

Of course you can, madmouse - you don't need to ask :)

Lovely to hear how mousling is getting on, sounds good :)

I hope the house move goes as smoothly as it can - not the time that you need restrictions on coke/tummy troubles.

It looks a nice day, I'm thinking about going out later.

shodatin · 14/03/2012 17:33

Hi madmouse, good to see you again and to have such good news about mouseling - what a determined child he must be! Best wishes for the move, which is always stressful but I'd definitely use Bach Rescue Remedy again, and maybe even the Night Remedy if necessary.
Hope you're soon feeling well again (and that mouseling is looking forward to the move).

Hope you managed to get out today upward, and that there was enough sunshine to be enjoyable. Thanks for setting up another garden, and appreciate new name.

Upwardandonward · 14/03/2012 19:14

I got out for a walk, thanks shodatin Time is crawling at the moment, and I'm desperate for some independence but need to make haste slowly (or something ;) ).

I am worried how the scar will turn out, it's standing up about 1 cm from my skin because of how they've stitched it - looks like a long joint of meat tied with string. I guess it's to try and make it close, but that's not worked in places either.

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 14/03/2012 19:25

Brilliant to see you ,madmouse Oh noooo at stomach trouble coinciding with house move - just when you needed the caffeine < fellow addict > It is absolute poison , though , as people love to tell us smuglywhilst smoking /drinking / ccompulsively exercising.

What amazing , unbelievably fabulous news that to hear mouseling's progrress!! I literally couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the words " crawl on all 4s" but that he can now walk holding one hand - so , so thrilled for him

Hope you did indeed get a bit of time outdoors , upward ,or at least some more interesting audiobooks - do your county's libraries allow you to download them via the net ? < getting in over my head with these new-fangled ideas >

Good idea about resscue remedy , shodatin - I always urge peoplre to dilute it as it got me hooked on the old brandy for a bit ( psychologically hooked, that is )

[gri] I've had a look round the garden but no hound snoozing in the hedge or in the shed with daffodil pollen round its chops ...

I forgot to mention a lovely thing yesterday ...Dh arrived home at dusk having seen two deer by a wooded area , hungrily munching some floral tributes by a staue
He seemed still quite spellbound by their delicate beauty

Brews or soup , if anyone's not had their lunch yet

Hope you're getting a chance to rest , upward , rather than needing to deal with stressful things

Doing better now in the BoTO , but will be impossiblea real struggle to have house looking considerably better than usual inspection standard for agent's next visit , on Monday - energy was much depleted last week < goaty toes for us all to have improvemnts in energy >

So pleased you're considering lovely plans ,Nilgiri , so well- deserved

< small deer edge over to upward's windowsill , hoping for a houseplant to nibble >

shodatin · 14/03/2012 19:31

Scar not sounding pretty at present, and hope someone who knows about these things will be examining it very soon. Am remembering when a nurse asked if I was upset about my wound, and I agreed it was worse than I'd imagined, so maybe it's something that usually looks
a bit unpleasant at first? My latest one is still bigger than I'd imagined, but has certainly faded a great deal and not too bad now.
Hope you're feeling a bit more comfortable now, and not worn out with the endless dressings, and hope the wound closes properly very soon.

cityhobgoblin · 14/03/2012 20:02

Sorry , missed you upward in my sloth-like posting ... your experience will be invaluable to upward , shodatin , and I'm so sorry you've had to go through all that .

I know nothing , as ever , but would guess the raised thing is a normal result for this stage , but the open parts are of course rather alarming - hope wound can indeed be looked at by a professional soon

A great shame time is weighing heavy & you're restricted < tries to think of imaginative amusements >
< firmly avoids historical rompery >

shodatin · 14/03/2012 22:49

Thanks for advice on reduced dose for Rescue Remedy hob, it never occurred to me that the brandy could be addictive but it did help on extra-stressful house-move day. Lovely to hear about the deer your DH saw on way home, and could hardly have been a prettier mealtime.
I wonder if the old house-selling techniques would be useful for your inspection day hob, like having smell of either brewing coffee or cooling bread, plus bunch of flowers indoors and plant in pot near doorway? As you seem certain house won't look up to standard, maybe these could be useful, and ready-to-bake "rustic" bread (Jusroll) was available for around 80p today (bought some to try; will store months in fridge).

Sorry you're feeling restless upward, and think it's probably part of the operation stress, and will take time.
Do you have a jigsaw available I wonder? I enjoy crosswords from internet too, always available, and of course there's always a museum or Art gallery on net.

Nilgiri · 14/03/2012 23:46

Oh here you all are! Phew!

Sorry, bit scrambled and early night (for me), but will settle in comfortably and sweep out the summerhouse tomorrow.

And take the cover off the sandpit for mouseling! GrinGrinGrin

Sleep well all.

shodatin · 14/03/2012 23:59

Glad you made it Nilgiri - put your feet up while I make some BrewBrewBrew and get out hobs special animal-proof snack-tin. Have a rest before even thinking of doing any domestic chores, and I'll leave a message for the fairies to come in tonight and do some smartening-up.
Off to bed myself very soon, hope everyone can have a good sleep, am thinking particularly of upward who still needs to recover, and hob who never seems to rest.

cityhobgoblin · 15/03/2012 00:00

What brilliants suggestions ,shodatin - thank you so much . I will indeed get a pretty plant for hallway , & will try to have the baking scent to cover the smell of the frantic bleaching &painting , thank you so much < feels as if cybergardeners are filling the place with homeliness >

Oooh yes , I love online museum / art gallery & am sure upward is knowledgeab3e on culture < books date for a tutorial>

Have a stupendously good sleep , Nilgiri - joy at mouseling enjoying his sandpit

< gets out tin ready for morning's freshly-baked bread , sweeps floor & and plumps cushions fire >

cityhobgoblin · 15/03/2012 00:03

Grin sorry shodatin , crossposted - thank you for askiing the fairies to improve upon my dismal housekeeping !

You are so lovely , thank you < HF brings Thanks >
Very peaceful sleep to you shodatin , fuschias and hope upward's rest speeds healing

cityhobgoblin · 15/03/2012 10:06

Good morning , lovely peopleBrews and espressos

Very foggy morning again - gets amazingly spooky round here when it rolls in late at night < loves British weather >

So hope you're feeling a bit stronger today ,upward , and wound is being checked / dressed by a professional .
shodatin's suggestion of online galleries reminds me that I've long meant to
ask you about any favourite historical eras or art movements < out of my depth on that one >

Right , to the BoTO after more food Hope we all have a good day

cityhobgoblin · 15/03/2012 10:12

PS , sorry - On button on my monitor keeps going off again as Dh's stuffing-with - card repair job runs out of warranty... have managed to get it to stay on for now , but if you have blissful peace today in the cybergarden it will be because I can't mend it again

Nilgiri · 15/03/2012 10:38

Ooh, Brew! Ahhh! Thank you both.

Upwardandonward · 15/03/2012 10:59

Thanks shodatin for sharing your experiences - I'm sure some of it is about location (pacemaker chest location), and because it was a keloid scar before they went back through it, so the stitches are trying to push the keloid tight against itself. I just need to be patient, but I know it's not going to fade for years as it hadn't noticeably after last time (2 years ago). I hope yours improve.

I did go into town today to get more dressings and some magazines, hopefully that will help me.

The voices are being unhelpful today, but not as bad as last night, so that is good.

SOrry to hear about the DIY repair breakdown, hob - more card?

Thanks for the Brew, and good days to nilgiri and madmouse and hob and shodatin

OP posts:
shodatin · 15/03/2012 13:04

Thanks so much for the necessary caffein hob, am trying not to think of tomorrow when I'm only allowed water from midnight for blood test, and doubt the morning Oramorph will be allowed either.
Doubt my experiences are very helpful to upward, as it did occur to me after that there may have been a previous scar in same area (don't even know proper name, just that so few HCP's seem to say anything reassuring about the shock of seeing one's body mutilated, which is what it looks like of course). Mine no longer bother me as they have indeed faded and it's years ago, plus am guessing I'm older then you.
I didn't like to mention the voices, but am so sorry you're still suffering, and had assumed that the change of meds had sorted this problem - it must be so difficult for you to concentrate, particularly at night when there are fewer distractions. Hope the mental health people know you're still putting up with this; it's so unfair.

cityhobgoblin · 15/03/2012 14:20

Humbled by the things yu've overcome , 8upward and 8sodatin
Thanks for explaining about the scar .. have been v lucky so far in not sustaining any , but I remember myGran had a keloid scar which ached and itched , so I hope your older ones don't

Thank you for telling us more - sorry , telling upward really , but I'm being nosy - about your experiences , shodatin

Argh at possible not taking necesary painkiller for bloodtest - please ring GP nurse to ask , so you won't be deprived unecessarily , when you may already be feeling rubbish from sudden caffeine withdrawal - and you need to feel OK t drive , maybe ?

I don't know whether your HCPs view the goal of treatment as total eradication of the voices , upward , annd I know orhodox views may see it that way , but I am wary of such a hard line as extra treatment can have so many sideeffects Sad. I know sme docs feel aggressive medication for voices improves the course of mh problems . Do you feel up to looking at the Soteria site , part of the service user/ public arm of the Hearing Voices Network ? You deserve info & support from othes with these expoeriences - which I hope you're also getting at day services

Am behind in my Battle so far today , but not yet defeated
Brew/ soup all round

< felines flip on warm cybergarden soil >

Upwardandonward · 15/03/2012 14:46

Tolerance of meds is definitely an issue, thanks for putting it succinctly, hob.

I hope you don't have to skip the oramorph, shodatin

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 15/03/2012 15:11

Kind upward - am never succinct ! The issue is a very tough one indeed , and I hope you are far less troubled by voices today .
I haven't liked to ask recently , in case it was ipossible for you to phone easily , but have been wondering how your DN is getting along ? is he about 22 months now ? Wish we could teleport him over for a visit in HF's time machine

Hope we all have peaceful afternoons , and that 8upward* will soon bfeel a little less restricted

shodatin · 15/03/2012 17:02

Many thanks hob for all the Brews and soups etc - when you have so many things to do around house and garden, political work, pet pampering etc. and yet you can still come up with names of esoteric organisations which may be useful to your friends.
Have decided to take the morning painkillers if necessary and confess later, rather than risk someone confirming that I should manage without it (wonders just how many local nurses are reading Mumsnet). Am not really worried about these tests anyway and doubt any problems will show up.

cityhobgoblin · 15/03/2012 20:23

Grin at nearby nurses Mning, shodatin - I'm sure the great majority of he female ones them are !
Really sorry to see you need such a powerful painkiller- talk about not fair Sad Have you started them fairly recently ? Obviously don't answer if don't feel comfortable to . Am glad you have the pain clinic to help .

You are staggeringly lovely -I achieve so much less than you good gardeners , just bustle & fluster a lot ! Am getting horrendously behind now & have acouple of minor ailments also slowing me down , so must mprove efficiency of sorting ...

Brews and hope we all have something nice to listen to / watch this evening

shodatin · 15/03/2012 21:01

Know how it feels having minor ailments slowing one down, so am not going to post anything else about my own ailments, and hope you'll manage to spend time resting rather than replying hob, and that you'll soon feel up-to-date again.
Hope upward's having a relaxing evening, without any voices spoiling your attention. Am planning to watch tv for short while, so hope I can stay conscious.

Upwardandonward · 15/03/2012 22:19

For a change I've remembered to come and say goodnight all :)

OP posts:
cityhobgoblin · 15/03/2012 22:45

Goodnight , upward - lovely to see you , and hope your night is peaceful - must be difficult not to jog the wounded area

Oh no shodatin , it's important to share some of the burdensome things & not to let my whingeing crowd you out !- thank you for your most cheering wishes < feels better > and many sympathies on having no food / drink - hope you don't feel too wobbly on way to blood test

< ndt stands guard overnight , ready to escort shodatin to medical centre >

Hope Nilgiri is well and not working too hard < hob hastily dusts and smooths the tasks she forgot last night , putting out pot of hot chocolate > >
