Hello everyone, I've not posted since June!!

I went from 12 stone to 9st 9 which was my target weight achieved on 17 July. I maintained that but then it has crept up with the change in weather and reaching for carbs..I'm now 10st 2-4 and to be honest I am starting to notice it.

I have got back into a swimming routine which I love. I'm not completely sure if I want to do the 800 cals only..it worked but I was quite lightheaded and couldn't say I was as fully focused working. So will be listening to my body. I wanted to get back to 9st 9 for early December, so effectively half a stone in a month which is doable.

I've picked the low carb under 400 calories recipes from Gousto (except next week). Next week I plan NOT TO EAT SUGAR OR CRISPS OR CHOCOLATE OR BREAD. Snacks will be protein based and crunchy veg. I am also going to start entering food into my app so I can start to monitor myself better. And also weigh myself tomorrow and then daily again. I'll also relook at the recipes from the plan.

I think the problem I had was that I didn't transition off the plan properly, so that is what I need to fix this time. I think I'd like to do 5.2 for maintenance.

Good luck all!

@MistySkiesAreGone wow, that is incredible weight loss! Congratulations and I’m sure you will get to where you want to be. That’s where I want to be too but I think I have to accept that with a toddler who refuses to let me have time to exercise and working as a teacher, there are just going to be ups and downs and I hve to not see them as failures.

are the Gousto meals good? We were using HelloFresh but very few are low carb so we’ve stopped.

I’ve had two decent (not perfect) days. Am pleased I’m not hungry tho, probably on about 1200 calories atm. Working my way back down. But 1000 is the min for me.

x

MistySkiesAreGone · 30/10/2022 22:51

@walnut87 Gousto are tasty, they are divided up into options like calorie controlled, healthy eating. Also 5 min prep ones which love, 10 min prep, easy and quick.

I have a refer a friend thing if you want.

Monday morning weigh in - I'm actually 10.05 as starting weight, not as bad as I thought. Defo need to be under 10 to have more energy though.

Spoke to a friend who did Fast 800 with me, we agreed both cutting out junk for 2 weeks then doing Fast 800 proper for the last 2 weeks of November.

I am really loving the swimming. Really committed to getting toned.

Haha starving already. Had 30g granola, blueberries, yoghurt, milk.

Just having early lunch of chicken and potato, left over roast.

Going swimming tonight. Dinner is chicken again.

Am hungry too. Am downing litres of water to fill the tummy! Can’t tell u how many wee trips I’ve been on.
@MistySkiesAreGone amazing weight loss. I started at 12 stone too after having my baby. I began in march/April and got to 11 but then holidays and all sorts have got me off plan for a while. So I’m back and hoping to get to 10.7 asap. I would love to be less but I can’t even imagine my body being less than 10.7! I’ve always been 11stone as long as I rem! U have amazing resolve to do it when u don’t have much to loose . I’m going to follow u for inspiration!

today yog and berries
olives snack
home made turkey burgers and veg

MistySkiesAreGone · 31/10/2022 14:27

@Addidas I think a lot depends on height and where you carry weight. I'm just aiming to stay within my BMI range at a healthy level. Mainly as I have a lung condition and I feel extra weight tremendously. It means more work for the lungs to get oxygen round...and my lungs are equivalent to a 70 year olds.

Also the resolve is that I have been here SO many times and it always starts with a little creeping up...not going back to square one, barr major life events...

Your resolve sounds really impressive.

Need snack inspo! Going to have an omelette, more herbal tea, and hope dinner time is soon. Love turkey and olives ... think I need a freezer clear out.

Ladies! So lovely to see the thread active again. I feel like I'm in exactly the same boat as all of you! Life has been so bloody hard since Sept! So I've been going to the gym every morning before 6am, 6 days a week, and I've PUT ON 6lbs... And not lost any inches (although I am much stronger and can see more definition). I talked to a friend and they think I'm not eating enough protein but I might be too low carb as well for the amount of exercise I'm doing.

I've booked a holiday for the first week of December and I want to be a stone lighter by then. I feel like it's a realistic goal and I need to be realistic with it. My goal is to do 5:2 to make room for the work drinks/dinners/life things that are going on, I'm going to up my protein (using a shake or bar mostly) and do more cardio. I'm going to allow myself up to 1000 because otherwise I get too lightheaded and ill but no going over!

MistySkiesAreGone · 31/10/2022 16:42

Decided its dinner time. Chicken and coleslaw. Only 250 cals so defo won't keep me going swimming.

Found some feta. Think I'm going to buy an avocado. Getting into swing again.

Went to Costa twice for tea and no biscuits!

I’m fed up already . Sigh. Want to give in but gonna fight it! Doesn’t help I’m feeding my baby and then son most
of the evening between snacks and tea!

Chunkymonkey123 · 31/10/2022 21:07

Don’t give up @Addidas !
last time I did this I found that I got less hungry around day 5, really hope that happens again this time as I’ve been hungry all day!
eggs and olives for breakfast, chicken/veg/rice for dinner. 911 in total although I think I missed a couple of my cups of tea so probably more like 950.
I need to lose 12 pounds to be 10 stone at which point I will fit in all my clothes comfortably.
@MistySkiesAreGone That’s amazing weight loss, well done!

MistySkiesAreGone · 31/10/2022 22:28

I should add in case of misleading...12stone to 9st 9 was achieved between February and July. I ordered a laminated weight loss chart off Etsy, that helped, which I still have as a reminder Might get another, I bloody love a gold star!
Right off to enter food into my app....so tedious!

OP posts:
MistySkiesAreGone · 31/10/2022 22:50

Ahh so according to my app I think I should be able to achieve goal weight on 1000 - 1200 calories including the swimming.

Need to up the iron and fiber.

Addidas · 01/11/2022 06:54

It took everything I have to not eat the whole fridge yest! May weigh myself today with a hope it motivates me!

Addidas · 01/11/2022 07:01

11.2.5 so not too bad. In right direction I suppose! Still not back to 11!!!!! Maybe by end of week?!

MistySkiesAreGone · 01/11/2022 07:26

Amazing progress @Addidas

9st 13.8 this morning so 0.7lb loss. I forgot you can lose half a pound a day in the initial stages.

I slept so badly last night, the wind kept me up and I was worried about things flying off my balcony.

Aiming for 9st9 by the 11th Nov, which accounts for PMT and not being too strict. I have lung function tests on 17th so that is a good weight. My consultant will be pleased - not seen him since I was 12st.

I think overall I'm going for 9st5. I've put 26th Nov as target date. The night out is 3rd Dec.

Ordered an etsy calendar last night.

I have cereal this AM and left over chicken and coleslaw for lunch. Must pick up an avocado and green tea on way to office. And maybe some fruit, olives, crudites, as the office is biscuit central. Good luck everyone.

NO BISCUITS , PASTRIES TODAY. COPIOUS TEA.

This is turning into a self development thread! Downloaded a womens fitness app as having lost a lot of weight I want to tone up. It has everything I was looking for. The abs exercises are only 12 - 17 mins a day, so I think I am going to start with those. They also have butt exercises which I really want to do. I figured might as well target the problem areas.

Plan for tonight is another swim.

PhoenixMama · 01/11/2022 08:15

Morning! You're doing great @MistySkiesAreGone & @Addidas definitely spurring me on!

Going to weigh in this morning after last week's shocker. Gym this morning & I've upped my daily cardio to 15 mins, then weight training. My goal is to slowly build up the cardio so I do 20 mins most days then 2 days I do 40 mins.

Misty - how did you calculate your calories with exercise?

I'll let you know when I weigh in!

MistySkiesAreGone · 01/11/2022 09:09

I use Cronometer, I think My Fitness Pal is the same.

Once you have put in weight, height etc. you can add exercise. It then tells you how many calories that is.

To be honest I don't enter the exercise as my brain gets confused, but just know that the exercise burned (for example) 300 calories, so I can eat 300 calories on top of the 800 calories, if that makes sense.

I eat to replace the exercise calories. That's the theory. Sometimes I'm not that hungry straight after, just protein, but the next morning I can be.

I guess it's being mindful of whether the extra calories take you into a higher carb zone. I'd be more flexible on fast digesting carbs like bananas and apples. That's another approach- fuel up on them before exercise then you burn them off quick as they are fast digesting sugars. Also take the lead on whether I feel starving, that is usually a sign I will metabolise carb quickly.

OP posts:
MistySkiesAreGone · 01/11/2022 09:12

In the office...no sign of biscuits! Had a debacle at the post office but that does mean I have walked about 45 minutes already.

Also....forgot my swimming costume!!! I did consider buying one. We'll see, but I may take the opportunity and work late here as a lot needed doing anyway.

Right focus time!

Im planning to start excercising 4 times a week from next week I have a pelaton and paused the membership but I find I’m sooo hungry when I do it. Any tips?? I’ll def up my cals to 1000 and I won’t be doing very long sessions (20 mins max) as I struggle to fit in it tbh with my baby and I don’t really like excercise though pelaton I do enjoy but I would still rather watch tv !!!!

anyways should I do it post eating something carbs? Or eat something after? I’ll prob be doing it at 5ish some days and at midday at weekends

MistySkiesAreGone · 01/11/2022 11:40

@Addidas I am not a fitness expert at all...but I'd probably eat something before that has quick releasing sugars and something protein based for muscle recovery.

MistySkiesAreGone · 01/11/2022 11:43

Someone came back from hol and bought sweets and chocolate. They look pretty on the table but NO I am not having any 😂😇 Strenghtening my will power.

Ur amazing @MistySkiesAreGone ! ur my inspiration! Going to keep thinking of u Thanks the advice - a protein bar would prob be good but they not meant to be had on this way of eating r they…processed etc….but means I could do 800 cals food and a bar so am on 1000 and still a quick session . Maybe some cheese and ham but no carbs there…hmm a small bowl of porridge with nuts to give protein?

have just done my 10000 steps had yog and berries brekkie and then at 4 I’ll have my huge feta salad .

MistySkiesAreGone · 01/11/2022 15:25

Love feta salad! I lived on that all summer.

Just had an apple, some banana and 1 square of choc...conscious choice as I am working late...it was a bigger square than I thought so more like two. But I ate Consciously not mindlessly so that is ok haha.
