@Banrockmystation It either happens week 4 or 5 but will pass I promise.

I’ve fallen off the wagon massively this weekend. I swear it started with a glass of wine on Friday night and had just fallen apart from there. Not helped by the fact that I’ve worked all weekend (I’m on day 16 in a row atm) and there’s definitely been a combination of ‘You deserve a treat’ combined with not eating anything until later in the day and then there’s less options for healthy food.

I’ll weigh tomorrow but it’s not going to be good!

VenusInfers · 19/09/2022 10:42

Congrats @SweetFannyAdamsDog - what an amazing first week loss! And good that you're feeling a bit better now too.

@Banrockmystation - stalls are the pits. It never seems fair when you're doing everything right. And when you're so close to a 1stone loss too. Good thing is that it will be over soon.

@PhoenixMama you were right about the running. After another long run of 7 miles yesterday, where again I felt hollowed out after 3 miles, I've decided that i will just have to eat some proper carbs before I do any more long runs. They'll get burned off straight away so shouldn't have an impact on the rest of my eating etc. And I just can't tell how well my training is going if I can't actually run...
16 days straight of work is a long gig. Gives you so little time to plan and prep on-plan meals. Fingers crossed that it's not as bad as you thought tomorrow. You're so close to your first goal!

I ate a bit off plan yesterday evening. My 12yo DS has been wanting to try some Japanese cooking and as he's not usually a keen cook I had to say yes. Oh my god, so glad I did! We made pork gyozu (dumplings) from scratch and some omiburi (stuffed rice balls). The gyozu were AMAZING - so much nicer than even restaurant ones I've had before. With a yummy dipping sauce made from soy sauce and some other things from the local oriental food store. The whole house still smells of garlic and ginger. Maybe I should make these my reward when I get to Goal 2 (9st 10lb)? It would be one heck of a motivation!!

PhoenixMama · 20/09/2022 08:48

I love that idea of motivation @VenusInfers !! And yeah it’s really hard to run in this be kind to your body!

so apparently I’m up 5lbs 😂 I think my scale is trying to kill me. I know I didn’t eat 5lbs of food this weekend so it will be a lot of water retention I think. Plus I’ll get my period this week and my weight always fluctuate like crazy then. Most interesting thing about going off plan this weekend is how rubbish I feel, how tired, bloated & heavy my body is, so it’sa great reminder that there are other reasons to do this than just weight loss.

Banrockmystation · 20/09/2022 13:56

It’s certainly weird isn’t it when the scales don’t reflect what you’ve been putting in!!
Im definitely going to push on through this stall as I’ve read lots of places that this is the moment many people give up assuming it’s not working but if you keep going it will move again. So I’m just carrying on, I’m not changing anything I’ve been eating as I know I’m eating properly and exercising regularly 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

PhoenixMama · 22/09/2022 13:05

How's everyone week's been?

The scale was not very nice to me this week BUT I have lost another 2 inches in total so I feel like I'm going in the right direction. I also have not be super strict but definitely eating less crap when I don't try at all. I think that keeps me at half a stone for the first month (lost most of that the first week and then scale has gone up and down the rest of the month). I'm also due on today and I know that plays with things so next week may show a bit more of a loss.

I'm going to keep going, I'm doing the gym & weights 6 days a week (two weeks done) and it does make a difference. If I lose 5lbs a month I'll still be there by Christmas and it sure is better than gaining 5lbs a month!

VenusInfers · 23/09/2022 19:44

Hey all!

I am not weighing myself today. I am just at the start of my period & am a bit constipated (which is a fun, usual element of my period compounded by this WOE. Yay!) so I know I will weigh heavier than I deserve.

Like you @PhoenixMama I've lost inches so know things are moving in the right direction and just don't need to see a dial that hasn't moved. In a day or two things will be better. And I'll be close to half way to my goal weight.

Tomorrow night I'm out to a house party so will aim to save up some calories and try and keep low carb even if I do go a bit over on calories. Then it will be back on plan for another two weeks until my reunion. Really keen to be under 10st at that point, which in theory shouldn't be a problem. 😁

How are you @Banrockmystation ? And @SweetFannyAdamsDog ? Hope it's been a good week!

Banrockmystation · 24/09/2022 09:29

I’m struggling, weeks 4 and 5 with no weight loss and not much difference on measurement either. I log my food and do exercise so it’s impossible that i wouldn’t be burning more calories than going in. I just wonder what happens with people like me.
the only thing I don’t log is salad leaves and the free stuff in the books like leafy greens.
it’s crazy! Macros well below 50g for carbs too.

PhoenixMama · 28/09/2022 07:21

Had a little cry last night - 1 month of this (albeit imperfectly, but significantly cut down on a month ago), 3 weeks of going to the gym 6 days a week, cut drinking down to 1 day a week at most, some weeks none, and I have an important event tonight & I have nothing to wear because my clothes from last year don’t fit. I feel like I’m working so hard but getting no where. Do I literally need to starve myself? I’m at a loss and it is NOT weight loss!

Zott · 28/09/2022 09:33

@PhoenixMama that’s so annoying, no wonder you are upset. I so sympathise with the nothing fits dilemma. Can you afford to get something in a bigger size, charity shops around me are bulging with stuff including formal. Sparkly top with black elastic waisted trousers and bright lipstick?

I don’t have any answers on the weight loss, just about to weigh myself for the first time in 3 weeks. I fully expect to have put back on the few lbs I had lost. I think it just takes a lot longer sometimes, stress and not sleeping seem to slow down the loss. It’s really hard. I find family life gets in the way of my plans, but there are always excuses with me!

If i were you'd I'd do a full set of body measurements. If you're exercising too you can be building muscle so scale won't move so fast. I lost a stone in 8 weeks (admittedly most in first 5 weeks) and mathematically it can't not work so I feel your frustration. Anecdotally on Reddit lots of people say that a week 'off' eating normally then getting back on wagon kickstarts things, even if it's just losing the inevitable water weight

i may give that a bit of a go. Problem is that I’m so scared to fall off the wagon for fear I won’t get back on!! I’m feeling so used to eating like this now that I don’t want to do the hard bit again 😭
No alcohol, no chocolate/cake/biscuits/bread /rice/potatoes/bread type products/no Diet Coke or other type drinks for coming up to 6 weeks!!!! I really feel it should be better than this! The only thing I can wondering is if my bodies going to suddenly whoosh so it keeps me plodding on but I just wonder if that will ever happen! At least I’m not gaining I suppose !

Addidas · 29/09/2022 09:57

Hello everyone
sorry for radio silence. Was super struggling to jump back on post holiday. Kept being good and then stuffing my face. It’s so hard once u let those sugary carby things back on.
anyways on day 3 and going well so far. Not going to weigh myself everyday and just keep being good and know it will come off. I’ve still not shifted the holiday weight from a month ago! (2 pounds of it left)

sorry to all those struggling it’s so though. But we are here. Ups and downs and part of this. We didn’t gain our weight a week so will take time to loose . Just keep chipping away and know it will shift and your doing wonders for your general health eating med diet anyways. We can do this (I say for 10099th time).

Addidas · 30/09/2022 08:28

Holiday weight of
finally hit a stone off taken me about 10009 years!

Zott · 30/09/2022 09:50

@Addidas well done for persevering, happy for you.

I am exactly back to the weight I was when I joined the thread in early July. Haven’t stuck to it for more than a couple of weeks. I need to regroup.

Chunkymonkey123 · 30/09/2022 10:10

Well done @Addidas !

Addidas · 01/10/2022 17:52

@Zott its really so hard. I can’t believe how long it’s taken me. And I still have 7 pounds to loose but this is going to the slowest. Will weigh myself tmrw and possibly got a take away yest (was a healthier option but still!) and had 1 glass of wine (better than a bottle?!)

Addidas · 04/10/2022 17:41

I’ve gone off plan

again.

shake me someone!

PhoenixMama · 04/10/2022 18:12

@Addidas I feel you - I actively climbed down off the wagon on the weekend, drank booze, didn't count cals, but it was all a conscious choice but still.

Weirdly I've now had a 4lb whoosh. Not sure if it's real or not lol but 1lb and I'll have broken the first threshold. That said I'm feeling rubbish and emotional and overwhelmed so all not helping. I'm going to try and keep going but I'm wondering if I need to do a couple of normal-ish days because I need more cals with the gym? I feel like it should be easy - eat less lose weight but that's definitely not how it's going lol.

How's everyone else doing?

Addidas · 04/10/2022 18:49

That’s great @PhoenixMama

i think I keep making excuses when social event happen. So this weekend we have a family gathering. I can totally keep to plan and fasting timings but I know I’ll eat cake and drink. Why?? And then it makes me go off plan the days leading up to it to. Can anyone help me with any words of wisdom. I can eat the food on sat - I know I can have it low carb though will be high cal (we going for a curry) but then to not touch the booze too? And not the pudding? I find it so hard ! How do others navigate social times

Addidas · 04/10/2022 19:01

I’m starting to post on here everyday as that was helping. My plan tmrw is

yoghurt and berries at 9
Stilton salad 3pm
smoked salmon mini salad snack at 5/6 to keep me going till fast ends

comes in at 950 but that’s better than the 1000000 I’ve had today. Though it’s not 800!

PhoenixMama · 04/10/2022 19:29

I’ll post every day with you @Addidas if that helps?

With occasions I like to think how often/how special they are - how often do I see these people, how special is the occasion? That’s what let’s me decide how free I let myself go.

Are you getting enough protein @Addidas ? That looks light on protein to me - do you track your macros? There’s a protein calculation let me see if I can find it for you!

Addidas · 04/10/2022 20:47

@PhoenixMama it’s coming in at 50g protein so on lower side. Is it 60 again we need

right let’s do this. It is a special occasion but it’s family I see a lot. I’m wondering I skip dessert and alcohol and enjoy main. I actually can do that but at 10pm when everyone gone u will find my raiding the fridge - I’m a secret eater….

PhoenixMama · 05/10/2022 06:32

@Addidas I found the measurement & it’s 0.75g of protein per kilo of body weight so depending on how much you with it might need to be higher. I struggle with protein so much but I do notice a difference in how full I am when I max it out!

Addidas · 05/10/2022 07:16

@PhoenixMama thanks. I need 52g. So I’m ok. It’s Greek yoghurt I have hence the protein comes from that and cheese and the salmon. Thanks for pointing it out though

right I’m doing this! I’m actually on holiday in 2 weeks and I want to be 10.12 when I get on plane!

Addidas · 05/10/2022 07:21

Well I’ve put on 5 pounds. After posting I’d finally got to a stone. But I’m hoping it’s water and off in 2/3 days?? Honestly just so annoyed at myself!!!!!!
I’ve still not decided how to play sat!
