Thanks for the recommendation @Zott I'll check it out. A friend recommended Tripp drinks as well.

Well done on getting back on track @Addidas that's always the hardest part!

@Rosehugger I tried that last year and the weight loss slowed down so much to between 0.5 - 1lb a week max and I just got totally disheartened. I think I could do it for maintenance but I want to lose just over 2 stone and I think it's just too hard for me with the running.

Addidas · 01/09/2022 07:05

3 pounds of holiday weight gone. Another 6 to go! Jeans feel tight this am :(

PhoenixMama · 01/09/2022 10:26

Closed the kitchen last night at 855cals & this morning down another 1.5lbs for a total of 6.4 which is great, hoping to hit half a stone this week.

Keto flu has fully kicked in though with a pounding headache I can't seem to shake. Will up my salt & water today and hopefully be ok - last time it lasted for almost 5 days 😭

Rosehugger · 01/09/2022 11:16

Well done everyone.

I put a size 12 dress on today which was gaping and needed safety pins and I finally concluded was too uncomfortable to wear in June, now fits comfortably with zero gaping.

Zott · 01/09/2022 11:46

@Rosehugger that’s great, well done!

1st September, I didn’t make my summer goals so it’s switching to C word goals. 😀

PhoenixMama · 01/09/2022 13:07

Well done @Addidas & @Rosehugger That is the BEST feeling - congrats!

@Zott What are C word goals lol

TarasChoc · 01/09/2022 15:16

Hopefully the keto flu won't last as long this time phoenix.
Well done Rose, clothes fitting properly are the best achievement.

Does anyone else have a fair bit to lose? It'll take a fair bit more than 12 weeks to sort out my weight. As such I'm not going as low as 800 calories most days. If I could find the middle ground and lose average 3 pounds a week for the first few months then reduce further maybe that's a better option?

Rosehugger · 01/09/2022 15:38

About a stone and a half to get to normal BMI, and I'd love to lose a bit more beyond that if possible. I did get to normal BMI on Very Fast 800 last year but I think I probably did it too fast/severely given I haven't that much to lose - that and the lifting of the Covid restrictions in the spring/summer probably made me go a bit mad after and I put the weight back on. I've lost some of that now and I'm happy to do it more slowly and sustainably this time.

Zott · 01/09/2022 15:50

@PhoenixMama I thought it was a bit early to use the word - but I meant Christmas being my new goal to be at my target weight.

I need to weigh when I get back from holiday but I reckon I have 2 stone and a bit to lose. There is one advantage to all the blubber, it has kept me warm in my swimsuit in Cornwall. I was the only adult not in a wetsuit swimming today.

Addidas · 01/09/2022 16:16

@Rosehugger thats the best feeling ever well done!!

I had got to stage where I had about 8 more pounds to loose as wanted a bmi of 23.5

but then I went away and put on loads . I’m hoping this goes in a week or so and then I can start working to goal . I have a holiday in mid October and really want to be there for then but I’m already thinking with his holiday weight still to loose it won’t happen!

Addidas · 01/09/2022 16:18

Oh and I’ve stuck to plan today! Made a delicious spicy salmon with brocolli

Pookymalooky · 01/09/2022 20:52

I’ve got quite a bit to lose. About 3.5 stones. Not sure even if I stick to it for the 12 weeks wether I could lose most of it in that time?
im guessing after the first initial week or two most people only lose 1 or 2 pounds a week max going forward? What’s everyone’s experiences on that?

Addidas · 02/09/2022 07:20

Another 2.4 off overnight. Hopefully this last 4.5 will be off by next week and bmi is normal and I’m back to pre holiday weight!

PhoenixMama · 02/09/2022 10:41

0.6 of a lb off (I was at cals but over on carbs yesterday) but that brings me to half a stone lost this week which was my goal.

@Zott Laughed out loud at Christmas being the C word! I think that's too far away of a goal for me, I'd just put it off indefinitely then wonder how I can lose a stone a week come Dec 1st. I do better in 1 month/6 weeks deadlines.

@TarasChoc & @Pookymalooky Last time I did this (2019) I lost around 50lbs so I thought it might be helpful if I shared what that looked like over 20 weeks:

Week 1: -12lbs
Week 2: -4
Week 3: -3
Week 4: -2
Total Month 1 losses: -21

Week 5: -2
Week 6: -2
Week 7: -2
Week 8: -1
Total Month 2 losses: -7

Week 9: -3
Week 10: +4 (on holiday)
Week 11: -2
Week 12: -3
Total Month 3 losses: -4

Week 13: -3
Week 14: -2
Week 15: +2
Week 16: -3
Total Month 4 losses: -6

Week 17: 0
Week 18: -2
Week 19: 0
Week 20: -1
Total Month 5 losses: -3

I'll be honest, after week 14 it definitely got harder and it was soul destroying after week 16 (basically plateau'd and up & down daily) which is why I stopped. I couldn't deal with tiny losses after such big ones. And I kept it all off until 2nd lockdown.

I also lost a LOT of inches - 28 in total with 6inches off my waist, but again the majority of that by end of week 14.

I've got about another 2ish stones to lose now so am planning on 12 weeks, knowing I'll slow down dramatically after 8 weeks. Hope that helps!

VenusInfers · 02/09/2022 11:30

Hello All.
Starting today. Have done this diet with great success before & even reached dream weight just before lockdown 1. And now I need to lose over a stone all over again. Sigh.
Head’s in the right place, cupboards have appropriate foods & no food-based social events in the diary until the end of the month. By which time I’ll potentially have earned an evening off-plan.

VenusInfers · 02/09/2022 11:32

And hello again @PhoenixMama !

TarasChoc · 02/09/2022 12:19

Welcome back Venus

@PhoenixMama thanks so much for that it's really helpful. I would like to lose just over 70 pounds. I think what I'm concerned about is like you experienced . Having decent losses for the first few months and then it slowing right down. Realistically I'll still have a lot to lose at that stage.

I've spent a lot of time this week trying to figure out what will work for me. I'm going to read both fast 800 Books and have one on intermittent fasting too. I have been doing 16/8 but reality it's actually closer to 18/6. If I eat a decent amount of protein, eat joyful sugar healthier carbs and drink plenty of water then I'm not hungry or don't have cravings. What works for me is not eating until the afternoon and then stopping eating around 7pm. I'm never hungry in the mornings and if I do eat breakfast then I'm hungry all day. Starting my fast at 7 means I've broken my addictive mindless snacking habit which has led me to gaining all this weight.
I'm desperate to drop some weight relatively quickly as it's affecting my every day life and making even basic tasks more difficult However I don't want a diet plan I won't be able to stick to long term.

Pookymalooky · 02/09/2022 14:18

@PhoenixMama that is actually so so helpful thank you!!! I know we are all different and it will happen different for me but to see it written down like you have gives me some hope that it is possible!!!

I find weekends the hardest so have to be even more rigid and that’s tricky but I remind myself that this first bit is only for 3 months and then hopefully I can change it up a bit.

walnut87 · 02/09/2022 18:50

Hi all

Started this yesterday - lovely to see it’s not just me - I’m doing more like 1000-1100 as I’m breastfeeding a bit still. It’s surprisingly manageable during the day but I get so woozy around 3-4 o’clock, anyone else find the same?

@PhoenixMama your breakdown was so helpful, thank you. I’m hoping I can make it to half term. I was so hungry in the night last night! Agh!

I would like to get back to 68kg so have about 12 to lose - last time I managed anything close was my first trimester when all I could eat was salad and hummus ha.. I am also trying to get back to a sensible weight and lower my blood sugars before I try to get pregnant again.

x

Addidas · 02/09/2022 18:55

So I stuck to 1000 cals but totally off plan. I ended up having an icecream for dinner. Terrible.

back on good eating tmrw!

welcome @walnut87 . I have a baby too (7 months) so hard to not eat her left over weaning food she throws on floor!

Addidas · 02/09/2022 18:56

Not that I would eat food of the floor! But she literally throws an entire half banna on there sometimes!

walnut87 · 02/09/2022 19:20

There is a plate with some leftover chicken nuggets on it tormenting me at the moment so I feel your pain ha!

Addidas · 03/09/2022 07:27

0.5 off overnight
so that 5.5 off in 4 days . Would love the other 4 off by Wednesday so all holiday weight gone but suspect that would happen!

plan today
yoghurt and fruit
prawns and salad
treat cappuccino!

Zott · 03/09/2022 11:34

Home from holiday, going to try and get back into it today. No bread is my main challenge.

@Addidas it’s coming off so fast, hope that happens for me too. @PhoenixMama yeah I hate a long goal too but I am having to accept I’ve been up and down the same 7 lbs for 3 years, I want to lose 2 stone. I’m probably the oldest on the thread at 55. Keep on going everyone.

PhoenixMama · 03/09/2022 12:41

Apparently I’m up 2lbs overnight 🤔 which is frustrating but guessing it's water/hormones (my boobs look really big this morning too lol)

I also did the mindless snacking on leftovers last night but not 2lbs worth lol For that jump I'd want wine too!

I've got a really big posh dinner on Weds & I'm really nervous because I don't want to drink Burt they are notoriously boozy events, I'm thinking of telling people I'm on antibiotics, is that bad? I'm also worried that it will be a tedious event off I'm not drinking (isn't that awful!!)
