Thanks. Managed on 950 and 30 carbs today. But gonna do some excercise now as really wanted to stick to 800!

tmrw plan
feta salad
pork and veg again left from today
am out a lot of tmrw and meal times will be funny so picked up some ham crisps from marks?! No carbs and hoping it will stop me grabbing a lattee or a choc bar!

would love to be in the tens for next week.

Addidas · 05/08/2022 08:05

Another 0.4 off this am. So 11.1.2
would love to be 11 by Monday!

Hello!

I hope newbies can join?

I'm skipping over from the Louise Parker Method thread as trying the Fast800 for a few weeks to give me a boost. I like the LPM way of eating but it was easy to overeat and my weight loss was stagnating!

I properly started (again!) to lose weight in mid November 2021 so 8-9 months ago and have lost 19.5kg/just over 3 stone since then on a combination of LCHF Bootcamp, LPM and now Fast800. I have a long long way to go (another 45 kg/7stone or so to go) so like to mix it up so I don't get complacent!

I am generally doing OMAD as I'm really new to calorie counting and I find it easier than having teeny portions. I am an long-term intermittent faster (apart from when doing LPM) and water drinker so find the stretch from evening meal until lunch fine, then have to try and distract myself from lunchtime until teatime! I do want to work on having my evening meal (OMAD) earlier as its been 7.30-9pm for the past week, by then I'm starving. This also means I go to bed fuller than I'd like and I'd also like to eat with the family. Life is so busy that I sort out food for them, clear up, get my 5yo to bed then start to make my meal, by which time I am chewing my own arm off!

Anyway, hope I'm allowed here. I'm going to post my planned food for the today below:-

  • Nigella chicken with spring onions, green chilli & Greek yoghurt (tzatziki) + leaves
  • milk in tea
  • lots of water
= 642 kcals/27g carbs

So I have 150 or so kcals to play with. My meal is already made (I had this last night too, yummy!) so I can eat with the family tonight.

strawberrybarn · 06/08/2022 07:35

PS I meant to ask if anyone pays/has paid for the Fast800 12w plan? I like the idea but it's a lot of money and I wondered if anyone had found it useful. I like the idea of the recipes (although I do have the cookbooks) and somewhere to track (I'm using CarbManager and it's a bit shit).

Zott · 06/08/2022 13:11

@strawberrybarn welcome, I don’t think anyone is paying for the Fast800 programme, can’t remember anyone mentioning it.

I have a couple of books and eat variations of the same stuff over and over. Breakfast is coffee, lunch is usually a couple of scrambled eggs or tomatoes and feta salad or occasionally some Greek yoghurt. I eat huge portions of veg; steamed spinach and broccoli, roast courgettes, roast cauliflower, portobello mushrooms and a piece of wild salmon or chicken. I roast a chicken twice a week and have that during the week. If I am not having roast veg then it’s salad leaves, cucumbers etc. I only measure the protein but don’t bother counting veg. I do drink wine at the weekend but stick to AF mocktails during the week. Crisps are my downfall and if I even look at bread I pile on the weight.

@Addidas is much better at tracking carbs and calories, does it properly!

Weighed and have lost 1.5 lbs since Wednesday.

Don’t go mad because it’s the weekend everybody!

Sugarsandwiches · 06/08/2022 17:58

@strawberrybarn i cancelled before free trial ended as thought it was shit tbh just took note of some recipes and then use my fitness pal to log it. I’m doing Fast800 but having Saturdays around 1200 cals

imnottoofussed · 06/08/2022 21:09

Just spotted this in a magazine if anyone did want to join the official programme. I'm just using the recipe book personally

i ate cake yest lots of it.oops
back on today

Stilton pear salad
salmon egg spinach omelette
coffee and more of it

strawberrybarn · 07/08/2022 09:16

Please don't worry @Addidas, I've read the thread and know you can get back on track!

My OMAD tea + milk in 2 x teas was around 640kcal yesterday so I sneaked in a couple of tiny homemade blondie bites that I'd made for a bake sale and still 0.5kg down this morning.

Today will be a test. Off to a 100th birthday afternoon tea party, which is catered. Cakes, sandwiches, scones - all my faves! I am planning and hoping to stay fasted and take a couple of very small treats home that I will have after my OMAD courgette fritters tea! I only have 2.7kg to go to my next target and 5.7kg go to be under 40 BMI so need to be head down and focused. Luckily I am helping out at the party so this will help to avoid temptation!

Thanks for the welcomes and tips, back later!

Addidas · 07/08/2022 11:33

@strawberrybarn wow amazing restraint of if u manage that. Ur obv in the zone.and huge weight loss already amazing!

yes im back on but I admit to thinking about opening the cupboard and eating a slice but I won’t! but I seriously considered it.
had my delish Stilton salad

really want to be 10 something by next Thursday. I go on holiday week later and ideally if I’m 10.12 it means I won’t be stressing but can just mindful about my choices

Zott · 07/08/2022 12:23

Doing ok here, bf is coffee, lunch is 2 boiled eggs with celery salt, dinner will be chicken salad, will have 2 glasses of wine after dinner.

So I failed miserably with this plan, party food (a limited amount, but still) was consumed (nothing else, used the party food as my OMAD) and hardly any water all day resulting in that 0.5kg back on.

Head down today but a difficult day to navigate eating wise. I'm going by train to visit a city a couple of hours away to meet some old schoolfriends for lunch. I will use the lunch as my OMAD and plan to choose wisely but water consumption at the level I usually drink will be really hard. Also, I'm in Scotland where we don't (yet) put calorie amounts on menus so I will have to guesstimate.

Putting on weight is so hard, even if fairly deserved. It does make me wonder how I can ever get back to eating normally when maintaining, but I've a long, long road to travel before then so I think I'll navigate that when I come to it!

strawberrybarn · 08/08/2022 07:11

Thoughts very welcome on my best choice for 750kcal or under (& lowish carb) from the lunch menu today. I'd LOVE the fish tacos but am thinking soup with no bread (not enough if my only meal of the day), one of the salads or steak with no fries (don't like duck).

@strawberrybarn don’t worry. We all have bad days, I literally ate my house yest. Not quite sure what I was thinking. I’m back on today. Also been pondering over maintaining as 2 years ago I got to 10.11 and then put it all back on. Ok I got preg which didn’t help but I know I would have done it despite this. Will deal with it when im 10.7 which I think is my goal. I haven’t weighed today as will be something awful - I’ve basically had 3 days of cake and biscuits.

I would go with the
goat cheese salad will keep u full with the fat and nuts and sounds so yum!!!!

am totally back on today
cheese and spinach omelette
fishcake and salad

Jibbajabba1 · 08/08/2022 08:38

Hey - hope everyone is well!
You’re all going great, the main thing is dusting ourselves off and carrying on, blips are normal, it’s all about going in the right direction most of the time (this is what I am telling myself)
Also wasn’t perfect over the weekend - so ready to get back on track today. Bit the bullet and weighed myself, and will break it into chunks to lose so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.
Aiming for a run today, and to be super strict and restrict calories today to make up for going over on the weekend.
bf - black coffee
lunch - milky tea
dinner - tuna cheese veg omelette (as it will be quick to make, and won’t require me to spend too much time in the kitchen) with salad
snacks - fast protein shake and collagen protein hot chocolate

Zott · 08/08/2022 09:45

@strawberrybarn if it were me I’d have the steak. I think like @Jibbajabba1 says breaking the goal into mini goals is the best way to avoid being over whelmed. I am dreading another very hot week, all my family are hopeless in the heat but at least we have a fridge/freezer this time!

Addidas · 08/08/2022 15:58

Closing on 865 cals
There is no more cake or biccies in house so I won’t be raiding any cupboards later !

Rosehugger · 08/08/2022 15:59

Hello everyone. Great to find this thread. I did Very Fast 800 last year for 8 weeks, getting to normal BMI for the first time in 12 years, but then put the weight back on - and a bit more. Perhaps the end of Covid restrictions made me go a bit mad after I'd lost the weight. This time the plan is to do VF for 12 weeks then go to 5:2/calorie control and generally just not to go mad and eat and drink everything! I've signed up again with Nutracheck for a year. I toyed with doing ther eating plans but TBH this fits more with my life and it's really good to see the weight actually shifting and not just bimbling about with a pound here and there forever. Plus doing 16:8/TRE makes me feel good generally - obviously has other benefits.

Was back from holiday Friday evening, weighed myself Sat am and had gained 4lbs putting me at 13st 4lbs. I'm 5'7" so need to be 11 and a half stone or under really. 10 and a half would be amazing, I'd be a size ten. Currently a 14 but a few things were getting a bit tight on holiday.

Anyway I didn't go mad on the first day back and ate about 1200 calories between 11am and 7pm and drank lots of water. I don't normally do daily weighing but I just felt so much better, and on Sunday morning I was 13st 0! So all the holiday gain had gone - I think most of it was water retention/carb bloat as I'd had a long trip home and was so bloated/swollen ankles etc on Friday night.

Then Sunday I ate about 1000 calories.

Today I took my lunch into work and had salmon/red pepper houmous on dark rye sourdough (the only bread I have on VF 800), with cherry tomatoes, celery sticks and cucumber sticks. I don't usually have breakfast, just drink water and black coffee in the morning.

Tonight dinner will be something with chicken and puy lentils - I've got plenty of VF friendly foods in so should be able to put something together.

Aiming to do my normal exercise, yoga, lots of walking, Body attack class on Saturday, gym in the week, perhaps a run or two but fairly short.

Sugarsandwiches · 08/08/2022 19:58

@Rosehugger my height and start weight are practically identical to yours! I hovered at 11 stone 4 for years easily before last 7 just going between 12.5 - 13.5 which I just can’t allow anymore. Anything between 10.7 and 11.4 feels right so my main aim is to keep accountable with daily weigh ins probably for life.

strawberrybarn · 08/08/2022 20:24

Hello everyone,

Thanks for all the help and chat.

I had a lovely day out and ordered the steak for lunch (after a stern word with myself about the tacos) - see photo. I did get the chips with it to share with a friend and had more of these than ideal but I did forgo the cake (friends had a cherry bakewell slice and a lemon & blueberry blondie respectively) and I finished off with a small latte. Then I had a Costa Cortado before my train home. I've no idea on how to estimate the calories but am not planning on having anything else to eat today.

A lack of water today, but so tricky when travelling.

We're all doing well!

Welcome to the new people!
well after my 3 day off plan I’ve it on 3 pounds. How so depressing. I was super good yest. So was prob more. Must stop doing this. Anyways sighhhh plan today is

smoked salmon and eggs
salmon fish cakes and a salad

aware this is a lot of salmon but they both need eating . Going to try to stick to 800 exactly and hope I drop 2 pounds overnight I know it’s water but I still hate seeing it on the scale! Not sure I’ll reach my goal of 10.12 by next week. Infact I know I won’t! :(

Zott · 09/08/2022 10:04

@Addidas its not easy is it, so hard to lose a couple of lbs but if I had to gain 5 lbs I could do it so easily and quickly. I basically only ate vegetables (courgettes, spinach and green beans from garden plus cauliflower) and 2 eggs yesterday but an up 1 lb. Blaming the heat!

Rosehugger · 09/08/2022 10:22

That's why personally I normally don't weigh myself more than once a week usually- I like to see the (hopefully downward) trajectory over time rather than daily fluctuations which could just be water/bloating/food in transit/constipation etc. Though I know other people find the daily fluctuations more reassuring.

Rosehugger · 09/08/2022 10:37

Made my super easy and quick dinner last night and my DH and DM also enjoyed it! Did an equally quick veggie stir fry for DDs as neither of them eat mackerel.

Aldi "French" puy lentils in sachets - 2 minutes per sachet in the microwave, half a sachet per person (DH had a bit more). Bunch of asparagus, 1m 20 in microwave with a tiny bit of water. Put that on top of lentils on plate, thin slices of red pepper, celery sticks on the side, small plum tomatoes on the side, mackerel fillet on top, blob of greek yogurt and squirt of sriracha. Takes about 5 minutes, kind of a warm salad. Tasty as the lentils are already flavoured with herbs.
