@AlgonquinBay - and anyone else who's done it! Do you mind me asking how you moved down from the 800 cals a day phase? I am in week 11 and very pleased with a loss of 30 lbs so far but I still have the same again to lose. I'm noticing that my rate of loss has already slowed down over the last couple of weeks and I am not confident that moving straight to 5:2 would keep things moving.

Would an initial few weeks doing 2:5 work, moving to 3:4, 4:3 and finally to 5:2 over the next few months? Obviously need to build in a complete break for a week over Christmas 😁

Hi @Skippii and welcome!

@mummymacphee I think after about 8 weeks I increased to 1000 cals a day which was more manageable and then have started eating relatively normally at weekends (with wine and everything) and then sticking to 1000 cals Monday to Friday. I also do 16:8.

When I hit target I'm going to do 800 cals per day just two days per week (prob Monday and Thursday).

@AlgonquinBay Thanks - that sounds doable. Getting v excited about what to 'spend' my extra 200 cals on every day!

Weigh in for me
Sw- 11.10
Week one 11.5.4
Week two 11.3
Week three 11.2.5 (0.5 away from healthy bmi).

Pretty rubbish loss! But I had had a day totally off plan and letting things slip in my mouth this week like DS left over toast and pretending it doesn’t count. Back to basics. Would love to be 11 next weigh in.

Plan today heck sausages
Lunch feta salad and some greek yoghurt
Dinner chicken and courgetti
910 and 20 carbs. Black coffees and loads of water!
I can do this! Despite me struggling with my inner voices to go on a binge most nights!

Hiya Cream, I'm also aiming to get below 11. But I'm not good at resisting temptation, so the leftover Halloween sweets have somehow found their way into my mouth.

Second decent loss for me this week today (another half a kg) and it comes after a massive plateau and weeks of losing nothing so I'm well pleased and it takes me to another milestoneGrin. Haven't been this weight for years!!

Keep on keeping on everyone and the losses will come Wink

@BillBaileysPasoFace I’m also not great at resisting. I have an excellent day and then struggle through day after. I feel like I need to be in some sort a AA support group for eating!!
Anyways I’m really hopeful I’ll do it this time. Hope Xmas doesn’t scupper it al. But we have time before to really knuckle down and loose a good amount.
I would really like to be 11 at least next week...

Had weigh in day on Tuesday, now in week 11. Lost another 2lb so 34lb in total. Feel much more on it than I have for the past few weeks. I wrote a meal plan for the week and I think that's what's helping me keep on track. If my food is there in black and white I can stick to it. It's when I make it up as I go that I have problems.

Hi everyone, can I join??
I ordered the book today and looking forward to getting started. Low carb works well for me and is great for reducing appetite.
I'm reading up about it now and plan on doing low crab and IF (19:5 works well for me, surprisingly) until the book arrives, that way I feel like I'll be in good stead to start the 800fast.
I really need to lose weight I have ballooned this year and feel terrible.
I put my "big" winter coat on today, it was hanging off me this time last year and it was TIGHT today.. the shame!
Can I ask, can you stick to the 800fast until you hit goal weight??

Hi, some great results here, can i join in? I have the book and recipe book I'm starting on Monday hoping to lose 10 pounds by Christmas

Welcome @alloutofcareunits and @Nonononon - I can absolutely say that this works and you'll be really pleased with the results if you stick to it.

I have tried all the diets going over the years, lost a bit, got bored, put it all (plus a bit more) back on, rinse and repeat! I put on a stone in the first lockdown but, for some reason, I just managed to get into the right frame of mind to give this a really good go. I started in August and tomorrow will be my 12 weeks done. As of today I have lost 32lbs. I still have the same to lose again but I'm happy that this will take a bit longer.

I'm trying not to be too boasty about this - even though I'm delighted! I'm hoping it's encouraging for anyone that has consistently failed at other diets, like me. It does work and you can do it! 👍

@mummymacphee that's fantastic!! You've every right to be boasts, you've lost over 2 st in 12 weeks! I'm hoping to have some sense of accountability by joining this thread 😊

Absolutely! If you were to search for my previous posts (I wouldn't bother - they're really dull!), you'd see that I've popped up on many weight loss threads over the years but then just slunk off after a couple of weeks! This time, I thought I would post my frustrations at plateauing, instead of eating them, and I got tremendous support and empathy from others and that helped me to just stick at it. They're a lovely bunch of people here - can highly recommend them! 😁

Hi all,
Can I ask how this BSD/Fast 800 differs to the 5:2 diet? Is it sticking to 800 cals every day, whereas the 5:2 is 2 days of 500 cals?

If I have understood correctly the 800 cals daily seems very difficult Shock

Hi @OnePotato2Potato yes that’s right. Just find the one which suits you best. The concepts of med food and good carbs stand in both. I couldn’t do 500. Infact I struggle with 800 too. I usually do 1000 average over a week (if no cheat days!)

So did a sneaky mid week weigh in. No loss :(
It did that thing where it went 11.2 for a second but then shot back to 11.2.5

Those blinking cupcakes were not worth it. Last time around I did this I lost 2 pounds a week very easily. Anyways so I’ve edited my food today and tmrw so be 850 and 25 -30 carbs. This surely willl push it along!

I’ve had a meh week, but we did have an Indian takeaway for our anniversary. I’m trying to be disciplined and weigh every day to get a good trend line going on my Fitbit.

Have let some carbs creep back in. Had a mince pie and cream last night and a few chips that ds11 made the night before. Weight is still going down and only 3lb off healthy bmi so want to reach that before Christmas.
