Is anyone else struggling with the new Google Health app interface?

Is anyone else finding the replacement app for their Fitbit - Google Health - has the interface from hell? I use my Fitbit to track steps, heart rate in my work outs, my sleep patterns, and track calories every now and again.

The replacement of the Fitbit app by GoogleHealth is awful, awful, awful. Trying to track calories particularly. The user interface is appalling.

If anyone has any tips for easier food input I’m all ears - recording the grammes of food is particularly impossible,

Does anyone track their HRV who can comment on what their values look like in the new app?

Mine has always been low, partly med issues, partly probably stress, partly probably naturally low. It is looking better over the last few weeks, I have made some significant changes (retirement 😎) I'm hopeful it's a real increase but I don't have much confidence in the app.

I just had a look at mine for the first time in a week and it said I was spinning when actually I was in Asda 🤣 I am not sure how it even tracked this because HR was turned off so can't be related to that! I was pushing a trolley..

Fitbit was excellent. Google have ruined my experience. Inaccurate sleep score, poor food registration, steps seem ok but can i trust google? Im looking at apple watch.

Rebootnecessary · 18/06/2026 16:18

Anyone else use their Fitbit to log swims? Mine is behaving very oddly since the app update. It's not logging the full amount of lengths and last time I swam it told me I took a 15 minute break in the middle! It's only been since the app update so I'm sure it's not the watch.

I think Google health is messing up my Google account. I keep getting warnings that my Google data is full (I never back up or use Google photos) but it keeps trying to back it all up. I wonder if having to sync my fitbit with Google has triggered it into trying to back up all my phone photos? I have to keep deleting the Google pics as I get daily messages the storage is full.

I don't know about HR but my resting heart rate on the app is now frequently different from the one on my device. I do not which one is correct.

Mines always been ridiculously low but is still about the same so hopefully yours has genuinely improved!

Anyone know where to find genuine replacement straps? I don’t want to go via google if at all possible. Think my luxe came with spares but cannot find the box!

I am. It's totally inaccurate. I swim a km most days, it records it as 0.04 or 0.03km. I've fed back this through the app. But no reply.

In a sense I'm glad it's not just me! I'm really fed up about it because it used to work well.

JulietteNichols · 21/06/2026 10:49

I have swum a km 3 times this week. Two 7 mile bike rides and a hour long dance class. Plus I am on my feet most of the day I average about 8000 steps.

According to Google I have done 56% of my weekly cardio. What does this actually mean?

I'm not sure I can physically do much more. The only week I managed was when I swam and cycled everyday as it was half term!

I want the old app back!!! Stamps feet ( but not in away that contributes to cardio)

Gingernaut · 21/06/2026 18:30

Every time I walk, it records me as cycling

It's counting my steps, but it's telling me I'm cycling to the bus stop, recording a pitiful average speed and then telling me I'm cycling at 25 to 30 mph when I'm on the bus

Seasidewalker · 21/06/2026 22:34

I had a survey pop up in the new app today asking my thoughts on the new app. Maybe Google really do realise they've got an issue?

I use the activity selection option on my Charge to pick what I'm doing, but the app records it as a general aerobic workout even after I've picked a specific sport.

Well, I've got a cold at the moment. Last night I kept waking up - trips to the loo, getting tissues, snuffling, sneezing, spluttering. According to Google Health I had an excellent night and didn't wake once.

Goodness knows what it's measuring.

Probably all of that cardio from rushing to the loo?

LIZS · 22/06/2026 22:55

Hmm, my fitbit luxe has got itself confused - screens overlapping, won’t restart and can’t even get back to the time! Might be heat but wonder if it is a coincidence or not Hmm

Hridoy · 05/07/2026 08:14

I've been looking for a reliable fitness tracker, and this was really helpful.
is it worthy to buy google fitbit air from Gadget BD in Bangladesh?

Gingernaut · 08/07/2026 19:48

I've put my FitBit in a drawer and deleted the app

Good riddance to the bad rubbish it became

The original creators have taken the money and run, but I hope they regret this

LIZS · 15/07/2026 12:27

Anyone else getting a Google server error message today, and the stats not updating.

SabrinaThwaite · 15/07/2026 12:53

I don’t get an error message, it just doesn’t update.

Femalefootyfan1 · 15/07/2026 13:43

Mine just disconnected all by itself and it’s taken an age to reconnect and it’s not showing steps I’ve done over the last two hours. I’ve had enough of this app since the change, I’m looking at other options that aren’t as expensive as an Apple Watch but will track everything I need it to. Any suggestions?

Femalefootyfan1 · 15/07/2026 14:56

I’ve just checked as my app is still not connecting and there is an outage on the Google health app due to data transfer from Fitbit set for today. I guess we just have to wait until it’s all done and hope it synchs properly to include anything missing from today.

Aberdyfi · 15/07/2026 16:26

My main problem is how often it refuses to sync.

MeridaBrave · 15/07/2026 16:27

I hate it so much 😓😓😓😓
