Anyone else want to make a real effort from tomorrow - 4 weeks of exercise and eating well?

I have been trying on and off to lose weight for the past year but now planning to really exercise 3 times a week if I can and cut down on the sugary crap I eat. A but part of it is the habit of wanting something sweet after dinner when I don't even really want it.

That's good @Burntumber

my garmin watch strap has broken and I had difficulty finding a strap do haven't used it for over a month. I really need to replace it as I find tracking steps really helpful!

Sounds like lots of good exercise going on.

Sorry to hear about the need for long journeys and tough times with your mum. (I couldn't reply for some reason).

I played my 45 minutes of football and I'm now about to stretch again before bed. I'm already pretty stiff as it's our first match of the season.

My eating hasn't been great and had 3 glasses of wine with friends over last night, but back on the case now.

amiboverd · 25/09/2023 08:25

Well done @BaffledOnceAgain I missed that you play football

We have to have some treats!

I weighed myself this morning and my weight is down by 12 oz so that's good. I know weight fluctuates so much anyway but it should help motivate me to make healthier choices.

Well done! Definitely all counts.

Yesterday was our first match of the season due to previous league politics.

I've been to the gym for a half session to recover from yesterday and because I'm supposed to have football training and a rounders match tonight, but last week both were pretty sedentary so I didn't feel I'd done enough.

When I get home from the gym now, I have a frozen fruit and almond milk smoothie with a scoop of protein powder (I've finally purchased). This is good to keep me full until lunchtime and also feels like a reward, but Joe Wicks says it's ok!

amiboverd · 25/09/2023 10:06

@BaffledOnceAgain You've reminded me I used to love smoothie or homemade milkshake. I should go back to those as they were filling but so good. I haven't had protein powder since I used to go to the actual gym. Not sure why it feels different to work out at home!

also I am aching from my workout but that feels good

1lb up from last Monday 🤦‍♀️ possibly not helped by Burger King and McDonalds yesterday.

Out for a run tonight 😊 onwards and upwards 👍

amiboverd · 25/09/2023 17:26

@HouseofHolbein Great attitude and you may even weigh less when you get back 😂

I do think I retain water after a trip to my mom. I don't drink loads and have fast food which is salty. I normally go midweek but that's not always going to be possible with my new job.

Had scrambled egg on toast for lunch and salmon and salad for tea. Just getting into my pe kit for running 🤣🤣

londonmummy1966 · 25/09/2023 18:37

Last week was a bit of a write off with a lot of social events and running round getting DD off to uni which rather stymied the exercise. However today I managed a 10 k run and a quick legs session in the gym. I did a biggish batch of oven cooking yesterday so will have cold baked salmon and salad tonight - a really easy healthy meal.

HouseofHolbein · 25/09/2023 19:54

Just done a 4.25 mile run which was lovely and have arranged to meet my friend at parkrun on Saturday so no excuses 🤣🤣 need a shower now tho!

BaffledOnceAgain · 25/09/2023 23:24

Lots of good exercise today folks! Well done!

Well, football training was intense and then I ran like the wind at rounders, having been well warmed up at football. I even managed to get half a rounder by running all the way round when I hadn't hit the ball! Think I got 3.5 of our rounders tonight (out of 19.5 in a team of 9) and got about 6 people out at 1st post. It was our final match until April and I've loved every minute of it. Not sure I'll get in the team for football on Sunday, but I am nearly 47!! Sea dip in the morning for recovery.

amiboverd · 26/09/2023 13:31

Well done everyone!

I'm having a stressful work day at home and I had a pain au chocolat and hot chocolate to help make it feel calmer. It's my first hot chocolate since I started this though and I'd usually have about 4 a week! 🙈

I'm going to try not to have anything else sweet though today!

If I can do some exercise today I will otherwise I'll do a body combat tomorrow morning.

wow so impressed with all the workouts and sport everyone.

@HouseofHolbein my eldest dc has just started uni and moved into halls too. Feels so weird!

@amiboverd that hot chocolate and pain au chocolate sounds delicious! Hope your day is less stressful tomorrow.

just did lwr abs and arms but need to get a few more steps in to make it to 10000 today. I might get on the stationary bike and test the options on the watch… shame it doesn’t count as steps! I am a bit annoyed as I had a late snack last night and the scales are predictably up a lb today.

HouseofHolbein · 26/09/2023 20:46

Weighed in this morning back to where I was last Monday so the fast food effects are leaving my body 😊

Had beef casserole tonight with lots of veg. Not eaten a great deal else today.

BaffledOnceAgain · 26/09/2023 23:16

I've been in two shops today and not bought chocolate, which is huge for me!

amiboverd · 27/09/2023 10:12

Thanks @Burntumber That is annoying but you're better off doing a longer term comparison I think as we go up and down a lb or too throughout the day!

That's really good @HouseofHolbein

Well done @BaffledOnceAgain 👏🏻 I would find that difficult too!

I really enjoyed my BC workout this morning. First thing is definitely the best time for me as I find it hard to fit in otherwise and it motivates me to eat better!

How is everyone doing?

I find the weekend is difficult as I feel like going easy on myself and eating what I like!

on the plus side I have dug put my fitness watch so that might help motivate me and in counting steps and water intake

I think we are very similar! I find it hard to keep it going 7 days a week. I've had one finger of a Twirl today, but I've now had a crumpet before bed because I can't go to bed hungry. I've walked 5k with a friend and 5k on the side of a football pitch whilst coaching. Tomorrow, I will be playing football again so today was a rest day.

amiboverd · 01/10/2023 06:50

@BaffledOnceAgain Thats not too bad. I did have some chocolate yesterday (just a few pieces) and had half an M&S mini chocolate loaf cake for dinner! I went to M&S and couldn't resist a few treats from there but I want to feel good about myself for a family party next weekend...

I've definitely cut down a lot on the sweet treats I usually eat so I have to give myself some credit for that.

I plan to do about combat this morning. I've been awake an hour so I'd go do it now but my DH fell asleep on the sofa and is downstairs sleeping...

I did a good workout this morning and I can see a difference in a body even if my weight hasn't changed much!

Well done! Great to be feeling more confident and seeing a difference ready for the party.

I'm going to have to keep going. Still need to lose another couple of kg. Only a kg lighter so far, but also looking better, like you.

Burntumber · 01/10/2023 11:38

Well done on body changes @amiboverd and @BaffledOnceAgain

I definitely need to keep going as have a lots to lose.

this weeks weigh in and is looking like I will be up a little bit, but still happy as I have been a lot healthier with diet and walking at least. Had a treat day yesterday as Dd made brownies which were yum and I ate out with friends.

I want to try and get actually properly exercising this month. Would ideally like to lose 8lbs too but that might be tough!

amiboverd · 01/10/2023 17:57

I definitely have some way to go @BaffledOnceAgain @Burntumber and will carry on after this week but it's nice to feel a bit fitter and firmer

I want to lose about half a stone too

I had another half M&S mini loaf cake but I suppose half is better than a full one - the Halloween chocolate ones are really nice! 🙊 Theres one left and I'm hoping DH eats it so I'm not tempted

Gymmum82 · 01/10/2023 19:41

Gah! Properly fell off the wagon 🤦‍♀️ started with pre period week where I wanted to eat everything. Then I did eat everything. Then I’ve just carried on since then. Darent weigh myself 😭 this is what I do all the time. Have 2 great weeks. Then ruin it by having 2 crap weeks and end up losing and gaining the same weight over and over again

CupOfTia · 01/10/2023 19:42

Is it too late to join in here?

Want to get back to exercising this week and definitely needs somewhere for accountability!! Just read progress so far and you all seem to be doing amazing - especially the resisting chocolate parts
