Maintaining the Six Pack Revolution

I’m half way through and getting good results so far - but I’m worried about how I’ll maintain the weight loss once it’s over - especially as my wave finishes just before Christmas!

Those who’ve done it before, how did you find it once you’d finished? I notice a few people tend to come back at a later date to do another wave - the coaches say that’s because it obviously works so well but I wonder if it’s because it’s so hard to maintain!

I'd like to know this too. I'm a month ahead of you and never want to do it again! But I'm sticking with it as I can't quit now!!

Pottymouth83 · 08/11/2022 15:54

Are you finding it tough @SummerLightning ? Are you seeing any results yet?

I don’t want to do it again either but that’s not to say I’m not enjoying it. I’m really noticing a difference the past two weeks so I really don’t want to finish the 75 days and be chunky again within a few weeks!!

My people! I'd been wondering if there were others on here. I'm on the same wave as summer lightening and struggling at the moment but determined not to cave and to do some form of maintenance before the January wave.

I haven't been 100% but I have seen a difference in how I look and feel and how my clothes fit.

Pottymouth83 · 08/11/2022 18:08

Have you two weighed yourself? I have - I know you’re not supposed to as they say your weight might not change but I find it very satisfying to see some actual proof that something is happening! I’ve lost 9lb so far.

How much have you cheated? All I’ve done is had milk in my tea a couple of times and I’ve eaten out twice and just chosen a healthy option - no way am I asking a restaurant to cook me something that’s not on the menu! I can’t believe they suggest that!!

OP posts:
Oddieconvert · 08/11/2022 18:10

What is this?! Suitable if you don’t want to lose weight just tone up?

Pottymouth83 · 08/11/2022 18:37

Yes @Oddieconvert - take a look thesixpackrevolution.com/

it’s a 75 day eating/exercise plan. You get online coaches to help you. In a nutshell, you’re eating 6 times a day, cutting out all the crap, completing daily exercises (that take around 10mins) and 2 weekly challenges (around 30 mins).

OP posts:
SummerLightning · 08/11/2022 18:54

I haven't weighed myself quite enjoying not doing so. I guess I have lost about 10lbs. I was not super big before and am short so that's a lot for me. I've been pretty good: but I put salt on my food and have eaten out a few times and selected the healthy option too. Also can't believe they suggest asking restaurants to make something special! And first week I drank beer at my friend's wedding.

Pottymouth83 · 08/11/2022 19:41

@SummerLightning I suppose they’re super strict because they know if they gave an inch of leeway people would take a mile and then they wouldn’t get results. I’m sure a few cheats like you and I have done really won’t make much difference.

I’m the same as you, I wasn’t big before, just had a few rolls😆

redavocado · 08/11/2022 21:05

I have taken quite a few inches. I need to sort myself out for this last push. But I've lost about 8lb and my clothes are definitely looser.

cheeseisthebest · 02/01/2023 23:08

Just found this thread. I've just signed up to the January wave. Very nervous!

Photogirl69 · 02/01/2023 23:37

Hi - Cheese - was just looking at joining the Jan 23 group but a bit nervous and a bit broke! Just read about it in the Guardian!

SummerLightning · 03/01/2023 08:46

Apparently it's almost sold out @Photogirl69 so you should get on it if you are going to
@cheeseisthebest I'm a bit worried for you given your user name ☺️ no cheese allowed!

cheeseisthebest · 03/01/2023 12:30

I just replied on my own thread about the cheese oops they will think Im mad. Yes I am worried about that too!

cheeseisthebest · 03/01/2023 12:31

Thise of you who completed it last year, how pleased were you with the final results? Im very nervous about the exercise.

redavocado · 03/01/2023 13:12

I was really pleased, especially having not been 100% with the food. I'm signed up for this next wave but aiming to be better!

The food is the main thing that makes a difference. I've heard Scott talking about people who have seen major differences in their appearance without doing any of the exercises. They are very doable though and ramp up slowly. There are always alternatives if you're struggling or don't have access to certain equipment too.

cheeseisthebest · 03/01/2023 14:48

How much weight did you lose? I need to lose a stone and a half.

Pottymouth83 · 04/01/2023 00:33

@cheeseisthebest I lost just over a stone. Some lose more - a man on my wave lost 3st - some lose less. Like another PP said, don’t be scared of the exercises - you’re really not expected to be an athlete, and they don’t take a long time. They just encourage you to do the best you can and will give you alternatives if there are exercises you can’t do.

It’s the food that really makes a difference. Apart from the couple of cheats I mentioned in my PP I stuck to the food like glue and it really paid off. I couldn’t believe I was eating so much but losing weight!!

lovemelovemesaythatyouloveme · 04/01/2023 02:36

@Pottymouth83 Are you still losing? I have quite a lot of weight to loose to get healthy! I wonder if I would have to do multiple "waves" to achieve this?!!

Pottymouth83 · 04/01/2023 09:26

Personally, I wouldn’t do another wave purely because I don’t like the idea of being “dependent” on it, if you see what I mean. I’d rather take what I’ve learned and carry on with it myself.

But to answer your question, I’ve not lost more but I’ve maintained the weight loss - bare in mind I finished just before Christmas and I’ve managed not to put anything on even though I’ve had plenty of treats! I’ve just been sensible - i.e I pigged out on. Christmas Day and Boxing Day but had sensible days after that. Same with New Year. If you carry on doing the eating plan 7 days a week, I’m sure you’d continue to lose weight.

Thanks that's really helpful!
I start of the 9th Jan, so will be interesting to see how I fare. I've tried almost everything else. Think I'm really going to miss a cup of tea, already started weaning myself off of sugar in preparation!
Slightly worried about meal prep and everything, but just need to go with the flow I think!

Pottymouth83 · 04/01/2023 09:47

@lovemelovemesaythatyouloveme I really missed tea too (you can drink tea but it has to be black with no sugar) but just keep reminding yourself it's just for a short time. Honestly, once you start noticing a difference to your body, it'll really motivate you!
Be warned - most people are really daunted about the amount of food you have to eat - I certainly was, I really didn't think I could eat it all but within a couple of weeks or so, you get used to it, your metabolism starts ramping up and you really want the food!
Best of luck and feel free to message me if you have any questions while you're doing it!

Thank you so much, I have tried almost everything, I lost a lot of weight on WW in 2020 but have put it all back on (of course!) and tried various things since. I like the idea that it tells you exactly what to eat and forcem the biggest thing I think will be to cut out sugar! It's only 75 days after all. I have two weekend in the UK mid feb and mid March, but am staying with my friend so pretty sure I can tell her what to cook for evening meal and might rely on shakes for the rest of the meals. I will just be asking for plain chicken and salad if I go out 😂

Pottymouth83 · 04/01/2023 11:10

There are lots of nice recipes so I'm sure you'll find something that your friend will be happy to eat too.
And yes, if you go out for a meal, just choose the healthiest option you can.
Sugar was the biggy for me too but I'm really pleased I managed to do it!

Are you allowed to do additional exercise (like walk the dog or anything, really) or only the exercises prescribed by the 6-pack programme?

And with that, is your calorie intake limited to only what the diet plan says you can have, can you eat extras?

cheeseisthebest · 04/01/2023 19:52

I don't think it's calorie counting?
