If I didn't have classes to go to, Roonetta, I'd be completely stymied by now!

I've realised I'm overworking my shoulder so I'm unfortunately going to have to cut back on swimming for the moment. I've started the couch to 5k for the hundreth time instead. I did not enjoy it this morning.

Thanks both ☺️

Hope your shoulder holds out Motherforkin. Good luck on the Couch to 5k!

Arise day 11 done ✔️

Very shoulder heavy gym class. I'm regretting not modifying more of the exercises, hopefully I won't pay for it too much tomorrow.

Whats the arise programme you're doing, Roonetta?

Run/walk intervals again today, and I managed more than the last day.

Happy weekend.

Taught my class last night, my instructor joined in (she's covering my class on Sunday and wanted to get back in the zone, after a year off). I was so happy that I could help her in some way, after all she's done for me.
I swam yesterday am and today. Today did 800m in about 23 minutes, which I'll take, I felt good.
Today went to take my class but the two who had booked no-showed, so I had a bit a stretch and looked at my mobility program.

Tomorrow and Sunday I'm doing Boxercise instructor training. I plan to set up a class in the community centre, small group training at first (I only have enough gear to teach 8 at the moment). I can't afford any more equipment or training until I start making some actual money out of Boxercise tbh!

roonetta · 01/07/2023 12:48

It's a short Sydney Cummins' strength programme Motherforkin. I am enjoying it. She is great at encouraging you to choose a heavier weight for the last set, which I normally wouldn't have done, so I am definitely lifting heavier as a result. Only another couple of days left and then I'll have a look at her other programmes.

How rude that people just don't show up Bez. Hope you get better clients at the community centre. Our community centres are swamped with yoga and Pilates...I would love a boxercise or strength class nearby where you don't have to join a gym to attend.

Arise day 12 done ✅

Looks great @bonfirebash

I did a refresher of my basic Boxercise training yesterday and today I did my advanced training. It was great to train with the founder, totally awesome guy. Propa Geordie lad, ex pro boxer, couldn't meet a nicer chap. It was great fun, and I learned heaps.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 03/07/2023 14:39

You have great playlists, Bonfire. Do you put them together yourself or are they part of the app? Run this morning.

Part of the app! There's about 5000 classes and you can filter by music/difficulty/time etc
You can see the playlist before you start as well so I just filter for the instructor I want and the type of music and pick a ride and check the playlist out

I'm tired. Dh is away so 2x dog walks (I ran some of this morning's) and I abandoned the children to a YouTube babysitter so I could get to a very squat heavy class at the gym. I was knitting a lot over the weekend so stupid shoulder is sore and I've had to book a torture session deep tissue massage to try to ease it out again.

before I joined the gym, during the first lockdown winter, I was thinking of buying a turbo trainer for my office. I saw one in the charity shop the other day, and it could maybe just work! I get plenty of exercise just teaching BC thrice weekly but if the gym shut and the water is shit, then I'd need something to do in the dark months.

Nothing to report on Monday (just did a heroic amount of work, didn't go to the gym for bendy-stretchy class). Nothing to report for Tuesday (more of an 'established a presence at work' day, after doing 3 days work on Monday). I struggle to get anything going on T+W as I have to do the school runs so have about 5.5 hours to fit a work day in, plus whatever work I can do before 7:30.

roonetta · 05/07/2023 12:53

I hear you both; it's hard fitting time for you in around everyone else's needs. Maybe take a couple of days rest Motherforkin Flowers

What's a turbo trainer Bez? Not sure if it sounds like fun or torture 😂

Apparently I have finished the Arise programme, I thought it was 14 workouts but it was only 12. I had a quick look at her other programmes and chose one called PRE which I started today. Bodyweight cardio and ab workout.

Day 1 PRE done ☑️

A turbo trainer is a little gizmo for the back of a racing bike, that basically makes it into an exercise bike. Any keen keen cyclist will have one set up in their pain cave shed. I'm not keen but I do struggle in the winter for stuff to do, or at least I did before I got the Group Fitness bug.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 05/07/2023 17:07

Ah, I'm OK Roonetta, thanks, just a long day. And I get narky about having to do both walks when dh is away! Run/walk with the dog this morning. I enjoyed it more than I expected and I wasn't as sore as I thought I'd be after last night's squats. Dog got the hump when I was walking the last 10 mins to cool down, so I ran more than planned to stop him being stroppy. He's getting an easy stroll this evening whether he wants it or not!

I'm very much a group exerciser, Bez. It's the only way to keep me in any sort of a routine.
