Didn't do anything yesterday, felt like my body needed a rest so I listened for a change. It must have worked because I did this killer workout from Sydney Cummins this morning and now I am a hot, sweaty mess BlushBlushBlush

Very dramatic gym class this evening. The instructor was asked by the owner to leave the class half way through and I think fired 😬

I did the BodyCombat yesterday. I was very interested to see the instructor teach. She talked a lot less than me (I possibly talk too much). The classes were timetabled back to back so there wasn't any chance to say hi at all.

AIBU to feel slightly devo that she didn't clock me as an instructor? Yes IABVU

My back did not thank me and I'm very stiff and sore today. I could feel it wasn't up for it and trained through anyway. Like an eejit.

Still glad I did it, but so sick of this sore back drama. Mobility work needed. Much.

Very tough class this morning but I really enjoyed it. And i upped my deadlift weight. Still not too heavy, but i did 6 reps at 37.5kg - half way back to my pb of 8 years ago 😂Then took the dog to the beach for a walk.

I recovered quickly from Thursday's exertions, happily. My back is a bit tender but I am finding simple mobility exercises help a lot, whereas sitting around rather the opposite. Sadly I sit at a desk for a living!

The owner took over and finished the class, Roonetta. All very awkward. Tbh, the owner made the situation worse by doing a "Full transparency folks..." when the class ended. He should have just left it with the obviously bs but acceptable "instructor isn't feeling well" that he gave when she left.

Hope your back is ok Bez.

Rest day yesterday, but I had a lovely short sea dip.

Hill walk early this morning and a swim at lunchtime.

Class again today. I need to start bringing a notebook to mark down what weights I'm using for each exercise and try to figure out if/how I'm progressing.

@MotherForkinShirtBalls I found keeping track of weights was a game-changer. I used to do three sets of 12 reps per exercise. Whem I could complete 3 × 12 I'd go up. If I couldn't get 8 on the first set, I'd drop down. Good luck!

It's swimming time! The water is a little brisk but fine when you get going. I've been in yesterday for 12 minutes and this morning for 10. I expect I'll be swimming at least once every day for the whole of June.
My timing and coordination seem good, I just need to put in the time.

Didn't want to do anything today but made myself do a 30 minute full body workout with Nathalie Hayward. Not sure where my motivation has gone at the moment Confused

Sea swimming - my nearest pool was closed when the gym shut down, and the bajillionaire owner won't reopen it because it can't cover its own running costs.

I forgot how much I love swimming in the sea, I came out this morning buzzing (a little cold but not too cold).

(to be fair in December-April it's just a bit too cold to get a decent swim, plus you wouldn't want to go in for 3 days after the rain due to Southern Water's contributions)

You are both so lucky Bez and Motherforkin to live near the sea. I am always jealous of the sea swims Envy. Whether I would actually do them if I lived closer to the sea, who knows 😏

Yes I am grateful for that @roonetta

We get roughly 6 months of decent swimming (May - October) - it's actually only getting pleasant in July and August! I had face-freeze this morning on my dawnie, and only stayed in 8 minutes.

Gym class this evening. It didn't seem ridiculously hard at the time but I know I'm going to be in a lot of pain tomorrow after 4 rounds of 20 sit ups.

I swam again on Weds before picking up DD from holiday club. Dawnie on Thursday then went early to teach my class.

The class before mine was about to start and with only one member, so I joined in, mainly to make the number(s) up. 1:1 feels massively different and a bit weird, whereas two people feels like a proper class. I used it for a warmup and cheated anything that seemed a bit keen as I didn't want to be tired for teaching my class.
Teaching went great, I was fired up! My back felt totally fine. I jumped in the sea after, swam into the tide a bit, and drifted back, nothing much.
53 days, resting today.
