Mine was on Saturday when I went out for a road cycle - hadn't realised it was quite so windy and it was against me for the first 15 miles or so - had been up several decent hills and was about 5 miles from home going along a flat, straight road which is fairly exposed. Reader, it may have been slightly wind assisted but my speedometer reached 30.3mph!!!!! On the flat!!! For a couple of hundred yards!!.
Managed to sustain at over 29mph for several hundred yards! I was SO pleased with myself.

Anyone else got an exercise achievement they want to brag about? Grin

I managed 7 reps of kipping handstand push ups (using a 10kg plate to reduce the range of motion). I've got a lot of work still to do to build volume and then ditch the plate but at the start of the year I didn't even have the confidence to get up in to the handstand so I'm buzzing!

blobby10 · 11/04/2022 11:44

AndrewPeacock I'm seriously impressed! I used to love doing handstands when I was younger (45 years younger!) and did do one a couple of years ago onto a wall but could never do a handstand push up!!

@blobby10 thank you! Unfortunately at school when most of the girls were doing the handstands up against the wall, I was playing football so it's something I've definitely struggled with. For clarity, the handstand push up is against the wall!

blobby10 · 11/04/2022 12:11

AndrewPeacock my daughter is an elite rugby player and does them to strengthen her shoulders for tackling! We were training together last year which is when she suggested I tried some...................................🤣🤣 I just don't have enough upper body strength and cannot do proper press ups or pull ups or handstand push ups Grin!

That's amazing, well done. I can do about 4, but with two ab pads under my head which is serious cheating.

I did a 30kg power snatch today, and then 33 reps at 25kg. I've struggled a bit with technique but felt like it clicked a bit today.

ExMachinaDeus · 12/04/2022 11:15

I almost managed 100kg deadlift the other day. Got it 6 inches off the ground hut felt my back flexing so dropped and reset. My PT then helped with a little bit of a spot at the start - a tiny bit of help with one hand - and I managed 3 times to get it all the way up with his help.

So I know I can do it - just got to keep building strength AND confidence ( I tend to freak myself out at anything over 90kg).

Stellaris22 · 12/04/2022 11:55

Today I did 5 reps of 75kg squats and 6 reps of130kg glute bridge thrust.

Zazdar · 12/04/2022 18:56

but could never do a handstand push up!!

They are my party piece. I’ve been cajoled into doing them in the pub.

I've started a 7 minute workout each morning. My back has stopped hurting.

That's amazing! I can't get the technique to click for the snatch, 22kg is my limit.
ExMachinaDeus · 13/04/2022 14:08

Off topic but @AndrewPeacock, but is the 'real' Andrew Peacock still alive? (out of touch with Australian politics ...)

AndrewPeacock · 13/04/2022 14:13

@ExMachinaDeus I had no idea there was such a person! My name comes from a daft joke with DH

I see he died last year .... and not by weight lifting Grin

Had a rubbish nights sleep with the baby up a few times but still dragged my ass in to the gym for paused reps day. Been a bit flaky after rough nights before now.
Max I hit for 3 rep sets... squats 50kg, deadlifts 90kg, military press 30kg, Rows (wide overhand and narrow underhand grips for sets each) 45kg, Bench 45kg. All but squats I felt I had more in the tank which is great. After my session I strapped 8mth old to me in the carrier and walked the dog too so feeling very productive. I was over 17hrs fasted before hitting the gym and looking forward to eating now, maybe a nanna nap if the kids will allow Grin.

blobby10 · 14/04/2022 10:45

Chely you're achievements are doubly impressive given that you had t make yourself go to the gym and are such a new mum too! I've done nothing this week due to life getting in the way Grin

I had a goal of reaching 45kg with my bench press and managed it today.

ExMachinaDeus · 14/04/2022 15:41

Slowly getting my heavy squats back - pre-lockdown my PB was 65kg. Today, I did 5 nice easy & fluid feeling sets of 3 reps at 52.5. Didn't feel a strain, so all the basic accessory work over lockdowns lots of dumbbell squats, lots of lunges, lots of running) is really paying off. (but at age 63, age is a factor unfortunately).

And then metcon - running 12 x 20 second intervals (40 secs rest) at 16kph on the treadmill - again, tough but not so tough as to make me want to throw up. I said to my PT that I think my body is suited to running short intervals fast, and he said it was because I liked the rest gaps!

Chely · 14/04/2022 19:43

@blobby10 I hate days where I don't want to go in the gym but feel so much better if I do get in there.
My 1st time with a baby since I started training almost 5 years ago but we have 5 older kids too (inc twins) so no stranger to sleep deprivation.

Benjispruce4 · 15/04/2022 10:46

Skipping with a rope in the garage and loving it. I’ve stuck to my 15 min HIIT (of sorts) a day all week. Yes I know, it’s only one week but I’m really enjoying it and as 51 haven’t skipped for years! I love that it’s quick, I can vary the pace and I don’t have to go anywhere! I can really feel my heart pumping and the endorphins afterwards are great. Just have to make sure I empty my bladder fully beforehand.Blush

Crazzzycat · 15/04/2022 12:11

I just finished a 2 week rowing challenge, starting with 1km on the 1st and ending with 15km today.

Rowing more than 10 km a day when your body hasn’t yet recovered from the day before really isn’t much fun. I’m amazed I managed to finish, especially as I hadn’t actually rowed anything like those kind of distance before the challenge started. It’s given me the confidence to try some longer distances and may be even start training for a half marathon ☺️

Benjispruce4 · 15/04/2022 12:18

Oh well done @Crazzzycat. What do you use?

Chely · 15/04/2022 16:46

Got 37.5kg up for 2 sets of doubles on my military press, 1kg off pre-pregnancy strength on those now Smile. Really perked me up because my left knee (arthritis) took a funny turn after 1 set of 3 110kg deadlifts and I had to call it a day with those Sad. Trying to skip with the kids new easter themed (carrot handles) ropes yesterday was not a wise idea.

Crazzzycat · 16/04/2022 09:34

Thanks @Benjispruce4 ☺️ Do you mean what machine I use? I use a Concept 2

Benjispruce4 · 16/04/2022 09:46

Yes , thanks. Wasn’t sure if you were an actual rower(on water) Grin
