Mine was on Saturday when I went out for a road cycle - hadn't realised it was quite so windy and it was against me for the first 15 miles or so - had been up several decent hills and was about 5 miles from home going along a flat, straight road which is fairly exposed. Reader, it may have been slightly wind assisted but my speedometer reached 30.3mph!!!!! On the flat!!! For a couple of hundred yards!!.
Managed to sustain at over 29mph for several hundred yards! I was SO pleased with myself.

Anyone else got an exercise achievement they want to brag about? Grin

@blobby10 oh I hate XC. It's so tough. Give me my mud free pavement any day 😁

MrsMoastyToasty · 30/03/2022 11:30

I walked from lounge to the kitchen using my walking frame without pain.
(Currently recovering from a broken ankle).

@CryHavoc

I started CrossFit in the new year, and last week did a set of three 100kg deadlifts, and a proper box jump onto a 20 inch box. Unimaginable three months ago.
Amazing! I'd love to try CrossFit but our local group has a very cult like vibe Blush

For the past 2 weeks I have finally gotten back into doing yoga every morning at 5am, and this morning went for a quick 3 mile run.

I was always into fitness but Covid and isolation for 22 days last November completely ruined my circadian rhythm and fitness levels and it's been a mission to get them back.

Now my alarm goes off at 5am and I get up and move. And once I'm back from Easter break I'll be getting back to swimming as well.

ExMachinaDeus · 30/03/2022 13:07

I don't know the heights of the plyo boxes at my gym, but I jump the blue one now (20 inches, I think) with relative ease - my PT gets me doing sideways jumps or jumps with a turn. And I can jump the big red one, but it takes effort and mental preparation for the first one. After that I'm OK.

We did some agility stuff which involved me jumping clean over the lowest (green) plyo box. It's exhilarating when you get over the mental block!

In awe of multiple 100k lifts!

Fizbosshoes · 30/03/2022 13:13

I did my first parkrun since March 2020 (and the last one I ran at a slower speed as was with my son). I haven't run fast or done anything competitive and felt like my fitness has really slipped. I set myself a target that I hoped I would meet at my current fitness level, and I beat it by over a minute.

blobby10 · 30/03/2022 14:08

I am in awe of all of you!! Particularly those who 'just' go for a 3 mile run - and more! i guess its similar to how non-cyclists think towards me when I say I only went for a short bike ride -- that was 25 miles long.......................😊
@MrsMoastyToasty that's an epic achievement if ever there was one! I hope your ankle heals quickly and you are permanently pain free soon xx

I ran 5km in 19 minutes 44 seconds on Saturday, fastest I have ever ran, I’ve been really focussed on running for the last year but never imagined I’d manage that.

Zazdar · 31/03/2022 11:09

I have a regular running route that is about three and a half miles. The trouble is that I often meet people on the way who want a chat and I’m not that dedicated that I can ignore them.

CryHavoc · 31/03/2022 12:40

@uglymodernwindows
It can be a bit culty, and I was scared of it initially because I was scared I was too old/too unfit/not mad enough, but it's been three months and I love it.
All of the exercises are scaled so people can do what they can, and the coaches (at my gym anyway) want people to achieve their goals.

Brilliant. I hope your recovery is swift and as comfortable as possible.
Crazzzycat · 31/03/2022 18:12

I rowed my first 15 km yesterday, in preparation for a two week rowing challenge that starts tomorrow. Based on how I feel today, I doubt I’ll finish it, but that won’t stop me from trying to get as far as I can 💪

120kg deadlift

Tried to get a second rep but only got it up a short way, tried 2 more times but had to admit defeat. Not lifted that much since Dec20 just a few days before finding out I was pregnant, baby is almost 8mth now. Started back in the gym 10wk post c-section mid Oct at 80kg deads so getting there with it (had covid and injuries between then and now), was managing 125kg for doubles before and want to hit that again ASAP.

Bluetowelsandflannels · 01/04/2022 14:33

It's fab reading all these! I've run 50 miles in one day but can't lift more than about 20kg in Bodypump 🤦‍♀️ I feel pathetic if I'm honest.

Well done to everyone and anyone achieving anything!

Stellaris22 · 01/04/2022 16:30

I'm the opposite @Bluetowelsandflannels

I like to think I'm fairly strong and capable of lifting heavy. But running and cardio are very hard for me. So anyone who can run long distances I find massively impressive.

ExMachinaDeus · 01/04/2022 16:38

120kg deadlift

OMG !!! Kudos!

I did 3 sets of 3 at 90 k, followed by 3 sets at 85 kg today. Honestly the 9 at 85k were harder than the 9 at 90. It's all grist to the strength mill.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 01/04/2022 19:48

I started strength work 6 weeks ago to improve my running.

God the DOMs were awful at first! I was shuffling for 2 days 😂

Last night I managed 100kg hip thrust, 85kg squat and 85kg trap I think he called it.

Mild DOM's today which I hope I've just ran off ready for long run tomorrow 🤞🏼

Maxifly · 01/04/2022 19:54

Ten deadlifts of 50kg. Plank for 4 minutes. And I'm a titchy 5ft 1,over 60.

Stellaris22 · 01/04/2022 19:55

I love hip thrusts so much my PT moved me on to b stance hip thrusts and glute bridge hip thrusts.

SunshineThelma · 01/04/2022 19:58

@Bluetowelsandflannels - body pump isn't meant to be about lifting heavy in the same kind of way though. For pump, I do 15 for deadlift, but if I'm training with my PT, I'm lifting in the 80s. It's all about the volume!

WellBrewedNoSugar · 01/04/2022 19:59

I got my feet flat in downward dog after a month of starting yoga classes!

Oh REALLY?! You've cheered me up massively! Thank you haha! Do I need to go off and think about lifting altogether desperately or separately even!

Stellaris22 · 01/04/2022 20:14

@Bluetowelsandflannels I do Pump and PT strength sessions, it's very different.

Learning to use free weights is great, I found farmers walks essential for grip strength.

Zazdar · 01/04/2022 20:18

120kg deadlift

OK! That has given me an incentive. 115 isn’t good enough.

Could I possibly ask your weekly schedule?
