MrO, forgot to say I hope you're recovering - the flare-up sounds incredibly painful, entirely reasonable not to cycle in the circumstances.

MrOllivander · 08/05/2022 19:50

I'm feeling a bit better now! The anaesthetic gel really helped. Hoping to be back on the bike by Wednesday

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 09/05/2022 20:58

Bodyshred week 3 workout 4, second time. It’s so hard, and I was so hungry! I resisted the temptation to eat the entire contents of the fridge afterwards, though. Rest day tomorrow, then on to week 4.

Days exercised 75.

SophieLion · 10/05/2022 07:54

Glad you're on the mend Ollivander.

Happy to hear you had such a lovely time on your days off professor. Body shred sounds hard!

Rest day yesterday for me abs today iron day 16 (hamstrings) and 17 (upper body).

Days exercised 89

roonetta · 10/05/2022 16:44

Walk to/from work Monday and Girvan upper body today. Healthy eating still going to plan apart from the Crunchie I just couldn't resist yesterday. Slippery slope...Blush

Days exercised 70

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 10/05/2022 20:44

Very lazy weekend for me although I did manage some more garden clearing so I'm counting that! (We are having a family gathering on the June Bank Holiday weekend and everywhere is in dire need of tidying before the in laws arrive)

Yesterday was a horrible work day so I barely left my desk other than to have some very painful physio. I had a short run and a longer walk today. I'm trying that strength and conditioning class again tomorrow.

Glad you're feeling a little better MrO.

Days exercised 59

DrRamsesEmerson · 10/05/2022 22:51

Star on getting to 70, roonetta!

Garden clearing definitely counts, MotherForkin.

SophieLion · 11/05/2022 07:30

Well done on the healthy eating Roonetta. Just pretend the crunchie never happened !

How is the shoulder doing MotherForkin?

5km fartlek run and a girvan lower abs workout.

Days exercised 90

roonetta · 11/05/2022 13:49

Did a Sydney Cummins upper body workout for a change today. Ouch, I definitely felt that. Also did a 10 minute fast walk which I found on YouTube called "Get fit with Rick" Grin. It was fun and I noticed he has some longer walks so might try them out in the future.

Days exercised 71

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 11/05/2022 16:24

Shoulder is OK but any improvement has really plateaued, Sophie so I'm waiting for a follow up appointment for more steroid injections. I tried swimming at the weekend and it was unbearablely sore. Hopefully another round will do what need to be done.

I did the strength and conditioning class again today. Hardly any squats this time Grin

Days exercised 60

MrOllivander · 11/05/2022 17:35

And I'm back. Picked an endurance ride today which was zones 2-3 (zone description in pic)
10 mins in he says "zone 4" and I find I've picked a power class Confused
Zones 4-5 all in intervals for 30 mins

That sounds rather frustrating MotherForkin. I really hope it gets off the plateau soon.

Today iron days 18 (glutes) and 20 (arms, abs and core) for me.

Days exercised 91

MrOllivander · 12/05/2022 21:23

Recovery day so just did a 15 min lower body stretch class

SophieLion · 13/05/2022 07:26

7km interval run.

Days exercised 92

SophieLion · 13/05/2022 17:59

Did someone on here try Heather Robertson recently? Roonetta maybe?!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 13/05/2022 18:52

Bodyshred week 4 workout 3, first time. I've had a shocker of a week at work so haven't exercised nearly as much as I hoped, and the healthy eating has gone to pot too - lunch today was crisps and a ginger biscuit.

Sorry about your shoulder, MotherForkin. Sounds painful and frustrating. I hope the next injection makes the difference.

Days exercised 76.

roonetta · 13/05/2022 20:25

Good to see you back on the bike MrO.

Hope you get some improvement with the shoulder soon Motherforkin

Yes, healthy eating has stalled here too Professor Blush. Back at it tomorrow.

I haven't tried Heather Robertson Sophie. I have watched a couple of her workouts but never attempted one. I did a Sydney Cummins one recently which was good. Because she reminds you throughout about your form and encourages you to choose heavier weights for the second set of reps, I found myself adjusting my form and weights quite a bit which made a big difference to the burn I felt. I will definitely do more of her workouts when I have the time (they are longer than some of Caroline's)

Couple of rest days for me.

SophieLion · 14/05/2022 10:03

Sorry you had such a tough week professor. I've been eating loads of chocolate Blush always start the day well and then towards the evening it all seems to go wrong Grin

Thanks Roonetta. I'll have a look at Sydney Cummings too. Although right now I'm quite happy with Caroline girvan as long as I make time to build in a bit more cardio with running.

Today iron day 19 (full body) - so that's week 4 done - and then girvan 10 mins unbroken abs workout. Really like this one.

Days exercised 93

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 14/05/2022 10:13

Bodyshred week 4 workout 4, first time. It's definitely easier to exercise in the morning, I just wish I could work out a way of doing it on work days - but I need my sleep! Once more through workouts 3 and 4 and then I have to step up to 5 and 6: I'm frankly scared of those.

Cardio tomorrow, then DSis is coming to stay for a few days next week so I don't think I'll get much exercise in, and there'll be lots of eating! Though we are going to go to the climbing wall with DD on Wednesday afternoon, which probably counts.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 14/05/2022 10:14

Oh, forgot to say - days exercised 77.

MrOllivander · 14/05/2022 10:29

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson I'm a bit scared of a 60 min ride but there's a live one I'm doing at 1pm. Eek!
I'm aiming to do 45 mins as I think by then the fact I only have 15 left will get me through the last part

MrOllivander · 14/05/2022 22:00

60 min class done and it wasn't that bad! I just counted it down in 15 min slots
Took a 10 min foam roller class too

Carry on exercising - the October 2021 edition
ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 15/05/2022 13:34

Well done MrO! I do a lot of counting down when I'm working out too - the relief when I finally hit the last five minutes...

Bodyshred week 4 cardio done. It's not getting better, and I've got to move up to the other cardio disc next time.

Days exercised 78.

MrOllivander · 15/05/2022 13:40

The foam roller was grim. Time to get on the bike! Doing a recovery ride and then a stretch class

roonetta · 15/05/2022 15:58

Hope you have a lovely time with DS visiting Professor. I tried getting up at 5:15am to get my exercise in when things started getting back to normal, but it wasn't sustainable and I was exhausted, so stopped doing it. It's hard finding the time to squeeze in 20 minutes some days.

Well done MrO! That is very impressive. I've always liked the sound of foam rollers, but looks like I might give them a miss Confused

Sydney Cummings 30 minute full body workout done.

Days exercised 72
