Bodyshred week 3 workout 3, first time. Ow. Three kinds of push-ups and I can’t do more than one or two of any of them without modifying. It wasn’t quite as bad as I remembered - a lot of the moves in this one are in Killer Abs. Dreading tomorrow, though.

Thanks for the gold star, roonetta! And well done on cycling 22k, Sophie. I used to be able to do that but don’t think I could now I’ve stopped cycling to work.

Healthy eating has gone a bit to pot today, did a roast for lunch because DD loves them and made mango panna cotta for pudding. I don’t think I should eat anything else today!

Hope everyone had a nice long weekend. I've spent most of it clearing the garden. I'm absolutely wrecked from it! I also managed a sea dip today. It was absolutely awful and really lovely. I haven't been in since Christmas eve so even though the water was warmer (10.8c today vs about 8 at Christmas) it felt much worse getting in because I'm out of practice. Definitely need to get it back into my routine.

Bodyshred week 3 workout 4, first time. I was right about the burpee variations - eight sets of burpees in total. I did at least make a gesture at all of them, though I don't have the co-ordination to do the knee-thrust ones properly.

Well done on the garden, MotherForkin! We pay someone to do ours, neither of us likes gardening and it would always be the last thing on our priority list. But I always have a niggling sense of guilt about it.

Planned rest day tomorrow, I'm working in the office and then having dinner with my ex-boss from my previous job. Cardio on Wednesday...

I'be decided to count my cycling day as an exercise day as I was wrecked after - don't know how you do it Ollivander!

Well done on the sea dip MotherForkin! I think they have stats for how many calories gardening burns by hour. Definitely count it as an exercise day!

10 miles is a lot! I feel like I've done something epic when we cycle the school run Blush

Short, unpleasant run today. I'm starting a real life cross training class tomorrow. It's the same class I did about 7 years ago when I started to get fit. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, or if I'm really much fitter right now than I was then Sad It's not too hard core but I need someone telling me what to do to kick me back on track. I'm planning to do a second class on Fridays.

It's definitely getting easier. I used to run competitively at school/college, 100m and hurdles. Never been able to run distance and now banned since my spinal surgery GrinBlush

Or in the surgeons words "try not to do anything stupid but if you do, I'll fix it. Again"

Holy moly, that was a tough class. The instructor was a bit rubbish, I used incredibly light weights and had to modify some things for my shoulder (I may have given a silent cheer to not be able to do mountain climbers Grin) but I'm very glad I did it. Hopefully Friday's class will be good too. I was looking at the class schedule when I was there and thought if you, MrO, as there is a spinning class I might try on Monday evenings, if I survive a few of these conditioning ones.

Bodyshred week 3 cardio done. I may not get much done for the next couple of days, an old friend is coming to stay tomorrow till Saturday and I don't think I quite have the nerve to do Jillian under her quizzical eye, especially as I"m so malcoordinated.

I had a lovely dinner yesterday, thanks - heard all about how much my ex-boss is enjoying retirement, which did give me the odd pang of envy given that I'll be toiling away for the next twenty years. But I'm very fond of him and it's nice to see him so content.

Glad you feel positive about the class, MotherForkin. I hate mountain climbers too! Though not quite as much as I hate squat thrusts.

I realised today that I'm enjoying the iron series much more than epic 3 and epic endgame.

Roonetta I'd love to be able to do crossfit again but I'm definitely a while away from that! It was strength and conditioning cross training, not nearly so hard-core but an immense challenge after being so lazy, even when I was convincing myself I was making an effort for the last year Blush.

I could hardly walk yesterday after doing Romanian deadlifts and 200 squats on Wednesday! I had some other stuff on so I took it as a rest day. I did a 45 mins abs class today (so much pain, so little ab strength) and I had a 20 minute sea swim after it.

Bodyshred week 3 workout 3, second time. As predicted I've had a few days off, had a lovely time with a dear old friend but am paying for it now! Today was really hard (though not as hard as 200 squats would have been, I wouldn't have any legs left after that!). Really dreading the move up to workouts 5 and 6. Workout 4 tomorrow, work permitting, then planned rest day on Tuesday as I'm going to the theatre.
