Lots more cleaning and tidying st the weekend so while I managed 10k+ steps each day, I only did a properly 5k on Saturday. Another today. I'm joining a gym that my old pt recommended this evening, the classes look good and I need some structure. Shoulder injections tomorrow morning so I'll probably take it as a rest day

I'm wincing at the foam rollering, MrO. I used to do cross training in a martial arts gym and the instructor thought foam rollers were for wusses so we used lengths of construction pipe instead!

Good luck with the shoulder tomorrow MotherForkin and enjoy your DSis professor. I also think I spend more time looking at the timer on the treadmill and counting down than watching the nice film I've put on when I run!

Is a foam roller class for stretching the muscles* or does it do something else Ollivander ?* I only ever used one at the physio for stretching my calf muscle. I remember it wasn't pleasant (but did the job well).

5km run outdoors with a friend today.

MrOllivander · 16/05/2022 19:03

20 min low zones (endurance) ride and a 10 min stretch class
Trying to add in yoga and stretching as I am so stiff!

SophieLion · 17/05/2022 07:48

Iron days 21 (legs) and 22 (back and chest)

Days exercised 95

Ps my paragraphs keep disappearing in my posts and in all your posts. Does anyone else have this? I'm using the app on phone.

MrOllivander · 17/05/2022 16:47

Sacking off yoga tonight for a 20 min salty mood theme ride Grin with a 10 min stretch class after.
I feel the need to sweat a little bit

MrOllivander · 17/05/2022 16:48

@SophieLion stretching, releases tension etc

SophieLion · 18/05/2022 07:46

Iron day 23 (glutes and hamstrings) and a short weighted abs session.

Days exercised 96

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 18/05/2022 10:35

I managed to get to see the new gym this morning although I couldn't sign up to a class today. I did a little bit of a few different things (some free weights, cardio, core) to ease myself in and get a feel for the place. (My shoulder is sore from the injections yesterday so I'm minding that too.) I really hope it helps me get some sort of routine back.

I can't believe how close you are to 100 days Sophie!

roonetta · 18/05/2022 13:00

Yes mine are doing that annoying thing with the paragraphs too Sophie, when I use my Ipad. On the computer it seems okay.

The new gym sounds great Motherforkin. Hope the shoulder eases soon.

You have definitely been kicking ass this year Sophie. You have been a great motivator for me on the days I don't feel like doing anything. I bet all your hard work is showing 🤗

Monday: walk to/from work
Tuesday: 30 minute 'Get fit with Rick' (which was to 90's hits, and was very enjoyable) and a 20 minute Yoga with Adriene
Today: 30 minute Glute and Jump Rope workout with Sydney Cummings (although I don't have an actual skipping rope so just did it the Jillian way)

Days exercised 75

roonetta · 18/05/2022 13:03

Meant to say 'ouch' to the construction pipes for foam rolling Motherforkin! 😬

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 19/05/2022 18:09

Yes, it was all very rough and ready Roonetta 😂 and the closest I'll ever come to being ripped slightly less pudgy in my life.

I braved a half hour spinning class at the gym. It was good in spite of the dark, flashy lights and blaring music. Although I've no idea how you do longer, MrO. I'm going to do another class tomorrow, haven't decided what yet.

Days exercised 65

SophieLion · 19/05/2022 19:09

Hope you enjoy your new gym MotherForkin and well done on the spinning! Hope you didn't get saddle sore Grin

Must be the new app/site causing the paragraph issues Roonetta. And thank you for the kind words. I've been trying to exercise as I've been through a really tough time (and still going through) and it helps. I do think the iron series and lifting heavier for shorter periods has made a lot of difference to my body actually.

Had a day off today. Will be up super early tomorrow as one of DCs needs to be at school at 6:30 and planning to exercise when I get back as no point going back to sleep.

MrOllivander · 19/05/2022 22:26

@MotherForkinShirtBalls it's not the easiest! I'm pretty unfit so there's a lot of sweating going on but I do enjoy it

SophieLion · 20/05/2022 07:56

5km fartlek run and iron day 25 (shoulders).

Days exercised 97

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 20/05/2022 12:17

Sorry to hear things are still difficult Sophie Flowers I can understand needing to focus on something to get through a challenging time but I hope you're getting the support you need too.

Unfit and sweaty here too MrO! I did a body pump class today which was a good workout although I had to modify a good few parts of it.

Happy weekend everyone!

Days exercised 66.

MrOllivander · 20/05/2022 12:32

Doing a power zone endurance ride tonight so focused on low zones 2-3 to build endurance

SophieLion · 21/05/2022 08:42

Iron day 24 (full body. Very tough). That's week 5 finished. One more week to go!

Days exercised 98

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 21/05/2022 10:39

Bodyshred week 4 workout 3, second time. One more day and then I have to move to workout 5 (cue ominous music). Had a great time with my sister, but decided not to count the trip to the climbing wall as exercise as it wasn't very difficult. I think JM must be having some effect on my upper body strength, there's now only one wall that I can't do. Last time DD and I went there were three.

Days exercised 79.

MrOllivander · 21/05/2022 14:43

New leggings! Someone used my peloton code so I got £100 to spend on peloton clothing
They're the cadent leggings, mega soft/stretchy and high waisted too (I'm 5ft 10)

Carry on exercising - the October 2021 edition
ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 22/05/2022 10:05

Wow, MrO, those look great! I really envy your height - I'm 5'2" with short legs.

Bodyshred week 4, workout 4 done, second time. On to week 5 tomorrow. Annoyingly I've caught a cold but the symptoms are only above the neck so I can't use it as an excuse for not doing Jillian - had to drink a lot of water during today's workout but was otherwise OK.

Days exercised 80. My goal was 200 for the year, so I'm comfortably on track.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 22/05/2022 13:33

Those leggings are very nice MrO. I'd love to be tall!

Family day yesterday so I got up early this morning to get the dog out for a hill walk. Going to book myself into a class for the morning now so I don't get lazy!

Days exercised 67.

MrOllivander · 22/05/2022 14:25

45 min power zone endurance, 10 miles done
Very warm today!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 23/05/2022 13:35

Very hot and sweaty spin class this morning. I don't know how you manage 10 miles, MrO, I just about survive 30 mins! I know it's only been a week but having the classes structure has really helped me feel like I'm exercising properly again. I booked in for an ass and abs class tomorrow as I was leaving.

Days exercised 68.

MrOllivander · 23/05/2022 15:37

I can manage 60 but 75 mins is the next jump, then 90
I have tonsillitis Angry so no exercise for me

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 24/05/2022 09:03

Bodyshred week 5 workout 5, first time. Not quite so bad as I feared, though I was my usual mal-coordinated mess on the first go through a new workout so I didn’t do as many reps as they did, I was too busy disentangling my feet.

Sorry about your tonsillitis MrO. Hope you feel better soon. My cold took a turn for the worse yesterday so I had an unplanned rest day.

Days exercised 81.
