Ok I know this isn't the point of this thread, but it's confusing the hell out of me.

To get a calorie deficit, I apparently need to have 288g of protein a day. How?! I'm barely making 100g a day! How am I supposed to eat that much protein without eating a cow a day?! 😂

On a better note, went to the gym the past two days, did better last night than Monday night.

It's tricky!
Greek yoghurt
Eggs
Protein shakes (I like the clear whey as you can drink them like squash)
Meat and fish
Quinoa, lentils
Tofu
Nut butters

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 10/08/2022 19:38

I need to stop eating so much sugar before I even think about protein 😩

Swimming today. I added 100m which is good.

Days exercised 106.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 10/08/2022 23:21

Yoga day 15 done last night, forgot to post thanks to jet lag. Hoping to get day 16 done this evening but the hotel room floor looks awfully hard.

I have given up on worrying about food for the summer. I drink a bit more than is good for me, and I could probably cut out some of the crisps, but the motivation to change isn't there. (I am genuinely baffled by the protein, HotWaterBottles; can your body even use that much?)

Hope the osteopath works, roonetta. Mine has really helped my niggly hip.

Days exercised 120.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 11/08/2022 02:19

Yoga day 16 done. Rather feebly- I was right about the floor. But I have done a lot of walking today, so I’m counting it as an exercise day.

Thanks Professor Smile

I am trying to make better food choices but the kids are home and we have a cupboard full of chocolate Grin

30DS L1 D3 done. My thumb has started to hurt now. FFS Angry

It's been too bloody hot to bike! Hoping to get a workout in tomorrow
I've signed up to a spin challenge for September, and then October I'm going to do the strength programme which is 4-6 weeks

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 12/08/2022 11:15

Yes, it's still very hot here too, Pelo, but rain due tomorrow which is badly needed too.

I had a lovely sea swim this morning. Gorgeous sunshine and clear water.

SophieLion · 12/08/2022 16:38

Yesterday a 5km run and yoga class and today 30 mins on cross trainer (followed a programme - was very cool), 15 min run and some abs.

Days exercised 149

ILikeHotWaterBottles · 12/08/2022 21:29

I'm doing the same as you professor, I'm not following that kind of diet. That's insane and I can't be that strict. Chocolate is my weakness and I've been doing better, not eating a bit every day now. 😂

Did another gym session tonight and doing another tomorrow morning.

30 min on the cross trainer sophie?! Wow I am still stuck at 5 mins, I can do 6 on a good day. 😂

Purpleavocado · 13/08/2022 08:58

I'm almost at the end of Sydney Cummings Summertime Fine 3 - 10 more days to go. Its really improved my overall muscle tone, strength and endurance. I'm deciding what to do next.

roonetta · 13/08/2022 12:20

Well done @Purpleavocado. Have you done any Caroline Girvan programmes? She is similar to Sydney.

3 mile WWL and a 10 minute Girvan upper body with light weights.

Days exercised 124

Purpleavocado · 13/08/2022 12:36

I've completed some short Caroline programs. I like her but I do miss form pointers and encouragement through the workout, and doing the same warmup every day. I might fo Epic Heat though.

SophieLion · 13/08/2022 16:39

Well I was a bit clueless with the cross trainer hot water bottles so I put on one of the programmes of the machine and it talked me through and because it was so varied, the time passed very quickly. Was bloody hard though!!

Today 30 min programme on cross trainer and then a girvan arms and shoulders session and some abs.

Days exercised 150

SophieLion · 14/08/2022 16:34

20 mins On Cross trainer, 20 mins on treadmill, 20 mins girvan back and 10 mins girvan abs.

Days exercised 151

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 14/08/2022 22:50

Yoga day 18 done. (I did day 17 yesterday but decided I really couldn’t count it, it was just a session of stretching. Thanks to jet lag and an overnight flight I fell asleep during the lying down bit at the end Blush.)

Sophie, that’s a serious amount of training, I feel very feeble in comparison!

Days exercised 122.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 14/08/2022 23:57

You're turning into a treadmill boss, Sophie! Hope you're not too jetlagged, Professor and you enjoy your holiday.

I spent yesterday and today rearranging furniture and hefting boxes around. I'm sore all over so I'm counting both days! I also managed a short sea swim this morning. It wasn't in my usual spot (the car park I usually use was full, with a queue at 8.35!) so it wasn't as nice underfoot but gorgeous nonetheless.

Days exercised 109

SophieLion · 15/08/2022 13:28

Ha ha 😆 No it's only because we're on hols in a resort so I have some more time to devote to exercise. As from tomorrow we're on an island so doubt much will be happening. And then back to 30 mins workouts in Athens!

Sounds like day 17 was very relaxing Professor Wink

Is it super hot in Ireland too MotherForkin?

PeloAddict · 15/08/2022 17:39

30 min bike
10 min focus flow yoga (focused on back)

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 16/08/2022 09:46

Yoga day 19 done (last night). The jet lag hasn’t been too bad, happily, mainly because there hasn’t been any reason to get up early - thank heaven DD is past the age of needing one of us to get up with her at the crack of dawn. These days she gets up by herself, not at the crack of dawn, and watches YouTube videos.

I brought a Jillian DVD with me, but we’re in a flat and there are warnings up about not jumping up and down because the neighbours complain. So yoga it is.

Days exercised 123.

PeloAddict · 16/08/2022 10:32

I couldn't cool down last night and got 3hrs sleep Hmm

Going to do a quick 10 min yoga flow later and get an early night

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 16/08/2022 23:07

Sorry you’re suffering in the heat, Pelo. I missed the worst of the heatwave as I was away for work, now I’m down in Cornwall and there are floods!

Yoga day 20 done. Felt really hard even though it was a short one.

Days exercised 124.

PeloAddict · 16/08/2022 23:08

Definitely feels cooler today, I took a day off to prioritise sleep!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 17/08/2022 09:57

It went from hottest days on record in August (30+) on Thursday, Sophie, to 15 today! We had a lot of much needed rain over Sunday night and Monday. Looks like more today. I'm jealous of how easy it is for you to nip off to "an island"! Enjoy it.

I was very lazy the last couple of days (I think perimenopause is kicking in, periods are wiping me out in the last few months) but got in an early spin class this morning. I need to work out which instructors do which days. I seem to get the same guy every morning session I do and it's getting boring and shouty.

Hope your holiday is good Professor. Kids sorting themselves in the morning became my new holiday bliss when it happened 😀

Did you get a good night's sleep Pelo?

Days exercised 110

roonetta · 17/08/2022 12:34

The cooler days are such a relief Smile
