Day off today for a date - I finish work at 6.30 and can't fit a peloton ride in!

SophieLion · 10/03/2022 08:17

Enjoy your date pawpaws!

5km interval run today and a short Caroline girvan abs and core workout.

Days exercised 51

SophieLion · 11/03/2022 08:21

Endgame day 34 full body pyramid sets (can't stand Bulgarian lunges) and a Rebecca Louise lower abs workout (not sure I can stand her either - she didn't stop blabbering the whole way through).

Days exercised 52

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 11/03/2022 08:51

KA L3D2 done. Marginally better the second time round, it might be all the unplanned rest days. Work went a bit mad this week and exercise went out of the window, apart from walking to and from the Tube. I wish I liked exercise, I’d find it easier to make time for it if I did.

I can’t do a wheel either, roonetta, let alone a wheel push-up. I think my shoulders are too inflexible. She has them in one of the other DVDs as well as Bodyshred- - possibly Body Rev? I started Bodyshred about this time last year and got to weeks 3 and 4, then my brother was taken ill and I dropped it and didn’t go back. Even the third and fourth workouts were hard and I was utterly dreading weeks 5 and 6.

How did the date go, pawpaws?

Days exercised 39. Well done Sophie on getting past 50!

pawpaws2022 · 11/03/2022 10:11

Date was lovely Smile he's such a nice guy and really thoughtful

SophieLion · 11/03/2022 13:11

He sounds lovely pawpaws Smile

Thank you professor. I think that killer buns and thighs has the wheel (not wheel push up!) in L3. Or maybe it's no more trouble zones or extreme shed or shred.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 11/03/2022 13:15

Sweet jesus, those wheel push ups are mental! I haven't been able to do a bridge since I was 10, let alone adding a push up Blush

Your date sounds lovely, pawpaws, glad you enjoyed it.

I'm on my second antibiotic in a week and I'm totally wiped out so I'm taking this week off. In good news I'm finally seeing the consultant about my shoulder on Monday and with a bit of luck I'll have some sort of plan to sort it out after that.

Happy weekend everyone Wine

pawpaws2022 · 11/03/2022 19:41

Not my best effort but my first 30 min spin

Carry on exercising - the October 2021 edition
ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 12/03/2022 09:36

Well done, pawpaws! Glad the date was good too.

KA L3D3 done. I think the reason this one is so awful is that all the most difficult moves are in the third and fourth circuits. The first two are tough but do-able, then she wants you to do clapping mountain climbers and one-legged burpee push-ups when you already want the damn thing to be over. I've decided to do RI30 next, which will take me neatly to the Easter holidays if I skip L4 (it's hard on the knees and mine are a bit dodgy), then start Bodyshred in mid-April after we get back.

Motherforkin, so sorry you're feeling rubbish - two lots of antibiotics sounds pretty bad. Hope the consultant can sort your shoulder! roonetta, hope your arm is easing off.

Days exercised 40. Must do another 15 before 1st April - tough but achievable, I think.

SophieLion · 13/03/2022 11:25

Good luck with the shoulder MotherForkin. And hope you feel better soon.

Congrats on your first 30 mins spin pawpaws 👏🏻👏🏻

Did endgame day 35 today - Tabata HIIT. The finisher was 50 plank to crouch and then 50 plank to tuck. I did 15 or so plank to crouch and realised it was going to take forever and was very boring so I didn't do anymore. Lost all my motivation. First time I didn't do a finisher. Did a short lilly sabri abs workout instead.

Days exercised 53

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 13/03/2022 13:33

KA L3D4 done. Really not good today, I fell over twice and had to have a break for water in the middle. Sophie those finishers just sound horrendously boring and pointless, I'm amazing you've stuck with them this far.

Days exercised 41.

pawpaws2022 · 14/03/2022 09:34

Quick 10 min spin yesterday just to flush my legs out really, it had some single leg drills which were fun

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 14/03/2022 15:41

Hope you're OK not too bumped after your falls, Professor! Is a single leg drill, single leg spinning, pawpaws? I don't think I'd manage that at all!

I actually ended up going for a very gentle run yesterday and felt great for it. The shoulder consultant this morning wants to start with conservative approach (and hopefully avoid surgery completely) so gave me two cortisone injections into separate parts of the joint. Even with the local anesthetic in the dose, I'm absolutely aching so taking it easy today and probably tomorrow too.

Days exercised 33.

pawpaws2022 · 14/03/2022 17:03

Yep! You can either unclip from the other pedal or just kind of let your leg float around but you push with one leg

SophieLion · 14/03/2022 17:34

What did he say is wrong with your shoulder MotherForkin? Those injections sound painful. I hope they work 🤞🏻

That sounds like it would make the spinning more interesting pawpaws. A bit of variety is always nice.

Some of the finishers are ok professor but others do seem pointless.... oh falling over in a workout isn't good. I've done that in squats sometimes - try to put too much weight in my heels and topple backwards. What were you doing when you fell?

This morning day 36 shoulders. Was good actually and passed quickly. Even better!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 14/03/2022 19:06

The radiography consultant who read the MRI said there was a full thickness tear of my rotator cuff tendon, Sophie but the orthopaedic consultant today said it's not torn, just worn and nothing substantial to worry about. She said the issue is actually inflammation around the joint because it is my range of motion that's the issue while my power is still good (which was what my physio thought most likely too). The steroids should take down the inflammation enough to allow the physio and rehab to work more effectively to strengthen the joint and stabilise my shoulder blade. I have to give this 8-10 weeks to see how it goes and she'll do another round of injections (3 max) if pain returns. Surgery is a very last resort. I hope she's right, I really want to get back to proper training, and I really want to get back in the pool!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 14/03/2022 21:22

KA L3D5 done. Calling that a day, it’s too miserable. (I didn’t have far to fall, both times I fell over were from variations on a plank. Today I managed to stay in position, but my balance is rubbish and she has you doing alternating kicks in side plank, and an ab hold on one arm and the opposite leg with the other arm and leg moving in and out to the side.) Planned rest day tomorrow.

Really hope the injections do the trick, MotherForkin.

Days exercised 42.

roonetta · 15/03/2022 12:51

Wow lots to catch up on since my last post. Well done ladies.

Hope the injections work Motherforkin

Walk to/from work Friday and Monday.

Today: 20 minute Girvan arms and shoulder workout (with lighter weights) and 1 mile WWL

Days exercised 37

SophieLion · 16/03/2022 07:18

Thank you for the explanation MotherForkin. Fingers crossed the steroid injections sort out he problem and you'll be back to swimming soon.

Didn't sleep at all night before last so couldn't face exercise yesterday. Today endgame day 37 (lower body) and a short abs workout.

Days exercised 55

roonetta · 16/03/2022 11:17

Two 15 minute Girvan workouts; full body resistance band and a dumbbell HIIT.

Days exercised 38

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 16/03/2022 21:48

RI30 L1D1 done. A nice break after KA L3, and I even managed two full sets of proper push-ups.

Days exercised 43.

SophieLion · 17/03/2022 09:26

Well done on the proper push ups professor!! 👏🏻 👏🏻

Endgame day 38 arms and abs today. My triceps are pathetic: she was using 8kg. I was using 3kg for lots of the tricep exercises and they still hurt!!

Days exercised 56

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 18/03/2022 09:01

RI30 L1D2 done. Sophie, if it’s any consolation my triceps are pathetic too (but not as pathetic as my anterior deltoids). I was using 3kgs for the triceps exercises today and if I’d used anything heavier I wouldn’t have been able to complete the set.

Days exercised 44.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 18/03/2022 10:26

Very lazy week so short run this morning to get me going again.

All triceps work is awful, 3kg seems a very good weight to me!

Days exercised 34

SophieLion · 18/03/2022 10:51

Endgame day 39 - full body Calisthenics. This was a nice workout (but very tough) and passed quickly. My arms and legs are still sore from the sessions earlier in the week.

Are the anterior deltoids worked with chest exercises professor or with shoulder ones?

How is the shoulder feeling MotherForkin? When does doctor think you might have improvement?
