Congrats on your official graduation @NoTeaForMe!

PrincessWatermelon · 24/06/2020 07:51

I have new running shorts arrived ready for this morning's run. Very excited. I had been looking at proper running websites, but the patterns/colours I liked were out of stock. Knowing the weather this week, I got seduced by the promise of next day delivery with Amazon Prime. Smile

Here's to cool legs!!

GuyFawkesDay · 24/06/2020 08:36

Whoop, well done @NoTeaForme!!!

W4r2 completed today. I went to a local park and it was nice to have a change of scenery and not have to worry about roads. One more run and I’ll be halfway through!

PrincessWatermelon · 24/06/2020 11:20

@NoTeaForMe, sorry I missed your completion! Congrats! Nice to do that 5k, and it doesn't matter how long it takes.

That reminds me - I said to my DH that it's unusual to complete 5k in 30 mins, that it takes much more work to do that. He was surprised, and pointed out the programme is C25k. It ought to be called couch to 30 min running!! I'm not wrong, am I?

W6R1 today - harder than I expected, after doing 20 mins 2 days ago. Maybe it's the interval thing or the heat won't have helped. New running shorts not ideal, as they rode up so much and I had a bunch of material practically in my fanny!! At least my legs were cool though!!

JonHammIsMyJamm · 24/06/2020 11:52

You aren’t wrong, @PrincessWatermelon but it’s not as catchy Grin

GuyFawkesDay · 24/06/2020 12:55

@PrincessWatermelon I found week 6 hellish. Weirdly intervals were harder than just running 🤷‍♀️

Stopthehop · 24/06/2020 15:34

@PrincessWatermelon i hated wk 6 run 1 too, I found it so hard.

Sexnotgender · 24/06/2020 15:42

Meant to run today but got a cracking headache and am on annual leave tomorrow so will run then. Plus it’s absolutely ROASTING out there. I’m Scottish, I might melt in the heat.

TryingToBeBold · 24/06/2020 18:01

Week 6is hard! I couldn't complete! But managed 25mins?

TryingToBeBold · 24/06/2020 18:02

Intervals are hard. As soon as I stop a run I know no matter how much or little I walk I will not match that run again

resipsa · 24/06/2020 18:02

Wow, this one is running and running (pun intended). I started Thread 1 and just thought I'd pop back in to say hello and, by way of motivation, to share than I ran my first 10K today (after starting C25k on 13 March and completing it on 3 May). Not fast at 75 mins but, hell, a lot faster than I would have been a few months ago. Keep going everyone 🏃‍♀️!

TryingToBeBold · 24/06/2020 18:39

@resipsa bloody well done!
It's always fantastic to see a graduate come back with their progress

ThickFast · 24/06/2020 19:19

Oh wow! 10k!

PrincessWatermelon · 24/06/2020 19:39

Thanks @resipsa, nice to hear from you and receive the encouragement. I'm half way through c25k and have signed up for a 10k on 6th Sept. So super encouraging to hear that you've done it! Did you use another programme to get you from 5 to 10k?

UnaOfStormhold · 24/06/2020 21:28

That is inspiring resipsa!

I'm still hot from tonight's run even after 20 mins of yoga to cool down. But overall a good run tonight despite the heat, the shoes and period cramps. It's so nice to discover bits of the neighbourhood I've never been through before - between running and lockdown walks I know it all so much better. I went past another woman who was walking very purposefully in running shoes and a phone holder - I asked if she was C25king and it turned out she was on week 6!

Anyway, stretches done, time for a cooling shower and then this tired runner (who me?!) is off to bed.

BookShop · 24/06/2020 22:53

Well done @resipsa 😁 amazing!

whenwillthemadnessend · 24/06/2020 22:53

Can I join you ? I'm on run 4 week two tomz.

Sexnotgender · 25/06/2020 08:07

Of course! I’m doing the same run today.
Stopthehop · 25/06/2020 08:56

I just did wk 6 run 3 I'm melting! I found I got my rhythm and ran the 25 minutes easily. I think I'm better without the intervals.

NCTDN · 25/06/2020 09:04

I've just completed the week 6 run 2- decided to go before it was too hot and it was still melting!
I made a huge mistake though. I wore shorts to keep cooler. However I hadn't anticipated how they would ride up and I got major chub rub. Blush my legs are all red now and I know it's going to sting in the shower. Big mistake. Huge!

NCTDN · 25/06/2020 09:05

Well done Stop. Was trying to do the same as you but missed a couple of days because of early starts at work and then hot nights.

mumto2unicorns · 25/06/2020 09:15

Just completed w4r1 this morning. Got out early as it is going to be hot today. Can't believe I managed to do it. Had to take a detour on my 5 min walk to get milk and when I got home my husband said my face was beetroot so don't want to know what the person in the shop thought of me

Sexnotgender · 25/06/2020 11:52

Just putting the baby down for a nap then will go do W4R2.

FloatOn · 25/06/2020 12:22

Got up early and did W5 R2 this morning, this is really not like me I normally lounge in bed until I have to get up!
And dare I say it, I actually enjoyed running this morning. Bizarre, do you think Sarah Milligan is slowing hypnotising me?!
