Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

Good evening fellow warriors! Hope everyone had a joyous Christmas with food and drink flowing freely (a little too freely in the Cardigan household...).

Well done to you all for battling on through the festivities. You are freakin' AWESOME!

Completed Ri30 L1 Days 8, 9 & 10 in the last 4 days and walked a total of 13.5 miles.

Have decided to do 10 days at each level of Ri30 (now rechristened Ri40!), which means that I start Level 2 tomorrow, so I share your trepidation, roonetta!

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas! Hope you all had as nice a time as you possibly could this year. Roll on 2021 - sick to death of 2020...
I'm afraid I've been pretty rubbish exercise-wise, with my husband's 50th birthday and then Xmas - but I have to say that even a few days of RI30 Level 1 seems to have stopped my stomach expanding quite as much as normal! I lost count as to how many days I had done on L1, so moved up to Level 2 today. Youch. The cardio combos are deadly (couldn't manage all the last set of mountain climbers), and the squat jumps. Yuck.
Can I just ask what weights you're all using for RI30? I only used 2kg today, but can still feel it.
The sun is out so I'm planning a long walk later to make the most of it.

Very impressed with how dedicated you all are (half marathons as well). Well done! Off for a shower now before I collapse in a heap on the kitchen floor....

I think the highest weight I used for Ri30 was 3kgs puppydog but dropped to lower for some of the moves. My upper body strength isn’t great and I know some of the other ladies can lift much more.

BS WO3 done. Ouch, that was brutal. There are moves I will never be able to achieve and I modified lots of things. Who’d have thought you could have surrenders, sit to kneel and camel all in a single move!! I will be sore tomorrow 😟

That’s my 2020 target completed (I exercised on 250 days and did 250 hours of exercise in 2020). I might take a couple of rest days and decide what my 2021 target should be.

Hey PuppyDog - Hell's teeth, how freakin' hard is Ri30 L2??? I struggled with some of the moves and had to modify (lower back issues - plus I ain't no spring chicken), but still found it really difficult. I'd like to meet the sadist who came up with the notion of crow push ups and shake them warmly by the throat! 🤬

I've been using 2.27kg dumbbells throughout Ri30, although I upped to 6.6kg for strength circuit 2 on Level 1.

There are moves I will never be able to achieve and I modified lots of things. I hear, ya roonetta! Well done for getting through it though.

BS WO4 done. Who knew there were so many different types of burpee? A different one for each of the four cardio sections. Phew 😰

Can somebody help me please?! I've started the rtft but I just need to know who Jillian is, and what to download on Amazon video to get fitter and slimmer. Not gonna lie, I'm also in intrigued by all of the sayings Grin

Hi @JustAPassingFashion - Jillian Michaels is an American fitness instructor who used to be on the series The Biggest Loser. She has lots of DVDs and I have attached a list of them. The abbreviations just make it easier for us when we are typing it as some of the workout titles are a bit long winded 😆. So NMTZ = No More Trouble Zones, Ri30 = Ripped in 30 etc.

Jillian has an App which has all these workouts on and more including meal planning. You can get some of her workouts on YouTube. I’m not sure about Amazon video. You can also get all her workouts on a website called Bilibili.com which is Chinese YouTube. Once in the website it is all in Chinese but if you search Jillian Michaels in the search bar all her workouts will come up.

I’m going to aim for 250 days (again). With a minimum of 200 hours of exercise (hopefully 250 hours).

I’m also going to have a specific monthly target. I’m going to start out gently for January and go for 10,000 steps per day (which will involve upping my activity level - Jillian DVDs involve remarkably few steps).

First exercise session of 2021: 30DS L1D1 & KB&T L1D1 (65 min)

Sorry to be a downer, but I need to bow out for a bit. My deeply beloved little old dog went downhill very suddenly yesterday and we had to make the worst decision late last night. I've barely slept or eaten and I'm worn out with crying. Rubbish end to a truly rubbish year and I'm not liking 2021 very much so far either.

Supposed to be a rest day today but a live workout from someone I follow on Instagram popped up so I tried it. Was like doing Jillian’s warm-up - didn’t even break a sweat 😆. Not sure I can count it as a day exercised Hmm
