Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

Ooh my old friends! I used to love these workouts.

Maybe I need to dig out my old DVDs

catnidge · 17/04/2020 13:15

We worked out Natalie and Anita again today.
Been doing a mix of Hasfit, jillian, fitness blender and Joe wicks.
It's like having friends round Grin

catnidge · 17/04/2020 13:16

Worked out with Blush

ShleeAnKree · 17/04/2020 13:18

Omg as soon as you said those names i was brought back!!

ShleeAnKree · 17/04/2020 13:19

Ive no dvd player! They used all to be on youtube.
I need to do them again.

Ten years ago i was a warrior but id take it easy now in case i injured myself

Todayisanewday75 · 18/04/2020 17:40

I’ve done five days on level one. Gave my dvd away after the last time I did it as I thought I’d never want to do it again. Bought it this time on Amazon video, £4.99 and the added bonus that you can skip the introduction

HermioneWeasley · 18/04/2020 17:47

Today - when are you thinking of moving up to level 2?

RoscoePColtrane · 18/04/2020 17:59

Ugh I'm back on this as of monday, although last time I did it (before a period of ill chub inducing health), I did mostly L1 with bits of 2 and 3 as cant do press ups, too much knee stuff etc. Does work so well though, so definitely worth it. And I can do it with the sound off and music on which is better.

catinb0oots · 18/04/2020 18:09

Oh I love the shred is completely forgotten about it until I saw this thread!

Does anyone know if it's on YouTube?

Todayisanewday75 · 19/04/2020 07:21

I’m going to stick to ten days on each level and up my weights throughout each level to push myself

AnnaNimmity · 19/04/2020 07:26

me too! Did it post pregnancy (dd4 is nearly 8 now) and have restarted. Also done 2 days of level 2 now. Level 2 is tough! It's so funny that even after 8 years I can remember the moves and Jillian's script.

AnnaNimmity · 19/04/2020 07:26

i'm also doing 10 days of each level.

glitterbiscuits · 19/04/2020 07:37

Does it work? I started ages ago but never gone past level one. I have the time now...but not so much inclination as years ago.
I wonder if m knees are up to it again?

Todayisanewday75 · 19/04/2020 07:45

Glitter I had the dvd for years and never got past level 1 then about 18 months ago I forced myself to do the full 30 days. Not sure if I lost any weight but I did get comments from friends saying that I looked like I had. And it felt like quite an achievement after the years of level 1!

FauxFox · 19/04/2020 07:51

I am half way through level 2 - last did it about 12 years ago... it is hard! Am determined not to become a fat cow in this lockdown though and it’s only 20 mins so I can quickly get started and get through it before really realising 🤣

FlosCampi · 19/04/2020 07:54

"Phoning it in at the gym" is actually one of the phrases I remember from these videos! The other being "your neck is not invited to this party". Level 3 is easier than level 2 i found, maybe because there's less planking.

FauxFox · 19/04/2020 07:56

Don’t forget “you are strong! This is eeeeeasy for yoou!” @FlosCampi 😁

Kangourou · 19/04/2020 08:05

I was wondering if there would be a thread! I'm up to day 7 of level 2. I did the entire thing last summer to get back into shape when I was due to go back to work after maternity leave and remember one day noticing I had an actual waist which I hadn't even had pre-pregnancy Grin so it definitely works. It's hard though. I like the familiarity of knowing what's coming next once you've done a couple of days on a level. I'm doing 10 days per level, one day off a week, usually when my daughter has had me up in the night and I'm too knackered to shred!

CadburySpira · 19/04/2020 08:17

I’ve been doing this again too, going to stick to level 1 for a while, I’m at Natalie’s level for squats but Anita’s for everything else! Does everyone wear trainers to do this at home? I’ve been lazy and doing it bare foot but my feet and ankles are aching.

Kangourou · 19/04/2020 11:05

I wear trainers because I find it hard on the knees otherwise. I find it more of a mental effort getting myself motivated to get changed to do the workout than the workout itself!

HermioneWeasley · 19/04/2020 12:28

Definitely trainers and I do all the jumpy stuff on a yoga mat or it’s too hard on the knees otherwise

OP posts:
CadburySpira · 19/04/2020 12:30

That is so true Kangourou hence the lazy not wearing of trainers for me! Maybe I'll keep a pair in the bedroom, where I do my workout. At least as no one can see me I can get away with just wearing a sports bra and shorts so I don't get too hot (and not so much washing)!

CadburySpira · 19/04/2020 12:32

Thanks HermioneWeasley I might try that too, I've been meaning to get myself a new yoga mat, although at least I have carpet in the bedroom.

Kangourou · 19/04/2020 14:15

Yeah I do it in my bedroom too and store my trainers and weights in there. Did day 8 on level 2 earlier, starting to dread the step up to level 3. All I remember from last time round is all the jumping. And Natalie doing sit-ups without a piece of furniture holding her feet down Shock

HelloTerrance · 19/04/2020 15:59

I love a bit of Jillian, I have been mixing up workouts rather than completing a specific routine but Jillian is in there, one week shred and no more trouble zones so far with some Les Mills.
