Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

I also lose inches cardigans. I am finding the Shred tough on my knees this time around though, but that’s probably my age 😳. She always seems to know when I am struggling and gives one of her brilliant pep talks.

I can’t wait to put our tree up too Algonquin but my DH is a grinch so have to wait until December ☹️ I second NMTZ or BFBM but they are a bit longer.

30DS L2 (D25) done followed by a 2 mile ‘Walk with Leslie’.

AlgonquinBay · 29/11/2020 20:59

Never heard of 'Walk with Leslie' roonetta so just googled it - looks awesome, I'm going to try that soon!!

Did L2 of RI30 today - thanks for the suggestions guys - NMTZ and BFBM are next on my list but needed something a bit more familiar this morning as had a bit of a hangover Confused - too many glasses of wine on our zoom quiz last night unfortunately.

Anyway, I'm all good now and I have decorated the tree and the rest of the house (with a tiny bit of help from the DS's) so we are all Christmassy here now SmileSmile.

Left to his own devices, I don't think my DH would put any decorations up at all, but he always jokes that I have more electoral college votes than anyone else in the house so I generally get to make those decisions (a small perk of being the only female in the house).

ilovecardigans · 29/11/2020 23:31

Me too, roonetta. I think I may need to start taking glucosamine/chondroitin supplements to ease my creaking joints.

Yay for Christmassyness (I have a Grinch at home too)! 🎅🎄⭐❄⛄

3 mile brisk walk

TinyHouseFan · 30/11/2020 10:47

Still making amazing progress ladies, you're all leaving me behind. I obviously need the structure and accountability of a program because I only managed 2 sessions of 6W6P last week.
I did how do an 8km, a 10km, an 11km and my longest run this morning, a 14km.

I am increasing my running milage pretty substantially as I want to real try and do the half marathon I've set myself but I really want to keep up the Hiit so I don't get injured. I think I'll do BR or 30DS again. I'm not liking 6W6P that much..

roonetta · 30/11/2020 13:35

I'm impressed at you doing L2 Ri30 with a hangover Algonquin! I love "Walk with Leslie" as it is a nice slow burn and while I don't feel like I am going to die while doing it, my watch tells me I burn loads of calories. I think I can credit Leslie with losing the pounds when I was stuck in a plateau. A word of warning though, she can be quite annoying Confused

I think two days of 6w6p and four massive runs definitely means you are in front rather than behind us Tiny! I know what you mean about structure though. I think once I have finished 30DS, I am going to have a go at Body Shred, but rather than do it every day, I might just do it 3/4 times a week as my poor body is exhausted Blush, so it will probably take me twice as long.

30DS L3 (D26) done

OublietteBravo · 30/11/2020 19:47

I’m back and being less pathetic today. Continuing with Ri30 - just done L4D3 and also KAbs L1

ilovecardigans · 30/11/2020 21:48

That's a full marathon you've run in the last week, Tiny, so don't sell yourself short!

Weather was rubbish today, so I decided to give myself a day off walking.

30DS L1 Day 25 done 👍

TinyHouseFan · 01/12/2020 12:08

Thanks Cardigans, when you put it like that, I'm feeling prouder of myself!!
Managed to get myself out of bed early this morning and did WO7 from BR this morning.

roonetta · 01/12/2020 13:10

30DS L1 (D27) done along with a 4 mile walk with Leslie

roonetta · 02/12/2020 13:42

Yay, I'm proud of us all too cardigans - what warriors we are StarStarGlitterball Have you decided what your next challenge will be? I am going to try Body Shred but cut down on my days. I am finding it a real slog doing Jillian every day, but might still do some Walking with Leslie on my non-Jillian days. I don't think I have the dedication to take a break, I am sure I wouldn't start back up again!

TheDogsMother · 02/12/2020 13:54

Hello all. This thread just popped up again and I realised its been months since I last commented. I'm still doing the JM VIP calendar and am getting better results with this than when going it alone. December is great. Its a mix up of everything so this week so far has been Ripped in 30 L1, Kickbox Fast Fix L1 and Killer Buns and Thighs L1. Next year's calendar has arrived so I will keep on going. During this latest lockdown I set myself a 100 mile walking challenge. Its only about 3.8 miles per day but every singe day. I completed that yesterday.

OublietteBravo · 02/12/2020 20:08

Ri30 L4D5 and 6W6P L1

I might try the 100 mile walking challenge in 2021 @TheDogsMother. It sounds doable and might get me out of the house a bit (I’ve been WFH since 13 March - no sign of the office re-opening any time soon).

TheDogsMother · 02/12/2020 22:03

@OublietteBravo It's given me a bit of focus. Sadly we had to say goodbye to our dog of 15 years in April so it makes sure we keep up the walking we used to have to do every day when he was with us.

ilovecardigans · 02/12/2020 22:54

Hi DogsMother, the VIP calendar sounds interesting. I'll look that up. So sorry for the loss of your dog. My old girl turned 16 in September and she can only manage a half mile snuffly bimble, so I do a decent walk by myself afterwards. I do miss her company though.🐾

I'm thinking Ripped in 30 (doing 5 days a week) for my next challenge, roonetta. I'm going to have a break from Jillian for week or two, but will keep up the walking and change it up with some of the new Les Mills workouts. Have decided to keep my gym membership frozen for now as Mr Cardigan isn't keen on me going back at present. Ho hum... 🤨

30DS L3 Day 27 done 👍
5.5 mile brisk walk

OublietteBravo · 03/12/2020 19:29

Ri30 L4D6 and 6W6P L2. Quite impressed with myself for doing some exercise even though I was feeling tired. It would’ve been so easy to take a rest day.

roonetta · 03/12/2020 20:53

Hi @TheDogsMother, sorry to hear about the loss of your dog 🙁. Are you on the Jillian FB page? I only ask because of the VIP calendar. I was tempted to get one myself but faffed about too long before the deadline.

I also like the sound of 100 mile challenge but mine would probably be done using the walk with Leslie programme rather than walking outside. Maybe that will be my 2021 challenge.

Well done on getting some exercise in Oubliette. It’s tough talking ourselves into getting started sometimes but I always feel smug afterwards. Two impressive workouts too!

No Jillian today due to my knee complaining so did a 4 mile boosted walk with Leslie instead.

ilovecardigans · 03/12/2020 22:17

Taking a break from Jillian today before the final onslaught.

4 mile brisk walk (so, so cold and it rained on the way back - bah! 🌧)

AlgonquinBay · 03/12/2020 22:59

Well done everyone, I had a couple of rest days this week as started a new job and have been snowed under, but back to Jillian today with L1 6W6P. No running this week yet but it's not stopped raining here and I can't stand running in the rain.

Like the sound of that calendar @TheDogsMother sounds a good way to mix it up. Sorry for the loss of your dogSad

TheDogsMother · 04/12/2020 08:07

Thank you @AlgonquinBay and @roonetta. Re the calendar it's a Facebook group called Jillian Michaels Workout Junkies and as of a few days ago they still had a few calendars available.

AlgonquinBay · 04/12/2020 13:12

Ah thanks @TheDogsMother - I deactivated my Facebook so I guess I won't be getting one! Sounds fun though Smile

I am so taken with Jillian after doing the 30 days in lockdown that I have this morning downloaded her app to help me keep on it!

TheDogsMother · 04/12/2020 13:37

@AlgonquinBay I'm hooked on Jillian too but old school with a big pile of DVDs 🤣

OublietteBravo · 04/12/2020 18:56

Ri30 L4D7 and KAbs L1. I think I’m going to take tomorrow as a rest day. Hopefully I’ll manage to motivate myself to exercise on Sunday though.

ilovecardigans · 04/12/2020 20:31

I hate walking in the rain, Algonquin (specs wearer) and it's been tipping it down all day here. Absolutely filthy day.

30 DS L1 Day 28 done 👍
NMTZ L7

Had a look at Walk With Leslie on YouTube, roonetta and I think it'll be perfect on days like today, when it's just too cold and wet to walk outside.

Hope you all have a fab weekend. 😘
