Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

Glad your mood has lifted cardigans Smile

30DS L1 (D21) done

AlgonquinBay · 23/11/2020 16:30

Inspired by @OublietteBravo I did RI30 L1 and 6W6P this morning 💪🏼 after having Sunday as a rest day. (Not much resting involved as we were decorating but no Jillian!).

Looks like the gyms are re-opening in December but I'm getting quite used to these online workouts - not sure I'll ever go back now

OublietteBravo · 23/11/2020 20:07

I had to fit exercise around (virtual) parents evening. So a shorter session. Strength: NMTZ.

ilovecardigans · 23/11/2020 21:37

30DS L1 Day 19 done 👍
NMTZ L7

Been offered a free two week trial of FIIT TV, so might try some of the workouts on there after I finish 30DS.

TinyHouseFan · 24/11/2020 08:08

Total rest day for me yesterday but I started 6W6P this morning. It's very distracting looking at Jillian with her long hair / extensions.. It seems really dated, does anyone know if it's one of her first ones?

Anyway, my abs feel OK but my shoulders are tired from the plank exercises.

What's level 2 like Algonequin and do you alternate 1, 2, 1, 2 do the full 6 weeks?

roonetta · 24/11/2020 13:45

Grin at Jillian's hair extensions Tiny - I think it is definitely one of her earlier DVDs.

Will be interested to know what FIIT TV is like cardigans if you decide to do it.

30DS L2 (D22) done. Struggling with motivation at the moment - have really had to push myself the last few days to even get started. Only another 8 days to go. Not sure what to do next Confused

OublietteBravo · 24/11/2020 19:47

Ri30 L3D8 and KAbs L2. I’m definitely glad to see the back of L3. Onwards to L4 (which I can’t remember anything about - hmmm).

roonetta · 24/11/2020 20:13

L4 is a breath of fresh air compared to L3 Oubliette 😀

ilovecardigans · 24/11/2020 20:28

30DS L3 Day 20 done 👍
5.5 mile brisk walk

Will keep you posted re FIIT TV, when I get started, roonetta. Sorry to hear you're having a bit of a motivation slump. You've done so brilliantly - just keep reminding yourself of how much you've achieved and maybe promise yourself something nice to treat yourself to when you've finished this round of 30DS. Some gorgeous perfume, some beautiful flowers, or even a mini bottle of champagne? 🎁💐🍾

AlgonquinBay · 24/11/2020 21:43

Day 20 here and I did RI30 L2 which was hard but ok.

I haven't tried level 2 of 6W6P @TinyHouseFan - so I can't advise. I think you're supposed to stick to level 1 for 3 weeks and then move up to L2 for the last 3 weeks, but doing the same workout for 3 weeks seems a bit too samey, I think I would get bored. I have to say, it threw me a bit when I thought it was all over and then you have to repeat everything again!!

And the hair and makeup too ShockGrin

TinyHouseFan · 25/11/2020 08:11

Did 6W6P level 2 this morning, man she really ramps it up from level 1- and I'm not a beginner! There's no real description of the moves, she just shouts "lighthouses" or something and off you go so I managed to smash my 5kg dumbbell straight into my knee - ouch!

I really can't see myself doing just those 2 workouts for 6 weeks so I guess I'll mix it up with something else.
Gotta try a run this evening too though..

Roonetta I think we're all feeling a bit blah right now, a combo of lockdown, winter, dark days, etc.. It's hard but you can do it..

roonetta · 25/11/2020 13:22

Thanks ladies. I am having some issues with my DS and school at the moment too, with lots of kids constantly calling him ‘gay’ which he is now growing tired of. That’s not helping the motivation but I still got L3 (D23) done today, although I might have phoned it in a bit 😳

I don’t like the sound of L2 6W6P Tiny! Hope your knee is okay.

ilovecardigans · 25/11/2020 17:19

Sorry that your son is having a hard time at school roonetta. Kids can be so bloody cruel. Poor lad. Sad

Yep, blah kind of sums up everything at the moment, Tiny. I keep looking for as many positives as I can each day. Today the sun was shining and Mr Cardigan had a day off, so we had a lovely woodland walk. And my little old dog met her oldest chum, whom she hadn't seen for ages, so there was lots of squeaking and excited tail wagging. Looking forward to a gigantic cup of tea and an episode of The Crown later. Ah, my rock n' roll life... 🤘🎸

30DS L3 Day 21 done 👍
3.5 mile walk

TinyHouseFan · 25/11/2020 18:57

Cardigans , that's a great approach, looking for the small positives every day. The sun was shining here and we had really good (virtual) parent teacher meetings for both kids.

Roonetta, that's crap for your son. Whatever amount you're worrying about, I hope he's not feeling too bad. Will you contact the school if it continues? My kids are smaller and I'm in Ireland so I don't know how it works where you are.

8km run here.. Knee appears to be fine after my early morning smash.

OublietteBravo · 25/11/2020 19:41

I moved up to level 4. It wasn’t as bad as I feared. Ri30 L4D1 and 6W6P L1.

OublietteBravo · 26/11/2020 19:24

Ow - my upper arms ache after yesterday’s session. (I blame the chaturanga push-ups in Ri30 L4). So I did a shorter cardio circuit this evening: BFBM

ilovecardigans · 26/11/2020 23:34

30DS L1 Day 22 done 👍
5 mile walk

Struggling to find any positives today. Going into Tier 3 next week because we've been lumped in with Newcastle, despite living in semi-rural north Northumberland. Our so-called MP is an absolute bloody disgrace.

Oh - one positive. My anger is positively powering me through my workouts! 🤬

roonetta · 27/11/2020 07:08

Tiny I am torn between informing the school and running the risk of making things worse for DS as he will then be called a “snitch”. Trying to equip him with one comebacks, but if it continues I think I’ll have no choice but to involve the school.

Good ole chaturangas Oubliette. At least you can be sure it’s working Grin

We are also going into Tier 3 cardigans, which is impressive since we were only in Tier 1 before the lockdown! Christmas can’t come soon enough, if only so I can eat my weight in celebrations (sorry for using the C word) 😀

Didn’t do Jillian yesterday as we had our awful annual general meeting over zoom which went on and on so I did a 3 mile Pilates walk with Leslie. Rest day for me today as I am in the office.

TinyHouseFan · 27/11/2020 10:36

It sounds like Covid restrictions are really getting to people now. Everyone I spoke to in real life this week is feeling the same. Here in Ireland, we've been in a national lockdown for the last 6 weeks, but as far as I know, the government are due to announce a relaxed status from next Tuesday. Fingers crossed we can get out and at least meet some people in small groups.

Rest day here this morning as I was up till 1am on a college assignment and I'm planning to run 10km this evening - although it's absolutely freezing here so I'm dreading it.

Well done on keeping going Cardigans and Oubliette.
Roonetta, something that helps me is from ultramarathoner Rich Roll, "mood follows action" so just keep going, even if you're not feeling up for it, as you will feel better after.

OublietteBravo · 27/11/2020 18:40

Ri30 L4D2 and 6W6P L2. I think I’m going to take tomorrow as a rest day.

ilovecardigans · 27/11/2020 19:14

Rest day for me today. I did do a 6 mile walk and a Bodybalance class, so I can justify a couple of glasses of wine with tonight's comfort TV. 🍷🍷

Sorry to hear you're also going into Tier 3, roonetta. Now you've mentioned the 'C' word though (you did mean Celebrations, didn't you? Wink) I really want some!

Good luck with tonight's 10K run, Tiny. You'll smash it girl! Hope things are a lot better in Ireland from next week.

I think there's quite a bit of Chaturanga in Bodybalance, Oubliette. They call it 'crocodile' and there's a repeated sequence where you go from downward dog to plank to crocodile then up dog/cobra. After 4 of those in a row your triceps & shoulders are screaming.

Have a lovely weekend everyone - keep fighting the good fight! 😘

AlgonquinBay · 27/11/2020 22:25

Day 23 (I think) and 6W6P L2 done here today ✔️

Feeling like it's really made a difference, sticking to these workouts, I feel a lot trimmer and more toned. Hope I can stick with it past lockdown. Although saying that I'm also going into Tier 3 from Tier 1 so I guess I won't have anything better to do come Thursday Grin It is definitely starting to wear thin though.

Hope your DS is okay roonetta, kids can say awful things to each other, it's hard to keep on bouncing back. I do think that lockdown and restrictions aren't helping and tensions are running higher than usual as the kids struggle to burn off their energy and take it out on each other.

5km run planned for tomorrow followed by Jillian and then we'll go to pick up a Christmas tree yay!

Keep on everyone StarStar

roonetta · 28/11/2020 12:55

Thanks Tiny, I’ll remember those words - you are right, I always feel better after I’ve exercised especially when I don’t want to do it. Hope your 10k went well.

What other C word is there cardigans? 😜 Bodybalance sounds brutal!

How did you find 6W6P level 2 Algonquin? Glad you are seeing a difference. I find Jillian is the only workout that actually gives me visible results. You are right about kids being vile. I am hoping my son can rise above it. He is doing well at the moment but it’s taking its toll. Only 3 more weeks until half term, thank God. Enjoy picking your tree 😀

30DS L1 (D24) done ✅

AlgonquinBay · 28/11/2020 17:43

RI30 L1 & 3 mile run done today!

Picked up a Christmas tree too, so a good day Smile

roonetta - level 2 6W6P was okay really, except for the fact that it's a few minutes longer than 30DS and RI30. At least I was prepared this time to do the whole circuit again!!

Not sure which Jillian to do tomorrow....

ilovecardigans · 28/11/2020 19:48

I find Jillian is the only workout that actually gives me visible results.

I agree, roonetta. I don't know what it is she does that's so different from others, but boy those workouts do exactly what it says on the tin. I lose actual inches! I like her patter too - she's total cheeze, but she owns it.

Not sure which Jillian to do tomorrow....

Have you done No More Trouble Zones (NMTZ) yet, Algonquin? Enjoy your tree. I can't wait to get mine up. 🎄

30DS L2 Day 23 done 👍
4 mile very brisk walk ('cos it was freezing!)

Feet up with wine & Strictly now. Ahhhhh. 😊
