@ocelot41 well done! We were all on day 1 one day. You got to start somewhere. A lot of people don't even get to day one!

Here is to another 30! Smile

@ocelot41 Well done! We were all on day 1 at some point. You got to start somewhere. A lot of people don't even get to day one!

Here is to another 30! Smile It'll be amazing when you get there.

clearsommespace · 25/07/2018 06:43

I think Ocelot only has 29 to go Grin
I was going to run this morning before work but have been up several times in the night with vomiting DC.Sad
It'll be too hot to exercise after work. On the bright side the bedding will dry quickly!

Well done ocelot! Hope that you’re not too achey today. I promise that it does get easier.

Went for a run yesterday and tripped over a loose drain cover and cut all my knee ☹️ Now have a massive plaster on my knee so not sure how today’ll go.

babyinthacorner · 25/07/2018 09:58

L3D2 done! I wasn't aching from yesterday - thought I would be?
Got the familiar knee twinge a few exercises in though - I have to concentrate so hard on my form on this level. Great for de-stressing I find - I literally can't think about anything else Grin
Another cheer for Ocelot! Keep going, you'll feel the difference really soon!

HappyEverIftar · 25/07/2018 10:17

L2 D5 done - I'm halfway through!

I wouldn't say my 3kgs are feeling easier but I'm getting more used to them.

Have to use a can of beans in each hand for the chair squat and v raise though, blimey that's a toughie!

Good job everyone!

HappyEverIftar · 25/07/2018 10:18

Sorry to hear that clearsomme nothing serious I hope? And also knackerelli maybe sit today out if your knee is still sore?

CaliforniaLoove · 25/07/2018 11:47

I think I'm on about day 10? But have had some gaps. There was a bit where it felt easier - that was not today.

As a slight aside, I can do NO press ups, even on knees, and don't feel like I'm improving from the halfway down three on knees I can manage.

Any advice anyone?

ocelot41 · 25/07/2018 17:32

Hello knackerelli, yes pretty stiff! Do I take a day out or push on through? Owwww...when does it get easier? How is your knee feeling now?

Waitingonasmiley42 · 25/07/2018 18:10

Well done everyone!!!

I need to do level 1 day 8 today but I’ve just done a 4 mile run so think I might struggle. Pray for me Sad

norbert23 · 25/07/2018 18:17

I'm on day 6 and far less achey than day 2! Break up tomorrow from school so looking forward to doing it in the slightly cooler mornings Smile not sure if I'll be able to resist all the chocolate and biscuits that'll be around school tomorrow but I'm going to imagine Julian's hardcore glare so that I'm not quite so tempted!

clearsommespace · 25/07/2018 18:30

ocelot if it's just muscle soreness, push through and stretch for longer than in the workout.
waiting Thanks. He is able to keep fluids down since this afternoon so it's just a matter of time and rest. Phew. I was concerned about dehydration in this heat.

ocelot41 · 25/07/2018 18:48

Managed Day 2 - thanks for the encouragement everyone. Glad to know it's less sore after Day 6!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 25/07/2018 20:38

Evening all!

Well done Ocelot!

So after the most drawn-out bedtime DS1 has ever had, I got downstairs to do my shred and could not get the bloody playstation to work!!! Bane of my life!! Ugh! Despite my fury I didn't say 'sod it' as I usually would - instead I found a youtube video of a woman doing the workout herself, so I did that on my laptop. It was actually quite good seeing someone else do it - I always just follow Natalie's pace, but this woman was doing the cardio really fast, really deep squats etc! So I found that pushed me more.

I use 3kg weights which are fine until the anterior raises, my god! Also I am still as terrible at press ups as I ever was, I always imagine I'd be better if I weighed less? Pah.

So taking Saturday as my Day 1 my week has been:
Sat: 30DS L1
Sun: nothing
Mon: spinning class
Tues: 30 lengths breast stroke
Weds: 30DS L1
Tomorrow: theoretically a 5k (will include some walking) - treadmill in air conditioned gym I might add!
Friday: 30DS

Oh also it always makes me Hmm/Sad when she says 'if you're looking for a modified version of the jumping jack, I'm not going to give it to you. I have 400lb people who can do a jumping jack, SO CAN YOU!'... Well Jillian actually I can't without weeing myself (that DS1 again!) so thanks!! Grin

OK I think that's all my thoughts out of my head Grin

Hydrate in the heat everyone!

clearsommespace · 26/07/2018 06:31

Well done for persevering Bendy despite all the obstacles.
I just did Killer Buns and Thighs level 1. My legs feel very wobbly right now even though I am sitting!

I have to go into town this evening and it's a tough hill to cycle up on the way back. Still I'll be on my own so no-one to see if I get off and push!

OP posts:
clearsommespace · 26/07/2018 06:38

For those of you struggling with push ups, have you tried on your knees with a right angle at the knee (hip above the knee)? IIRC Anita does them with a 45 degree angle so she is a plank from the knees upwards.

affectionincoldclimate · 26/07/2018 23:30

L1 done today. The heat was punishing but it felt weirdly good to get the heart rate up!

On another note, I got a colleague into Shred and she's starting on Sunday I love spreading the Jillian love!

@BendydickCuminsnatch I hear you. When I was completing day 30 I had 45 minutes of DD napping to do it in and couldn't get my browser to run Amazon video. I then tried the DVD and it wouldn't fire up. I was darting about the place like I was disarming a bomb in an episode of 24. Grin When I got it to work I air punched Grin That's what I call commitment!

clearsommespace · 27/07/2018 07:23

Gosh that would have been frustrating to ge defeated by technology on day 30! I can imagine the scene!
I was supposed to run this morning to stick to my 'keep up the good work until Ripped in 30 September' plan but I have to do a longish drive this evening and I sometimes get a headache after running. I did 3 circuits from 'No more trouble zones' instead. Ouch my abs!

OP posts:
affectionincoldclimate · 27/07/2018 10:17

@clearsommespace you made me realise that I only own 30DS and RI30 and there is a world of Jillian out there. I'll order some more DVDs today. I can see myself getting a bit comfy with what I have. Time for a new challenge. Grin thank you!

clearsommespace · 27/07/2018 11:12

You'll have to let me know what's new, especially if there are any others under 30 minutes.
NMTZ is 7 circuits and takes an hour! I can't do that before work!

Just found this thread - LOVE LOVE LOVE Jillian!

I started on 30DS a few years back and it's been my go to whenever I've wanted to lose weight.

Just wondered if anyone has tried her app though?

I've got it now and it's fantastic for when you get to the end of 30DS and want to carry on. You can choose specific courses (e.g. bikini body) and modify them with whatever specific equipment you have, which level you want to do etc.

Like shred they are 20 mins HIIT with 5 min cooldown, but I'm loving the variety and the fact that it generates a unique workout each day, I was getting a bit bored with the same routine over and over again in shred.

I've had pretty amazing results in a month (with diet, yoga, and some running also added in).

Just thought it might help those of you wondering what to do next. The only downside is it's on a phone screen, but I just have it propped up next to where I workout and soon enough you start to know what each move is so can just do it from sound (there are a lot the same as shred but also lots of new moves).

Waitingonasmiley42 · 27/07/2018 20:12

level one complete Star !

Just watching level 2 in preparation for tomorrow... Shock

affectionincoldclimate · 27/07/2018 22:38

@FridayThirteenth oooh! Sounds like something up my street. Looked st workouts on amazon and almost bought the JM 10 minute ones on amazon video but they were a tenner so I got stingy.

My initial thought was I'd struggle with the phone screen (admittedly JM gives very good instructions verbally) but wondering if the app works on an iPad. Off to investigate this.

Waitingonasmiley42 · 28/07/2018 09:36

Level 2 day 1 done!!! Not looking forward to another 9 days of this...

affectionincoldclimate · 28/07/2018 09:41

@Waitingonasmiley42 I absolutely hear you! That said, I found that my body changed most after level 2. Obviously it's correlated with time already spent but I think it's designed to really challenge your body and affect most change. My abs definitely popped out somewhere towards the end of Level 2 - it's those punishing side swing planks at the end - of that I'm sure!

Onwards and upwards!

About to change and bust a quick JM seeing as DD is napping with DP Wink
