was "just" DOMS - can raise my arms today... will probably end up with 3 days off as well due to work today/Wednesday and planning a big walk tomorrow so hopefully once i'm back it will be fine. and i just ignore any complaints about noise/house shaking Wink

clearsommespace · 19/06/2019 17:11

I usually ignore the complaints but I thought I would make an exception for father's day lie in.

Yoga Meltdown L2 this morning. It's so humid, I did feel like I was melting!

Sturmundcalm · 19/06/2019 18:04

you're too kind Wink

did 14 mile hike yesterday, no DVD this morning as was leaving the house at 6.40 but aiming to do the next 4 days and might fit in a wee walk tonight if it stays dry.

clearsommespace · 24/06/2019 16:36

How's it going?
@Zaor How are you finding L3?
I did Shred L2 onThursday and then we had guests so nothing until today. Did Shred L1 this morning
I should be able to keep up the usual pace now until I go on holiday in 4 weeks time.

@clearsommespace L3 is not too bad thanks, although I had a bad few days and haven't done anything much except eat since last Thursday myself. Back to it tomorrow. I can't do the one where you are on all 4s with your hands on the weights - my wrists just won't take it so I'm leaving my hands on floor. I'm very slow at this level - only getting a few reps done each time but I'll get faster I'm sure. I've holidays in 4 weeks so it will motivate me - I'm definitely getting a bit further down in my press ups :-)

OhioOhioOhio · 24/06/2019 20:20

Oh. I think I'm going to have to join this thread... eventually...

clearsommespace · 25/06/2019 15:37

Good news on the push ups Zaor.

@OhioOhioOhio whenever you are ready....

L1 Ripped this morning

Hello! I've just completed day one of 30 day shred and OH MY GOD. I mistakenly did it in front of the lounge mirror and was fascinated and horrified to see how long my tummy and hips continued to wobble even after I'd stopped doing those bloody star jumps. Waiting for the ache to kick in now...

OhioOhioOhio · 25/06/2019 23:19

I'm really unfit. Is this the right way for me to start? Also, do I need a big space?

clearsommespace · 26/06/2019 10:19

You need enough space to be able to lie down with your arms out at 90 degrees and you need to have enough height to do jumping jacks.

There is a Beginner's Shred which may be more appropriate.

I've disappeared for a couple of weeks as got nothing done the last week of work as it was such a nightmare, and have done walking since last Saturday (lots and lots of walking!).

did the first 6 circuits of NMTZ this morning and am so not fit for it... am currently having a wee seat because I got that low blood pressure feeling (nausea and dizziness) 3 minutes into my cool down! think it is just an indication of how much I need to work on my upper body strength Wine

will need to keep going though because am trying to build up to doing a really big walk (24 miles with a hill at the start AND the end) and I can feel the difference the 6W6P made to my core which has helped massively with the walking, particularly downhill. hope you are all having a good summer!

clearsommespace · 07/07/2019 18:10

That's some hike! Good that JM is helping.
We have been out of routine with end of school, exams etc. So I've found it difficult to be consistent.
I have managed minimum 3 workouts a week.
This week DH is taking the kids on holiday so I should have time to workout daily. But then we'll all be on holiday.

I think I'll keep mixing up workouts until we're back into a routine in September. Then I'll set myself a proper challenge.

Just done week 1 two days in a row! It was so hard but I did it :) burnt 400 calories today doing it!

clearsommespace · 09/07/2019 15:58

Yay!
Yep it's tough but worth it!
Did L3 today.

This thread is a year old today Grin
Managed to work out yesterday and today.

OP posts:
Sturmundcalm · 11/07/2019 19:42

well done! over a year of JM - dedication Grin

i'm all over the place - did NMTZ Sat/Sun, a walk on Tues (got soaked...) and yoga today, planning my big walk tomorrow but hoping to do either NMTZ or the Shred on Sun/Mon.

clearsommespace · 12/07/2019 07:14

All the best for your long walk.
Hope the rain clouds hold off!

Sturmundcalm · 08/08/2019 21:54

I'm back if anyone else is still about!

Never managed to do my big walk cause I got a bit lost... Wine. Did do 22 miles that day though and have done quite a few 12 mile + walks this summer as well as NMTZ on a semi-regular basis.

Did the Shred level 1 today and clearly NMTZ has made a difference cause I did the whole thing with 3kg weights and (other than push ups from my knees) got through the whole thing no bother while doing the advanced version Shock

Honestly so astonished I'm not sure what to do at this point - whether to just move up to level 2 faster or buy some heavier weights or get a different DVD (Joe Wickes maybe?)...

Have a party at end September and would like to lose 7lbs for it and keep toning up so need to be doing something regularly and work is ramping right back up so the big walks aren't really an option cause I just don't have time.

clearsommespace · 10/08/2019 19:22

Hello. I got back from holiday today. Also got lost hiking. Grin
Planning to start working out again tomorrow. Something gentle to start with.

OP posts:
Sturmundcalm · 12/08/2019 20:02

i've stuck with 30DS for now - using 4kg weights, even on the front lateral raises at the end of level 1! can feel my arms as a result and def working up a sweat. think i may need to move up to level 2 sooner but may keep at it to see if i can crack the push up...

clearsommespace · 12/08/2019 20:38

Wow! Shock Impressive!
4kg on those front raises!!

It's funny, I can't manage more than a couple of those with 3kg but I can do proper push ups.

Yoga Meltdown L1 yesterday (actually quite tough on the triceps as I discovered this morning) and Ripped L1 today. I'm going to do a mini-Ripped, 3-4 days of each level, over the next three weeks. Then it's back to school and some establishment and school transport changes for DC so not quite sure how mornings will pan out.

ScabbyHorse · 13/08/2019 09:07

I'm doing 30 day shred again after a few years break Grin On level 2 after a few weeks at level 1. Have found it helps to listen to dance music at the same time as I know all the words of the dvd now.

Sturmundcalm · 14/08/2019 22:00

i quite fancy some music instead but i just have it on my PC so need to be able to hear JM tell me to move on as i quite often can't see the screen while doing moves... her whole "few more" rubbish in the static lunges is annoying me even though i know how many more i really need to do!

clearsommespace · 15/08/2019 08:51

Hello scabbyhorse
I'm using the TV which is a decent size but when in plank I can't see so I have the commentary too. Try to tune it all out except the genuine '3 more' countdowns.

Ripped L1 x 3 done.
Today Ripped L2 done.

OP posts:
Sturmundcalm · 16/08/2019 21:21

today was L1, day 7 - actually found it hard going as my arms are def starting to feel it. think i'm going to end up with a rest day tomorrow cause I need to leave early for work so will see how it goes on sunday. may move up after that as although i can feel my arms i am managing to do everything without breathers.

watched a bit of level 2 this morning to remind myself what i was facing - hmmm!
