I only went and filled up the last thread without realising Blush.

I hope you find me

Well, I did eccentric lower and am now we'll on the way to being able to do a pistol squat! Still really dislike that work out though

But weighed myself again this morning (stupid, I know) and have gained weight since yesterday. Aaarrrghh. Angry my logical mind tells me it's water but it's bloody annoying.

Theromanempire · 19/05/2017 09:48

I am curious about this Eccentric Lower workout now Grin I am going to go and check it out Wink I did Lower Fix this morning so my legs are hurting in solidarity with yours!

Purple you know it is just water weight - why are you weighing yourself every day? Hide the scales!! Weigh once a week to get the true picture Smile

I am a definite fruit and veg-phobe Blush I struggle to eat either which is awful. If someone put a huge salad or fruit salad in front of me, I would happily eat it and enjoy it but I just cannot be bothered with all the prep. I know I need to sort it out as it is not good for the DC either Sad

Reastie · 19/05/2017 15:50

I've never minded eccentric lower but I will never be able to do pistol squats properly and I hate the lunges on a chair.

Wow, physio did stuff on my arm and really made a difference. I hope this is it!! She asked me to get dh to do to my arm what she did but I don't think between us he will get it right. It's all to do with my rotation apparently.

Rest day today post migraine but hoping for a 6k tomorrow if I'm up to it

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 19/05/2017 15:53

lol roman I am curious too when I hear a workout is particularly awful/good.

I didn't' find eccentric lower too awful either today, {weird, hifives Purple}

Purple could muscle gain be happening? You have been working so hard it must be a possibility?

Purpleraindeer · 20/05/2017 14:23

Yes I know you're all right re weighing every day but I get impatient and want to see results asap. Mistake. Anyway - went out last night and ate chips etc due to lack of other options so am calling that 'refeeding' like the body builders do!

And - I did a proper pistol squat yesterday. Got right down to floor and back up!! Smile only managed it on my left leg. On my right I need to hold a chair for balance but I'm not far off. So all those weighted pistols in eccentric lower must be paying off. Tried to demonstrate for DH after doing decelerator today and fell over. He thought it was hilarious.

yumyumpoppycat · 20/05/2017 17:02

Wow - well done on Pistol squat Purple! Star
I was refeeding yest too Wine ahem (might have been refeeding for a few days)

Purple great news re physio.

Rest today for me!

Reastie · 20/05/2017 18:33

Gosh purple that's amazing about the pistol squats. When I do them I'm doing more of a dinky duck than actual squat. Fwiw I weigh myself regularly and over the course of a month my weight fluctuates by about three pounds depending on which part of the month it is with hormones etc. One day I could be a cOuple of pounds less than the next but that would happen every single month on that part of my cycle, it's actually quite interesting looking at the patterns Blush . So don't be too downbeat.

I too had chips for lunch. Not too naughty as low fat oven baked ones but mor than my usual sized portion so not feeling too angelic. Did a run this morning which was 6k, 2 k above my previous injury route so slowly building up, but got terrible stomach pains for the last 2k, think I didn't leave long enough after breakfast.

Meant to say, did you know bb coaches will be on offer in U.K. Soon from what I hear? I wonder if that means shakeology will be here too.

OP posts:
EleanorAbernathy · 20/05/2017 23:13

Reastie I've seen a few Facebook ads from US Beachbody coaches touting for business! I think it's a bit of an MLM type thing, I must admit I'm slightly tempted as I can endorse the product!

I've gone and injured myself again - pulled my back in my last Trinity workout last week (cautionary tale - do NOT attempt kettle bell swings with a 16kg kettle bell, seemed like a good idea at the time!)

I've actually stuck to the food this time though instead of consoling myself with cake! I cut my calories by 200 per dayas I haven't been working out, then my back felt OK yesterday so i did my first Trinity workout to give me a head start on next week!
Then today I fancies another workout so did a T25 (Speed 2.0) and put my calories back up to cover it! Grin

Theromanempire · 21/05/2017 16:04

eleanor I think you are correct- it definitely seems like a MLM-style selling technique. I like T25 Tania on FB and she is clearly one of the coaches at the top of the tree and her posts are very much of the '5 years ago I was bankrupt and now I have just moved into a mansion'/'shakeology is the best' style posts. Becomes quite boring after a while Hmm hope your back doesn't hamper you for long!

Going to do the long Core de force workout shortly - think it is about 50 minutes long Confused making DH do it too although he is the most uncoordinated person I knowe Grin

Purpleraindeer · 22/05/2017 07:50

Reastie - that is fab news re your shoulder. How is it now? Has your DH been able to recreate the physios magic?

Eleanor - I think it wouldn't just me being injured if I did swings with a 12kg kettle bell - I'd have been taking out the lights and ornaments too. Hope you're ok. I can join you on self inflicted injuries - played badminton in the garden yesterday and have a sore shoulder. Pathetic!

Had a big lunch with wine yesterday and then did agility x in the afternoon. I can confirm that booze + food + exercise = feeling very sick! I'm sure all the rest of you know that already though

Reastie · 22/05/2017 12:43

Purple alas no one can recreate the physio magic at home :( I've also got a weighted exercise to do which I'm struggling which because it's making my elbow click with every rep which is painful as it's on a table :( two steps forward.....

However this morning I did tf hiit 20 and insanity cardio abs (bar the last few plank bits) and yesterday I went for a cycle ride, tried a different route and somehow ended out cycling down the steepest hill I've ever known! It was so steep I was scared to cycle down it and kept having to stop to build up the nerve and had brakes on a lot. It was so steep it felt really dangerous Shock . Then of course when I got to the bottom of the giant steep hill I had to go up another one to get back home! It was so steep I couldn't cycle up it so pushed the bike up but even doing this I was feeling my heart pump just climbing up it as it was so steep, so it's all good cardio! Lots of cyclists giving me grins pushing my bike up whilst they glided down (not nearly as scared about it as I was!) but I was the only one going up it!

Purple hope the sicky feeling has worn off. I remember once doing a body attack class after dinner and all that bouncing and jumping made me feel sick for hours afterwards!

Thermo how did dh get on with core de force? Btw is there a standing/csit abs workout on core de force? [hopeful]

Eleanor hope the injury isn't too bad and you're feeling better now.

Had a BBQ yesterday and ate so much More than usual.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 23/05/2017 15:27

Reastie cycling up and down hills sounds amazing, really good work out but also being out in the open fresh air, I am jealous!

Purple and Eleanor I am always scared of chucking my 8kg kettlebell through the tv or something, 16kg - not sure I could even lift that. Hope your back is ok el Flowers

Roman how was the long core de force? I decided to try a short one MMx speed today - I quite like it but not quite as much as Tony's MMX surprisingly. Maybe its because I was doing it on my laptop and I lost signal etc. I am planning to do a 22 hard corps and core de force combo and buckle down with weightloss (from Thu Wink ) before doing Body Beast.

Did 2 gym workouts yest as my subscription is about to roll over and I haven't used any of my 5 classes, despite having nearly 2 months to do them. Did pilates and what sounded like a tame class - legs, bums and tums, but the instructor was a sadist!! Thought I got away with it this morning as was fine for MMX before work, but now my neck Hmm, bum, and tum are all really sore.

Reastie · 23/05/2017 15:33

Yumy well, I didn't really technically cycle up the hill, I walked pushing the bike up Blush

Very disappointed, just went to do barre legs on 21 df on secret site. Did the warm up and then the screen went black with only audio. I tried refreshing several times but kept losing the picture at the same point of the video (end of warm up about 4 mins in). Could someone else check and see if it's a fault with the site or just me? I did lower fix for the first time instead. I didn't use weights because of injuries but still felt very hard at times! Can't put my all in for fear or undoing recovery work but better than nothing.

Yumy sounds like you are right on it at the mo, well done. I find leg bum and tum classes (it's been years since I did them though) very difficult. Well done for doing it. I really think with classes like that you build up fitness to the specific moves they do and so initially it's killer but if you went every week I bet in a couple of months you'd do it no problem. That's why I like bb as you can vary so much and can keep developing fitness rather than doing the same classes every week and not progressing which is what I feel like I'm doing now

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 24/05/2017 06:16

Poppy - you've been doing a lot of workouts. Wow. Legs bums and Tums takes me back - makes me think of 80s leg warmers Smile. Enjoy your 22hc - I love those ones.

Roman - How was corps de force?

Reastie I'm the same on a bike. I like the idea of it but I get too scared on the downs. I have a racing bike and it goes so fast it terrifies me. I like the idea of cycling though

Did the challenge last night. Always find that one mentally tough to get started. My DH was grudgingly impressed with the number of press ups I did. He won't challenge me to a competition now! Grin

Theromanempire · 24/05/2017 16:44

Reastie I have not had any problems with the secret site and I did Barre Legs a couple of weeks ago and it was fine - if I remember, I'll check when I get home tonight. What a shame as I think it would really suit your circumstances at the moment. I guess riding down steep hills is a bit of a leap of faith and I am so not brave enough to do it (I don't ride a bike though so not going to happen Grin)

Purple what is the challenge? I think there is one in 21dfx but I am assuming it is not that one...

In the end, me and DH did the 40 minute corp de force workout as we ran out of time (so it is 9 3 x minute rounds rather than 12). I loved it but I am a committed Combat devotee (or used to be when I had a gym membership Sad) so I find the moves easy. I think it will take time for DH to 'get' it but he is at least prepared to try and says he enjoys it Hmm It is such a good cardio workout though so I think you should all try them Smile

Did 2 lots of exercise yesterday Shock I got up at 5 to do 21 df Abs fix and then unexpectedly ended up at a Clubbercise class last night which I really enjoyed - fab dance music and glowsticks combined with exercise, what's not to love Wink It wasn't full-on hard HIIT exercise by any stretch of the imagination (it was like Zumba on acid) but it was fun and a change and sometimes, I think that is what I need Smile

9 weeks till my hols...I am really sticking to my MFP calorie allowance so I am hoping I see the rewards soon. Is one dress size doable in 9 weeks (bearing in mind I need to lose about a stone to shift a dress size Blush)?

Happy workouts everyone - either Core Speed or Rip't Circuit tonight for me depending on what DH wants to do (I like to give him the choice occasionally Grin

Purpleraindeer · 25/05/2017 06:17

Well done on the double Roman! Sounds like a fun one too. A stone in 9wks is definitely doable. You might drop a dress size in less than a stone too.

The challenge is a p90x3 workout where you do alternate sets of pull ups and push ups. I find it hard mentally and physically - especially when you've done 6x sets and you have 2x sets to go!

Poppy - I just twigged - did you decide to stop p90x3?

Triometrics for me last night. Was v hot but nice to get a work out as I had a v sedentary work day

Boobz · 26/05/2017 10:20

Hello there.... long time...

Sorry for going completely silent! Life just got ridiculously manic with work, children and well, just life really... very different from the pace in Rome where I could exercise and post online all I wanted!

So I see we still have a few old regulars on here - hi Purple! Still working it hard? What have you been up to? What are you doing now - P90X3 I see from checking in to MFP for the first time in about a year yesterday!

A little catch up from me... we got back from Rome in August last year and I worked out like a demon from Aug - Oct... was the fittest I had been since doing P90X religiously in Kenya in 2013... was all going so well...

and then we moved house, our nanny left and I got promoted. And we ran out of cash. So my Barry's obsession had to stop and I basically did nothing until now. Except a White Collar Boxing training camp and match (I won - it was hell on earth - I don't recommend it)...

...and then I tried on my summer dresses at the beginning of the week as the sun is out (woo!) and NOTHING fits. We don't own a full length mirror (just haven't got round to buying one since moving in) and I think that hasn't helped me notice get bigger and bigger. And I'm unfit! Argh - I had A MOMENT and now here I am, back on MFP, Barry's Bootcamp (I got a bonus so can pay for a load of classes to kick start me) and the Zone diet. I am currently weighing in at 58kg and I want to get down to 52 by 22 July.

Sorry - that's all me me me - how is everyone? Eleanor, Poppy, Purple? Any other regulars around?

Will try to check in a bit more regularly but work is still manic. I have booked the next 7 days worth of Barry's in though so will finally have something to report! And I hope to get some Insanitys in as well.

Here is a pic of me just after winning my fight!

yumyumpoppycat · 26/05/2017 20:51

Wow Boobz what an amazing picture. Great to hear from you - love that even when you go off it for a while you still manage to win boxing training camp!

Did you hear about Shaun T in London in July - disappointed is going.

PS I looked up the new shaun t workout and it's going to be on demand only. It sounds like it might be Insanity and T25 mashup rather than all new workouts?

Went to a yoga class today - I was rubbish - except for chair pose which features a fair bit in p90x3 and I was poss the best at that Grin

Clubbercize sounds fun Roman - how is the weightloss challenge going?

Reastie I feel like I am not progressing but we are I am sure, and even just keeping going is doing us good.

Well done on working out in the heat Purple - I am taking a break from p90x3 but it is one I like a lot and will prob come back to before long.

Reastie · 27/05/2017 07:00

Boo a great to hear from you, I was wondering about you. I love how you say you've done nothing..except a boxing boot camp, that photo looks super hard core and love your arm muscles. Enjoy Barry's and keep us posted with any celeb spots! Still here but very injured so have very limited workout options.

Run planned this morning, hoping it's not too hot and going to try to turn my weird running head scarf thing that seems to fold a million and one different ways into a sun hat. If I can. I need to find a video on you tube.

Clubbersize sounds great fun, I'd definitely like that.

Yumy I've found the same with chair pose in yoga classes, when I've done p90x3 and built up my muscles I go a lot lower than even the teacher [proud]

Thermo that's a pound of two a week which is totally doable.

Oh forgot to mention, did I say I've signed up my daughter and I for a junior mud run together next week end? I'm a bit worried as I have a thing about mud in my face. It can go anywhere else it likes but I don't want mud in my mouth as I have germ issues.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 28/05/2017 18:20

Hello all!
Welcome back Boobz. Do keep posting. The white collar boxing made me smile - you love a hardcore challenge don't you?! I immediately googled it as it sounded great, but as I'm not in London anymore it's just not practical. How is the Barry's going? Are you getting back into it?

I hope you and your dd enjoy the mud run reastie. I've done something similar and didn't end up eating the mud so I'm sure you'll be fine - and what a great thing to do together. I'm bursting with maternal pride today - ds entered a scooter race. Most of the other entrants were 7yrs + so he looked very little (he is 2.5). He was so proud of himself when he crossed the line.

I've had the worst diet for the last 2 days - it's been BBQ and country fairs so I've mostly eaten chips, burgers in buns and ice cream. I've always found there's no point in trying to watch what you eat at those things, it's impossible! Managed decelerator today though. It's my last week of p90x3 - has come around fast.

yumyumpoppycat · 29/05/2017 21:33

Exciting about junior mud run Reastie, bet the fun of the day will get you past any worries! Hifives for chair pose successes.

Purple, I love it that Junior purple is entering competitions at 2.5 yo! mini Star in the making Grin

So my 22 hard corps plans have been scuppered slightly because I can't find the dvds anywhere Confused, decided to do another core de force instead - shred this time. I did get a bit more sweaty than with the speed one but it was basically very similar. I also did bodycombat at the gym at the weekend which was so much fun - really enjoyed it. I did have 3 meals out yesterday to balance this out Blush

Reastie · 30/05/2017 08:11

Yumy gym class sounds really fun

Purple go mini purple. Did he get a medal for entering the race like these things sometimes offer? I think that's the only reason dd wants to do the mud run! I hope they give them to the accompanying adults too as I want one!

Well, bad news. Yesterday my lower back really hurt. In a bad way. I have a previous injury where I had a slipped disc but that was about 9 years ago so totally better now, but after months and months of agony and a year before it got back to normal I'm nervous with back stuff. Today it still hurts but fingers crossed a little better. I have no idea what caused it as can't think of anything different I did. Did my usual physio barbell weights on Sunday so hoping maybe I just was a bit off with something when I did that and it'll go. Meantime no exercise until it gets better for fear of another injury, which is rubbish, I am not a happy lady.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 30/05/2017 09:13

Sorry to hear re the back reastie. Let's hope it's just aches and pains post workout rather than anything worse.

Poppy isn't 22hc on the secret site - that's how I've done it before.

Stepped on scales this am and was 1kg up on last week!! I guess this weekends eating did a bit of damage... although I'm hoping it's water weight Hmm
