Woo hoo Eleanor - that has gone quick. So contrast week - does that mean no weights at all or just whatever exercise you want to do? Shake looks good. I still have some unfinished shakes but will prob get something for body beast. How does it taste is it artificial tasting?

CVX yest and Yoga today -both at 7.30 am which was a disaster - kept having to stop as kids were messing around, singing yelling etc (while eating breakfast) - ds was faffing getting ready for secondary and has lost his second pe t shirt! Feel bad as I was doing quiet angry voice at them and think I will have to abandon perfect workout time. So I could do it at 8.00pm ish but I don't eat before bed - have main meal all done by 7.00 at very latest so that would screw that up. Could do it some (but not all days) when we are back at 4.30 but would still have the issue of what the children do. This only leaves getting up super early Sad why can't they just be sensible!!!

yumyumpoppycat · 03/05/2017 12:49

Sorry exercise was at 7.00 - 7.30. I do lunches, get breakfasts ready and chat with dp before he leaves for work at 6.45 so would need to set alarm for about 5.45 to be done early enough. Hmm thinking out loud the answer is I insist they have to get ready before having breakfast then if I was organised and up slightly earlier I could exercise 6.45 -7.15 ish!

Reastie · 03/05/2017 20:50

Yumy I'm known for getting super stroppy if people interupt my workouts Blush . Dh will ask me random questions sometimes like he expects me to be able to stop and think and answer him Shock . 5:45 is early!!

Eleanor the shake looks really nice but alas has sweetener so not suitable for me as I'm still added sugar/sweetener free. I can't believe I've kept it up for over a year and a half now!

Plodding along still. Did two standing abs workouts yesterday (although each were only just over ten minutes) and hoping for a run tomorrow. Seeing physio again next week and hopefully she'll be showing me how I can start to introduce pump etc back.

Purple it's funny how we Would be so excited to see Shaun t live yet non fitness DVD people don't get it! If you all had the opportunity to do a live workout or meet with any bb person who would you choose? I've been thinking and I'm going to go with Shaun t as he is the best imo. Although some of the pump people I think would be good fun in a class.

I looked up the Shaun T thing last night to see if I could afford it and DH didn't get it - he thinks it must be for people with more money than sense and why not just do a DVD! Grin I'm at work so can't go.

I did the second Insanity workout yesterday and just when I thought I'd got away with it a serious case of Insanity Calves has kicked in today so it's a rest day! I'm going to be brave and try the hour long one from month 2 tomorrow - calves allowing!

Yum the shakes do taste a bit artificial but I think they all do. These ones are lovely and thick though, and with almond milk and frozen spinach (ice cubes would do too ) they're just like slightly melted ice-cream!

Reastie my DH once tried to ask my a question that involved me working out money when I was doing a Jillian Michaels one with weights, then didn't understand why I couldn't answer Grin

Purpleraindeer · 05/05/2017 06:30

Hello all!
How are the calves Eleanor? Hope your physio appt goes well reastie - fingers crossed you're on the road back to Shaun t Smile

All the comments about getting interrupted when working out made me laugh. Happens to me too. I work out in eve once kids are in bed and sometimes I get random requests for water etc wailed from their bedrooms. I admit sometimes I'm quite glad that I can pause the work out and catch my breath whilst i sort it out! At the weekend I often work out whilst they're watching tv and DH is reading so I have an audience. I've been asked and successfully managed to put Frozen on iPad whilst doing press ups.

Have also done cvx and yoga over last few days. Yoga felt amazing and my back is starting to feel a bit better Smile. Cvx was killer as always. Yoga again today then am into the final month of p90x3 on sat. Has gone fast.

I knuckled down and have gone back on mfp as I had a bit of a horrifying weigh in on Tuesday. Hasn't been as bad as I thought. Am trying for c1400 Cals and 100+ g of protein.

yumyumpoppycat · 05/05/2017 08:09

Purple of all your accomplishments to date putting on frozen while doing pushups is the one that has made me most impressed Grin Star

Eleanor that shake does sound nice. Reastie I got this at Costco - no noticeable sweetner www.amazon.co.uk/BetterBody-LIVfit-Organic-Superfood-Blend/dp/B01LY8BTZI/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493967893&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=organic+liv+fit&tag=mumsnetforum-21 it was cheaper at Costco and I usually get protein type bars there too (trek etc) this week I have been using half that and half a sweetened one to try and use them up.

I did lower today, it went ok but not great. I am fine with side lunges and pretty ok with squats but my left knee is crunching when I lunge forwards and I cant bear it - the sound freaks me out so will think about a GP apt to get it checked.

Have a lovely sunny Friday everyone. PS waves to roman if you are around pop on for a chat!

EleanorAbernathy · 05/05/2017 12:44

Balls - I've had to cancel doing Insanity for the rest of contrast week and it's all Shaun T's fault!
I was foam rolling my calves yesterday and as I was going to put the heating off before bed I forgot about the foam roller and went flying over it and whacked my head on the stone fireplace. Now I have a cut on my ear (not sure how!), a massive bruise on my finger from a futile attempt to save myself, and a mild concussion.......

yumyumpoppycat · 05/05/2017 15:05

Eleanor that sounds awful you poor thing ... I would hold shaunt and his calf torture responsible too Flowers

Purpleraindeer · 05/05/2017 18:30

That sounds like a very dramatic Shaun t injury. I bet that one is not covered by the disclaimers at the beginning of the DVD! Hope you're ok Flowers

EleanorAbernathy · 05/05/2017 20:07

Pizza tonight - medicinal of course. Shaun T should pay for it! Grin

And we're going on a walk tomorrow which will count as a workout so I've only missed one!

yumyumpoppycat · 05/05/2017 21:25

Enjoy Eleanor!! Just as well you can't make the event in July!

Purpleraindeer · 06/05/2017 15:42

Hope the head is better now Eleanor.
Struggled through decelerator today. Was a combo of normal manageable things and moves so hard I couldn't even attempt them! There was a crow push up (I think that was what it was called) where you put your knee on your arm at the bottom of the push up and then take your feet off the floor and balance on your hands! ShockShock I couldn't even get my knee too my arm! Madness

Am feeling pleasantly thrashed now which is good.

Reastie · 06/05/2017 21:07

So annoyed. I logged on yesterday to apply in the ballot for London marathon only to find I had missed the deadline by 20 mins, grr.

Purple I remember that move, completely impossible!

Goodness me Eleanor, that sounds dramatic, hope you enjoyed the walk and the head is getting better. I remember once giving myself concussion from accidentally knocking a heavy lamp on my head and it nearly knocked me out Shock. I went to a tap dancing class straight afterwards (not a good move) and felt really weird.

Quick run today, my second fastest time for that length ever, even pre injury, but I really need to work on longer runs now.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 06/05/2017 23:03

Oh no Reastie 20 minutes! Are there any other events this year you might sign up to instead? Part of me would like to do the local half marathon but another part thinks I just couldn't do all the hard work.

Purple that crow thing is impossible for me but apparently its partly just knowing the technique and gripping your knees against your elbows in the right way.

warrior today, my youngest dd was joining in on her giraffe print blanket in a corner out of my way, it was quite funny watching her modify. For scissor kicks she lay down with knees up feet on the ground and alternated elegantly raising one foot at a time, which I think is a far better way to tackle it than my grunting and flailing around.

Reastie · 07/05/2017 16:50

I know! TBH I don't actually want to do the London marathon, but it's always been on my bucket list since a child and given I'm the fittest I've ever been and if I don't try soon I'll be too old I figure I would apply for a few years and at least I can say I tried!

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 07/05/2017 19:59

That's very annoying reastie. You could apply for a charity place? That's what I did. The charity asked for £1500 sponsorship but I managed to raise £2300 as everyone I asked was so gobsmacked that I would do such a thing. It is a brilliant experience - id definitely recommend.

Your dd has the right idea for switch kicks poppy. I always enjoy watching my 2 do press ups. It mostly involves them bending over and putting their heads on the floor.

Agility x today. Was absolutely shattered when I started it. Have had a busy few days and was sore from decelerator but enjoyed it once I was going. Have managed 5 days of mfp so am pleased with that. Feel like a right misery at home though as we've had puddings 2 nights running and I haven't eaten it. I know I'm connected to some of you on mfp (or people who used to be on this thread anyway) but you've got different usernames and I can't now remember who is who

Have a good eve all

yumyumpoppycat · 07/05/2017 22:54

Wow what an achievement to run a marathon and raise so much Purple. That is amazing.

Well I had a high cal yest (am MFping) and was a 1lb up today so paying for it Purple, so well done for staying strong, I also skipped my worout today which is naughty. Bit better cal wise today as we had Chinese day for dinner and I skipped noodles, cute fruit puddings, fortune cookies and made a healthy chowmein. I did stress eat a flapjack earlier though as having one of those days. Our kitchen oven glass top exploded because I put it down with a hob on low (can still use the hobs but this means I cant cover up my lack of cleaning by putting the cover down). I was in the kitchen but luckily to the side of the explosion but glass went everywhere just as I was about to leave the house.

Anyway fresh week ahead and feeling a lot less stressed than I did earlier so not all bad!

Purpleraindeer · 08/05/2017 18:17

I think I'd have eaten a flap jack if my job had exploded on me poppy. Sounds scary actually Cake There is also something v depressing about household breakages - it's just more hassle that you don't need

Good that you're feeling better and you're right - it's a new week so blank slate again Smile

Rest day for me Smile

Purpleraindeer · 08/05/2017 18:18

Hob not job! Doh.

yumyumpoppycat · 09/05/2017 14:39

Thanks purple! I actually ended up skipping a workout yesterday but have made up for it today with a morning and afternoon workout decelerator (I think) and upper body p90x3, find that second one so hard. I skipped the burnout and plyo pushups and modified but still out of puff!

Hope everyone is well.

yumyumpoppycat · 09/05/2017 14:40

Ps I def find appliances breakingdown esp when it means calling in someone to fix things, luckily it all still works.

yumyumpoppycat · 09/05/2017 14:41

sorry missed out 'depressing' from my sentence

Theromanempire · 09/05/2017 14:55

Hi Blush can I come back in??

Sorry I have been AWOL - life has got in the way of MNetting (how very rude Grin)

I haven't had a chance to read through the thread but I hope you are all ok? Still going? did skim read about the Shaun T workout - that would be fab but I would be so embarrassed having to modify loads!

I read on FB that there is some news coming out on Friday about Shaun T's next new workouts...quite excited about that. The other new ones coming are some crappy dance thing from creepy Leandro and something called Shiftshop from a new trainer which I have no idea what it involves (the blurb on the website is suitably vague and just talks about 'shifting' Hmm!

I am still exercising but my diet is still letting me down Blush 11 weeks till my holiday so I have told DH that we need to sort ourselves out now as time is ticking...

I experimented with some Piyo a couple of weeks ago but hated it - I always forget how much I hate it until I start doing it again Confused

Reastie · 09/05/2017 16:44

Purple I did actually get as far as to try to apply for a charity place but the attachment they sent me to fill in details was a word document and my iPad won't let me add anything onto it so I admitted defeat Blush.

A day in London today for an appointment so didn't get a workout in but may do a quick five mins of c sit position abs later tonight just to feel like I've done something. Swim is planned for tomorrow.

Good grief yumy!

Thermoman welcome back! Was wondering where you had got to. Very intrigued by the new Shaun t workout. Re Piyo I hated it the first time I did it but the more I did it the more I felt it working iykwim. At least they're quite short too! 11 weeks is plenty of time if you knuckle down. Stick a picture of your holiday destination on your snack cuoboard door!

Oh, can anyone help me, I'm trying to remember the name of a workout. It's in the p90 series, possibly p90x2. Its like a stretch type of workout where you have a band and you have to pull it and then let it go and it makes you have more stretching I think you had to do it three times for each (I'm probably explaining that really badly). I remember it being a good stretch one but I don't remember which one it was. I was thinking assuming I'm trying to get beyond injury this would be a good one for me to do on a regular slot to try to prevent further injury and give myself a really good stretch.

Purpleraindeer · 09/05/2017 20:50

A double poppy?! Well done you! That upper body workout is hard as is decelerator so you picked 2 toughies

Welcome back roman. How nice to hear from you. Yes, I'm still going. Good to have a deadline for any diet changes - I'm doing the same and have mentally committed to being strict with eating for my final 4wks of p90x3. We can tough it out together!

Can't help you with that workout reastie sorry - I've not done p90x or x2. Am excited about new work out though. Let's hope it's more max30 than cize

2 big wins for me today. The first is that I just realised that my back is better. It has been easing for the last few days and today I had no pain at all. Smile and did the challenge today and did 12 pull ups/14 press ups for each round. I'm very pleased with that! God knows what my arms will feel like tomorrow....
