Medicine ball? I’ve got an image in my mind of Tony shouting at you and your DH throwing a medicine ball to each other roman! Don’t write Tony off completely - he is super cheesy but very effective for strength stuff. I love ript up. It’s a great workout. You should try tabata Power from max30. I think you’d like it.

In shocking news, I went for a run today! Dh’s Face was like this when I said I was going Shock it was such a lovely sunny (but freezing cold) day and I fancied some fresh air. I’m terrible at running these days - I just go off much too fast and then get a stitch - I guess if you don’t run regularly pacing is hard. I’ve now got a weird sore bum cheek but just on one side and am walking like a broken doll. Never mind. It was fab to get out there - I love running in winter. Might even do it again next weekend.... back to a dvd tomorrow though

Reastie · 25/11/2017 15:06

Purple I'm imagining you walking in a circle due to the bum cheek issue! How far did you run? I hate the first 5 minutes of running even now a couple of years into running (although I only do it once or twice a week) but I read a blog recently saying most runners do, it takes a while to get into the pace. I have to purposefully be slower than I might choose to at the start or I get stitch. It's nice to have a fellow runner on the thread! It was bitter cold this morning here too and icy on some of the pavements on my run.

Thermo agree about tony. He really annoyed me in p90x first time but I kind of got used to him and I like it now and have done quite a few of his. He does take a bit of getting used to though.

purple well done on your run Smile is the one sore cheek due to an uneven gait do you think? And yes yes yes to every runner hating those first few minutes - it's bloody awful! Even when I was running 3 x a week and up to 10 miles, I hated the beginning of the run EVERY SINGLE TIME!

I'll check out Tabata Power and see what I think. Ript Circuit is one of my all time classic faves - good all round workout that isn't too hard Grin

Theromanempire · 26/11/2017 10:50

Did ALO total body core this morning so 7/30 with 28 days left! Have to say this challenge is motivating me which is obviously a good thing Grin

Purpleraindeer · 26/11/2017 19:02

Wow roman. Well done you! Am glad it’s working for you. That would work for me too. I hate to not meet a goal if I’ve decided to do it.

Was going to do Ript Circuit today but the secret site is all in Russian and forgot my Cyrillic script so ended up with dynamic core. I don’t like that one much so I’m afraid to say I didn’t work quite as hard as I should have. I’ve been amazed at how sore my tummy muscles have been after 1 45min run!

Theromanempire · 26/11/2017 21:12

purple I have learnt to recognise the T25 ones from the still photo on the website now as I can't read Russian Grin getting quite good now at matching the moves with the workout now!

Were the Bicycle V-ups any easier? Bloody hate that move Confused

Theromanempire · 27/11/2017 20:04

Hope everyone's Monday has been good Smile

Did CDF 12 round workout today - it was long! Makes you realise how you get used to 30 minute workouts - always good to mix it up Grin

So 8/30 done with 27 days to go...

yumyumpoppycat · 27/11/2017 21:57

Wow well done on your workouts and double roman Star Grin

Shame about BA Reastie but at least you will be saving some money and you can just pick a workout and do it with dvd rather than being disappointed. Are there any other options gymwise though? What is Bodystep!?

Also well done on your run Purple, hope you even out. Sounds like you enjoyed it. I was thinking of running today but I can't run on cold days because it makes me cough! My bro and sister both still have inhalers even as adults, although I never properly needed one, but guess we are a bit prone to that kind of thing in my family. Ript Core - urgh put my back out doing that one Blush

So finally did a workout today (24 to go!), still not willing to workout in the front room but dp has a box room upstairs for storing his crap guitars and stuff, and he also has a cross trainer in there and some 6kg weights so I decided to use those. The crosstrainer isn't plugged in so it was a bit of a slog but I broke it up with jumping jacks, weights and pushups. in the landing. One advantage of no dvd was I could put some music on and I set an alarm on the amazon dot for 25 minutes and just made it up as I went along.

Theromanempire · 29/11/2017 20:23

Upper Fix done tonight so 9/30 with 25 days to go...

Everyone's gone quiet Confused

Purpleraindeer · 29/11/2017 21:34

I’m here! Smile
Didn’t post last night as missed my workout Shock
I went to the actual real life shops. Was totally miserable. Never again. This is why they invented the Internet!
Did dirty 30 extreme tonight. Really need to do a workout tomorrow and friday if i can as I’m away for the weekend. Will try to get a run in whilst I’m away too if poss.
Your streak is very impressive roman. Are you getting sore? There is no way I could exercise for that many days in a row
Good work with the workout poppy. Will you do it again do you think?

Purpleraindeer · 01/12/2017 12:32

Missed workout yesterday. Sad ended up being too late from work to fit it in. Did cardio challenge this am. But even if I get a run in at the weekend that will only be 3x this week which is a bit rubbish. I have that flabby feeling I get when I’ve not exercised enough and eaten crap. Must do better next week!

yumyumpoppycat · 01/12/2017 19:31

Purple 3 x a week fits in with health recommendations, well done on keeping so consistently on it. It's also twice more than me Blush Did lots of walking at least today to the shop to buy mulled wine and apple crumble

Hoping to get back to hammer and chisel tomorrow once I have bleached the front room!

yumyumpoppycat · 01/12/2017 19:36

Sorry also Purple I prob would do that w/o again when the kids are commandeering the front room, so good to have another option.

Theromanempire · 02/12/2017 12:19

Done Extreme Circuit this morning so 10/30 with 22 days left. 2 unplanned rest days have made this very unlikely now as I can't workout tomorrow so that only gives me 1 rest day between now and Christmas Grin think I might need to lower the target Blush

Putting the Christmas tree up over the next couple of days which means the space in our lounge will become limited so not sure me and DH will be able to work out together Hmm

Can anyone recommend any good arm workouts (that are 30 minutes)? I've been rotating 21df, Upper focus and Ript Up for about 6 months now and I'm really bored of them.

Purpleraindeer · 02/12/2017 18:01

Just quickly checking in - try tabata strength roman. Loads of press ups (in a good way) but lots of variety. Or Tabata Power - press ups and tricep dips as well as some cardio.

yumyumpoppycat · 04/12/2017 19:42

How did you go with your arms workout Roman?

I did my made up workout again today, I have cleaned the front room but now dp has stored a load of stuff in there for the next couple of days which I forgot about and was really cross when I went to workout in there and still couldn't!

Purpleraindeer · 04/12/2017 21:03

Good to get the workout in poppy!
I did a run at the weekend which was great. C4miles, maybe a bit more. Also walked absolutely miles for various reasons.
Tabata strength tonight. Love that one. Couldn’t help getting a bit self critical as I think I’m a bit more wobbly around the tummy. Just need to turn that into something positive and either workout more or eat less......

yumyumpoppycat · 04/12/2017 21:25

Purple well done on your run! My wobbly tummy is defo motivating me to want to exercise today, sadly the winter drive to eat carbs is more than cancelling that out! I want to be strict as pos for the next two weeks but am going to have a serious battle against the urge to eat all the stodge. It is so hard to eat salad when it's cold.

Theromanempire · 04/12/2017 21:27

Good work on the exercise ladies - it all counts Xmas Smile

Not done any arm workouts this week yet - Tuesday is arm day so plan on doing it tomorrow. I have looked at the Tabata ones purple and they don't really appeal as I wanted something with weights. I've found a couple on Fitness Blender which look good - no nonsense or frills with straight forward exercises with dumbells.

Plyo fix tonight so 11/30 with 20 days to go.

Where has reastie gone? Hope she is OK. Or has she disappeared into her christmas thread never to be seen again? [Fgrin]

Theromanempire · 04/12/2017 21:28

Oops emoji fail Xmas Blush

yumyumpoppycat · 05/12/2017 00:42

Grin we will have to star jump onto her thread wearing legwarmers and sweat bands and rescue her from the tinsel and wrapping paper!

Totally agree re it all counting Roman, even if I only do one workout in a week it is still there in the background and not abandoned altogether iyswim. One advantage with fitness blender type things is there is less distraction so I reckon you can learn how to do the weights by yourself without needing to follow an instructor, I really struggle to do that.

Purpleraindeer · 05/12/2017 06:29

Roman - What about 21dfx? I don’t know how different it actually is from 21df though. Also the upper body one from p90x3. I don’t know whether it’s on the secret site. Hope the fitness blender one was good.

Yes hope reastie is ok. I owe her a massive debt of gratitude as I’ve done all of my Xmas shopping just from her threads. Just need to wrap it now. Sigh.

Theromanempire · 05/12/2017 10:19

yum love the idea of star jumping onto the thread to rescue Reastie Xmas Grin

Purple I have done the 21dfx Upper workout a few times but wasn't that keen. I will have a look at the P90X one, thank you.

I did the Fitness Blender one this morning and it was good - very basic (basically about 15 different exercises which you do for 45 seconds each and no repeated exercises) but it felt like it was working. I think I might throw a couple of Abs ones in aswell as I am bored of Pilates Fix/Flat Abs Fix/Dynamic Core.

Managed to drag myself out of bed this morning at 5.00am for the first time in weeks (I had got very lazy!) so 12/30 workouts done with 19 days left. However, I am clubbercising tonight so it I do a couple of doubles over the next few Tuesdays, it will give me wriggle room for rest days elsewhere and I might just hit the target Xmas Wink

Reastie · 05/12/2017 19:06

Where was the star jumps with tinsel Grin . That did make me laugh, I have a total mental picture of you all doing that!!

Glad everyone is still working hard. Purple I'm Envy you can just go out for over 6 miles after not running much for ages, my runs have got shorter as my knee plays up so I usually only go about 6-7 k now, but I figure it's all better than nothing.

Thermo re arm workouts I seem to remember I liked the t25 upper workouts. I also enjoyed p90x upper weight work. P90x3 has a great couple of ones for upper involving pull up bar but would only work if you had a pull up bar obv. Arm workouts used to be my fave, I miss them :( how are you doing space wish with the tree?

Feeling very fat ATM. Too scared to weigh myself Blush. My portions are going up (anyone else finding dark days and huge hunger?) and now I'm mixing in a weights workout once a week I'm burning less calories (I know weights are good in the long run to build muscle which burns fat at rest etc but I can only use twiddly weights so it's not a proper workout). Have done les mills bodystep (minus the push up type stuff) on the secret site twice in the past week ish which is good fun and I'll aim for one a week on that once I'm home with dd for Christmas holidays. Feel like I'm just not working hard enough and want to push myself and do more yet my knee/gluten isn't perfect and my arm is still an issue. Sorry, I leave you for a week then come back and just moan! In good news last week in BA class I had to modify a burpee as I can't do it so added in a tuck jump thing instead and the instructor spotted me and gave me a 'nice work I see that' type comment [proud].

Think I'll hope for a run, body step, body attack, pump/weights a week at home on dvds/secret site over festive season. What are everyone else's plans? I'm hoping to stick with 4 a week (my limit set by the physio) despite Christmas although won't do anything on Christmas Day.

Reastie sorry, I got stage fright Xmas Grin

I am also struggling with eating at the moment - I just want to stuff my face continuously which I am not sure the exercise is balancing out Xmas Blush Really difficult to get your head in the right place this close to Christmas aswell isn't it?

So I did clubbercise last night which was amazing as she threw some Christmas tunes in - rave version of Jingle Bells anyone?? Can't beat dancing to Mariah Carey Xmas Smile then I did a Fitness Blender Abs workout this morning so my tally is 14/30 with 18 days to go.
