I hope you find me

Oh how could I forget - so Envy about the Strictly tickets!! I absolutely love it and really want to go and see it. I apply for tickets to Blackpool every year but never win Sad

Reastie · 21/09/2017 14:22

The tickets are for the tour thermo not that actual show. Not sure where you are ATM but the tickets officially go on sale tomorrow morning so you could get good seats? Sadly I'm not going as my sister is taking my mum (it's a joint present from us and I couldn't do the date).

Well, I made up my own legs workout today. Hoping I can walk ok tomorrow! Considering I made it up myself feel quite proud but I figure I've done so many legs workouts and the moves are all very similar. I essentially did one squat based move followed by one lunge based . 15 reps first set then 12 second set plus extra pulses at the end of second set then repeat before starting next round. Different variation each round. Final round was bridge and calf lifts.

Off to physio in a min, fingers crossed the awful brace I have to sleep in is helping.

Ah I see - I did go to the tour a couple of years ago. DS1 was obsessed with Strictly so my mum bought him tickets for Christmas. It was really good and fab to see some of the breathtaking dances from the series in real life. It was the year that Caroline Flack won and Simon from Blue was in it so got to see his Argentine Tango in the flesh (albeit from a distance Grin).

Well done on the home workout - you must be so disciplined as I literally have to have someone telling me what to do and when I can stop Blush even though they aren't actually in the room with me and I could stop whenever I wanted, I daren't disobey Shaun and Autumn Grin

Theromanempire · 21/09/2017 16:36

Oh I should have thrown some of these into my message since we are talking Strictly ---> Glitterball Glitterball Glitterball

Reastie · 21/09/2017 18:02

I do like having people tell me what to do! But it meant I could catch up with bake off and drool at cakes whilst feeling saintly and working to start the same time.

I once took dd to see the three little pigs in London and Simon from blue was the big bad wolf and it was after he'd been on strictly so there was a strictly reference and I think a bit of dancing (as well as a lot of huffing and puffing!).

Have you done cardio fix yet thermo?

Reastie what a fantastic idea to watch tv while exercising - I don't think I could be that coordinated, I can see it might work with weights workouts hmmm.

No roman Blush I didn't get up at 5.00 or even 6.00, I might set my alarm tomorrow (sat) for 7.00 though will be a miracle if this happens I do need to get into a routine, will be like being in the army but think I need more set times for things.

Purpleraindeer · 23/09/2017 20:14

I've still got a bruise on my shin from where I slammed a dumbbell into it when not paying attention. No way should I watch tv and work out at the same time.

Lower fix and then dirty thirty for me over the last 2 days. Managed to do the bonus exercise on dirty 30 properly for the first time without toppling over so I call that a win - I wouldnt have thought was possible in 3 weeks. Impressive. 21dfx obviously does work. I should admit that I still can't do that exercise with weights. Anyone who can is nothing short of heroic in my book.

Hope you're all well. Reastie - you're killing me with your Xmas thread. You're getting me all anxious and I've still got 3mths to go! Smile lots of amazing ideas on there though. I just can't stop looking at it.

Reastie · 23/09/2017 20:46

I know purple, it is slightly addictive! I've bought dh a 3D printer pen when I have no real clue how it works! Well done on the workouts, it's great to hear 21df is giving good progression.

Was due for run today but felt really off and my back was really twingy so sofa day. Hoping to wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed tomorrow and do my run tomorrow instead, even if it's a short one it'll be better than nothing. Legs still ache a bit from my made up legs workout on Thursday which can't be bad :)

Hi everyone! I'm new to the exercise board, but I'm just wondering how realistic it is for me to tone my body up in a month?

My weight is fine, but I have a lot of excess skin on tummy from having dd(5yrs agoBlush), which I'd like to try and tighten before my holiday at the end of October. What's the best exercise to help with toning?

yumyumpoppycat · 24/09/2017 15:21

MrD welcome! I am not sure (wish I knew!), apparently getting below a certain weight can make things tighten - something to do with fat cells, but if it is genuine excess skin I don't think exercise will make a huge difference. But exercising and eating as well as possible for a month so you have the max confidence and feel good can't hurt though. 30 day shred is always a pretty good one the dvd is cheap and includes planks, pushups, weights etc. Do post on here if you want to post your workouts etc for motivation!

Did a new bodyshred workout today - it was too hard but kept going ish through to the stretches so pretty happy!

Good to know 21 day fix works Purple - well done on your progress.
How are you feeling today Reastie?

yumyumpoppycat · 24/09/2017 15:24

Oh by the way I def can't workout and watch tv as bashed my hand on the weights on the floor while doing supermans today!

DearMrDilkington · 25/09/2017 09:05

Thank you yum . Its not so much excess skin but it's sort of like that postnatal pouch you get after having a baby iykwim?

I've found some exercise apps on my phone that are meant to help tighten stomachs and bums, so I'll give it a go and see how I get on!

Any tips on how to help the aching muscles afterwards? I'm very sore today!

Reastie · 25/09/2017 10:17

Hello dearmr. My help is limited I'm afraid as I have a huge amount of excess skin on my tummy. I think you learn to love the post workout ache! (Assuming it's aching in a good way...). I suppose it depends how bad the problem area is, for example my tummy will never be tight no matter how much exercise I do as my skin is pretty loose and baggy. When I do lots of abs work I can get a nice line down the side of my waist and I can feel muscle under the skin but it still looks saggy! I hear a lot of people saying diet has a lot to do with abs as well as exercise.

Yumy oops to weight banging.

Well, I did a short run yesterday which was better than nothing but trying to ease myself back in. Today I did 25 min speed (or was it agility, I forget) on the shift shop workout. Never done shift shop today but it was quite good. Not as good as Shaun t cardio but better than tony!

So, I have thread worms Shock. I wondered why I had a weird bottomless pit hunger and weird stomach symptoms! I've been eating loads over the week end because I've been feeling constantly hungry now I know why! Urgh, I actually saw them last night! Now on a huge cleaning mission today and hoping my diet goes back to normal. You know the discussion about some people not eating when they get stressed/anxious etc and how most of us are the opposite? Well it seems some people lose weight and appetite when they have thread worms whereas as usual I'm the opposite!

OP posts:
Theromanempire · 25/09/2017 12:26

Dearmr I can't help with your question - sorry. Not sure how you can get stretched skin to go back to how it is (although very slim celebs seem to be able to do so after giving birth so not sure how that happens Hmm)

Reastie ooh very spooky but it dawned on me last night that DS2 might have worms Blush He has been complaining that his bum has been itching at night - I'm too scared to look though Blush DH said he would do it tonight but it is properly freaking me out just thinking about it - I'd rather deal with nits over and over then worms. Hope you get sorted - is there treatment you can take?

Weekend has been a complete bust for me - only managed 1 workout since last Tuesday due to not being well (not worms-related). Unfortunately (just like you Reastie), illness makes me eat more rather than lose my appetite so you can imagine how the last few days have gone. Anyway, today is another day and hopefully Plyo Fix beckons later.

Reastie · 25/09/2017 12:58

Thermo you need ovex from the chemist. Unfortunately everyone in the family needs to take it and again in two weeks. You also should change bed sheets and towels, Hoover and dust worktops especially in the bedroom and underwear and pjs in bed. It's such a palaver! I'm on my fourth load of washing today ATM (I am known to go ott with this stuff though). The ironic thing is supposedly children get them more as they don't wash their hands well and I'm the most obsessional hand washer I know! Handy hint from mn I read last time I got them (I've only had them once before, a couple of years ago. I didn't even know such things existed before then!) was to slather bottom region in sudocream as it makes it difficult for the blighters to get out and lay eggs. Yuck. After I spotted two yesterday evening I couldn't sleep for feeling so yuck about it. I agree, nits are disgusting but less disguistingnmentally than worms! And apparently some people have them and show no symptoms (I guess why everyone in the house has to take th medicine). Luckily it doesn't take too bad so hopefully your ds won't mind. I remember reading threads on mn of parents sneaking into their child's bedrooms at night with a torch to shine on their children's bottoms as apparently they can be hard to spot otherwise Shock . Good luck to your dh maybe just take the medicine anyway just incase.

Sorry, that was totally off workout chat there.

As you were.

I came on here yesterday and was so horrified by the worms chat I didn't post! Shock it sounds horrible - I hope you're all surviving. Mind you every aspect of motherhood has me surprised at just exactly what revolting things I can put up with - potty training in particular was a dark time....

Did 21dfx power strength extreme yesterday and upper fix today. Power strength is a good one to bear in mind as it doesn't need weights and was mostly bodyweight stuff with practically no jumping but still felt like a good workout.

Reastie · 27/09/2017 06:51

I'm sorry purple, you can't unthink the whole worms thing now can you Shock.

Did shift shop core yesterday for a quick post work workout and today is body attack day, yay!

OP posts:
Theromanempire · 27/09/2017 10:23

reastie did you like shift shop core? I really rate it as a core workout and the exercises are different from your normal core stuff..'twisted cabbage patch' Grin Hmm

So I inspected DS2's bottom the other night and couldn't see anything...not sure what to do. The only symptom is an itchy bum but not sure that's enough to medicate and clean...

Theromanempire · 27/09/2017 10:26

reastie enjoy body attack..so Envy

Reastie · 27/09/2017 15:49

Thermo maybe just medicate and not bother with the cleaning stuff (I think quite a few people do this). Some mners routinely use over every few months so it wouldn't do any harm.

Body attack was ace but the class was so busy, almost dangerously so and I couldn't give it my all as I'd bang into people. Was really annoying and even the instructor commented how busy it was. I booked into next week and already 14th on wait list. 14th Shock I couldn't believe it! So it must be really popular and people jIt's probably go even if they didn't get a space. Which I was going to complain about then thought I might end out doing that next week if I don't get a place Blush although I'm not sure I could because I'm too good and nice and I'd feel too bad.

Shift shop I like so far but only done two workouts. I have to modify a lot because of injury but it still feels like a good workout. I rate it :)

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 28/09/2017 07:53

Body attack sounds like the Barry's boot camp workout I did a couple of times. The 6.30pm class used to book up within 5mins of being opened for bookings. It was good though. It sounds like the gym is being a bit greedy and over Filling the class though which is annoying for you reastie.

Did lower fix last night. I was not sad that it was my last time doing band walks. I just find them so hard and really dread them. Still not totally sure what I'm going to do next week once I've finished 21dfx. Am half wondering whether I should do a hybrid but I will never be able to develop a schedule as impressive as romans colour coded master piece!

Purpleraindeer · 29/09/2017 09:52

Was on a course with work yesterday and ate biscuits and cakes and drank coffee most of the day as they were on the tables. Urgh. Felt horrible and lethargy. by the end of the day so really felt like a workout. Cardio extreme was perfect. Only problem is I feel really tired today. It's a rest day and I'm not working but I frankly can't be bothered to do anything at all - I feel like just sitting around on the sofa but I have loads of things I should be doing instead.

yumyumpoppycat · 29/09/2017 15:54

Purple did you workout in the end? I am feeling under the weather and virusey think there are a of of bugs going round. Feel like I could sleep for a week. What about hammer and chisel for your next routine?

Hope everyone is worm free - never had this but mine have had nits a few times. Good re shift swap or whatever it is called, that's another one for me to add to my to do list!

Have a nice weekend all

Reastie · 01/10/2017 09:43

Just did bodyattack 98 on the secret site, think it might be the new one. I'm excited for my body attack class on Wednesday as apparently we will start the new one then so I may have had a sneaky peak before my class! Anyway, I heart NZ guy was there on that one too, and it was filmed in Germany so he went all that way! I think he must be in every single one. Made it more fun for me to spot him and he got a big high five from the instructor!

Yumy how are you feeling now? Hope everyone is feeling healthier. I hate this time of year with all the bugs.

Purple why is Barry's so popular? Is it really that different or great or is it because of the potential celeb spots/reputation?

Crap week here Confused

Anyhow, tomorrow is a new day! reastie I am going to try BA98 tomorrow morning now - I checked it out today but the tracks were all out of order Confused so I'll have to go back and forwards to do it properly Grin it looks hard so i feel I may be modifying a lot

Hope you've all had better weekends than me!
