Wow Roman well done re workouts {star} and fantastic news about WSP Grin Think I am on a secret project as don't want to buy new clothes this year and I am headed that way if I carry on re-gaining.

Ok signed up at least a year late to the secret site party! found one vid 59 mins Shock ...might go back to the you tube one Wink Will report back later this eve will do some hi fiving the air round 4.45 home stretch for you roman!

yumyumpoppycat · 09/09/2017 14:10

PS Reastie - there is a program on one of those random cable channels called my excess skin - and from the episodes I have seen it's very common to have complications, healing takes a long time and you wouldn't be able to exercise for months. Having said that the people who exercise a lot beforehand seem to get the best results.

TheBusThatCouldntSlowDown · 09/09/2017 15:54

Well done all the Body Attackers! I once did that class at the gym and I looked like one of those wind sock men filled with air that they have at football games; flailing around with no coordination at all, so well done you!

I'm still T25ing. Into my 3rd week of Beta now (I've taken longer to do it than the calendar but I've always done at least 4 work outs a week). My fitness has improved so much, I've lost 2 inches off my waist (yay!) And 1.5 inches of my chest (noooo!), but I'm so much more defined and I feel genuinely fit. I was doing 4+ classes a week at the gym before this but T25 has knocked gym classes into a cocked hat.

So sorry to hear about your arm Reastie, does the physio think you will be fully cured in the future? At least you will be getting the best advice and treatment (and will have super cardio strength!)

Has anyone done the Brazilian Buttlift workout? Is it OK for all over toning or is it exclusive to the bum? I was thinking of doing a hybrid of that and T25 Gamma when I've finished Beta, but if it's too similar to T25 perhaps it would be better to hybrid with PiYo instead? Ahh, there's too many choices of exercise out there!

yumyumpoppycat · 09/09/2017 17:45

Buttlift is ok but I prefer Piyo - tbh I haven't done either much - not my best purchases. Prefer p90x3 and 22 min hardcore with tony Horton. Quite like chalean extreme and hammer and chisel too - but only did really did the weights workouts rather than cardio with those.

Ok so Hives everyone! secret site was buffering too much so I had to give up and go with the less slick gym workout. I think at my gym the classes are 45 mins - I really couldn't do 59 and had to skip a bit Blush - no idea how everyone kept going. Think I need to work on my endurance.

yumyumpoppycat · 09/09/2017 17:46

PS Bus well done on your results from T25 that is brilliant!!

Theromanempire · 09/09/2017 19:28

Well I did it...it nearly killed me though! I am so used to doing short 30-minute workouts that it was so hard doing 60 minutes Grin and my legs were so tired by the end - to think I used to do that class at least 3 times a week Hmm. But I did really enjoy it and love that you get a full workout by the end - think I'll definitely be doing it again Smile Thanks for virtually joining me Yumyum

Bus well done on your T25 progress - I bet you must be so happy with your results. I have done the Buttlift extra (think it might be called Carnivale??). There were only 4 workouts in that series but they were only 30 minutes long and there was a dancy cardio one, a lower body one, an arm one and an all over body one so it is a really good mix. However, the presenter is not for me so I didn't really enjoy it.

I sound a bit like a stuck record but I really rate the 21 day fix workouts - again, they are short, they cover all types of workout and I love Autumn (although I know others do not!). I have put together a hybrid schedule which is a mix of T25, 21 day fix with a couple of the Shaun T week/Shift Shop workouts thrown in. Happy to share it with you if you would like?

TheBusThatCouldntSlowDown · 10/09/2017 18:34

Roman yes please, I'd love to give your hybrid schedule a try! Just realised that I'm actually on beta week 4 so I've only got one more week of T25 to go.

Reastie · 10/09/2017 18:40

Ok, I've done body attack too! Got confused abOut which one so not sure if it's the same as you guys did. Did you do the one with the 'roar' song and the guy in the audience who looked like a tourist with an I heart NZ shirt? Phew, it was hard work! But weirdly I think some of e tracks were exactly the same as the class I did last week! I'm not sure as I'm not sure how similar the releases are but there were at least three songs where the moves and the order of the moves etc were exactly the same.

Yesterday I did a run but was disappointing as got stitch so only did 35 mins.

Rest day tomorrow then abs on Tuesday after work.

Yumy I've never heard of the excess skin programme. I'd take excess skin in preference to being heavier but it's a bit soul destroying that I've done all that work. It's better than it might have been as I lost weight slowly and have done exercise.

Thermo that skirt update is fabulous, brilliant stuff.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 10/09/2017 18:51

Definitely progress on project winter skirt roman. That's fab Star. Youll be wearing it comfortably really soon I bet

And we'll done on the body attack both of you!

Good to hear from you Bus. Glad t25 is doing the business. It's amazingly effective isn't it? I don't really know why it is given that it is so short vs all the long gym workouts we've all no doubt done in the past. I'd second looking at 21 day fix. Autumn is very perky and a bit different to Shaun t but the workouts really are effective.

Lower fix today and upper fix yesterday. Was pleased I managed to squeeze both in so despite a bad start to the week I managed 4 workouts so not too bad. Smile

Theromanempire · 10/09/2017 19:42

reastie absolutely yes to the same video - that guy in the audience was so funny Grin totally looked like he had accidentally wandered in off the street and had no idea why he was there and what the hell he was doing! The moves in Body Attack are very samey - they just mix them up in different ways and occasionally throw something different in but obviously there are only so many different combinations you could have so it is quite possible that it would feel the same as the class you did but just to different music Confused

Thanks to you all for the virtual Body Attack workout Smile

Bus I will post the schedule from my phone in a second. I have colour coded it for you (I love a good excel spreadsheet Blush) to try and help you find the workouts on the secret site. Basically it is:

Monday - Cardio
Tuesday - Upper/Arms
Wednesday - Abs
Thursday - cardio/weights mix
Friday - Legs/bum
Saturday - all over body weights workout
Sunday - stretch (I either do the T25 one or the Shift Shop one which is good or you could the yoga one from 21 day fix) I don't do this religiously to be honest as I seem to need a day off mid-week because life gets in the way so have to use Sunday to catch up!

Hope it helps you decide what you want to do. Definitely try a 21 day fix workout and see what you think.

TheBusThatCouldntSlowDown · 10/09/2017 21:18

I love me a good spreadsheet, thanks so much! Flowers

I'll start it next Monday and see how I go. Will I need any special equipment (heavy dumbbells etc.) for these workouts?

Theromanempire · 10/09/2017 21:46

No, nothing that you probably don't already have for T25. I manage with a mix of 2.2kg dumbells and 4.5kg dumbells but I guess it depends on how much you can lift?

yumyumpoppycat · 11/09/2017 00:11

Brilliant schedule roman - and that reminds me - now I am on secret site I can look for shaun week!!

Reastie I am not sure how I ended up watching that program, it's quite badly produced but seems fairly honest. A couple of people they have shown had brilliant results, or really clearly needed to do it for quality of life but others I am not sure it would have been worth all the pain and long recovery.

Purpleraindeer · 13/09/2017 20:53

That is one fantastic schedule roman. It reminds me of my revision timetables when I was at school. I particularly admire the colour coding!

I've just finished week 2 of 21dfx. Cardio extreme was a lot easier than last week - it made a massive difference having a rest day before I did it. I think dirty 30 is the hardest workout for sure.

Hope you're all doing ok

Theromanempire · 13/09/2017 21:24

Thanks all - I'm rather proud of my schedule Grin

Reastie · 14/09/2017 10:09

Yumy I finally remembered to take a picture of the pedometer thing I have. Hopefully is attached to this post. I bought it last year fir Christmas for a friend but she then got a Fitbit so I didn't give it to her. It's been sitting in a cupboard for nearly a year so if you'd like to give it a go I'm happy to post it to you for free. It isn't as fancy as a Fitbit as doesn't do heart rate etc but might be more accurate with steps.

Well, did body attack class yesterday and really enjoyed it. I think I will quite get into it! I miss not being able to do burpees and I hate that I can't do the upper stuff but I did high tuck jumps and it's actually quite fun seeing how high I get in the gym mirror as I have no concept of how my jumps look when doing dvds.

Was planning legs day today but woke up and had a weird fainty turn (I get this occasionally when I'm stressed or tired, it's just getting back to work and the shock to the system) so quiet day in the sofa today although have managed to allocate and organise nearly all my Christmas shopping Shock . Sometimes I wish I was one of those people that could just do nothing!

Thermo that schedule looks brill, it's good to mix things up a bit as stops the boredom and keeps your body guessing.

Hi Reastie thanks so much, I already have a pedometer I should dig it out and start using it , yours looks like a good one though. Speaking of which I actually returned the tracker I got and have been refunded so am feeling very virtuous!

Hope you are feeling better after feeling faint this morning Flowers

Reastie · 14/09/2017 18:29

Just send me a pm if ever you decide you'd like it yumy it'll probably sit in my cupboard until I decide to take it to the charity shop

Feeling better than earlier thanks but been a slob all day, done less than 3000 steps all day Shock . Currently reading a book about memory techniques by Derren Brown, my head hurts!

Fainting sounds scary reastie - I think you've mentioned this before. I can't believe your Xmas planning. I scared myself by going on the Xmas threads. Argh. I feel behind and now I'm stressed! Some great ideas though.

I've had a super busy and stressful week. Somehow 21dfx didn't cut it tonight - I needed some jumping around and sweating to burn off some stress so I did insanity plyo. Was exactly what was needed. I've been craving chocs and cake etc all week as a reaction to stress (but have resisted!). I am the exact opposite of all these people who say they forget to eat when stressed.

Reastie · 14/09/2017 20:57

I'm a stress eater too purple! My body gets more hungry when I'm stressed or anxious, I could never not eat from stress! I know what you mean about needing some jumping and glad you broke the schedule as bet you felt amazing by the end of the workout (that Shaun t 'I hate this, I can't do this' all the way through and 'I love this, I feel amazing' afterwards is what I get!

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 14/09/2017 22:15

I 100% stress eat. Apparently it is some survival instinct! I must be very stressed at the moment Wink

Have started my shopping but run the risk of buying dc things which they will change their mind about. It also feels too early to ask them for a shopping list letter to santa

Theromanempire · 15/09/2017 10:14

I totally stress eat aswell - if something goes wrong, I automatically reach for comfort food/chocolate. I wish that I was one of those people that was unable to eat when stressed but I'm not and never will be.

I keep dipping in and out of Reastie's Christmas threads - they are so useful and I have got loads of bargain ideas from them Smile They are fab - if very quick moving!

Theromanempire · 15/09/2017 10:15

Purple totally get why you did Insanity - sometimes you just need to do a workout that makes you feel good and that you enjoy (if that's the right word). A bit of Shaun T is always a welcome change from Autumn (as much as I lov eher Grin)
