Aaah thanks Reastie and Yumy. Think must be my body being in shock after decades of no exercise. Hopefully it'll ease.
Glad you're getting better Reastie. Can imagine it's difficult to give yourself a total exercise break when poorly once really into exercise. What concert are you office to?
Which class is that you're doing re jumping over each other? Sounds scary. Be glad I'm not in it... I'd be that person who fell on someone.

yumyumpoppycat · 27/07/2017 09:07

Yes I agree that class has not been properly risk assessed! It's called Badass Circuits.

Reastie I think decorating is very hardwork! Don't feel fat, be proud of yourself getting stuff done even though I am being a hypocrite because I feel exactly the same at the moment, although technically it's true as my clothes are tight

Ooh Purple, I have just noticed that the fittest prog on Netflix is a new one so going to try that over the weekend.

Reastie · 27/07/2017 10:57

Yumy it's called badass circuits because you have a bad ass at the end (as in black and blue from falling on it) Grin

Decorating is not strenuous the way I do it Blush

Concert is a children's thing but I'm still exited Blush I need to get out more

I hate those classes where you have to pair up too poppy. I used to do British military fitness and there was lots of that. I'm not a tactile person so all that touching sweaty strangers made me a bit Shock. When I did my boot camp class last week there was an odd number and I had to pair off with the instructor. It was sort of like primary school when no-one picks you for PE. DVDs are so much safer!

Sounds like you have 'insanity calves' notime. theyll ease off as your body gets used to it. You made a good call on buying t25. I'm in week 2 of insanity and I've just realised there are only 6 workouts plus 2 stretch type ones. I'm getting a bit bored of the 3x mth one ones and I've got 2.5 weeks to go! T25 is def better value as its 10 different work outs.

Hope you're feeling better reastie.

yumyumpoppycat · 27/07/2017 22:33

Even the instructor didn't take pity on me Purple!!

Are you back from your concert Reastie? Unfortunately I appear to have caught your illness as I don't know anyone else who is poorly {wags finger}, am feeling sneezy and grotty. Urgh unless I caught it from hifiving at exercise classes Shock

NoTimeToDillyDally · 28/07/2017 00:19

Yup. I like the T25 (although I do spend the middle third of the video visualising myself laying on the floor at the end). Often I do that, at the end.

Turned out impossible to do workout morning time as have the DCs home. So doing it at crazy o'clock when finished work (evenings): 9.30/10pm

Reastie · 28/07/2017 07:12

Good morning!

Concert was brill thanks, and even better was dd did so much dancing she went to sleep really quickly yesterday evening and is still sleeping now! Sadly I couldn't stand and do lots of dancing like her to burn bonus calories as I would've completely blocked the view of the children behind and looked really weird being the only adult standing and dancing .

Yumy I'm sorry my germs passed over to you, hope you feel better soon. I did a partner workout class twice in my gym yonks ago and both of them I hated. One of them gave me a back injury which progressed to a slipped disc and took me a couple of years to return to normal Angry .

NoTime what age are your dc? Dd is 6 and I can now bribe her to let me do a quick workout.

Well, despite not feeling great this bug still hasn't progressed fully so I'm going to press on and do a 30 minute workout today and hope for a run tomorrow. Not sure what to do though....maybe 22 minute hc and then the hc abs afterwards or maybe an insanity max but modify where needed or maybe combat 30.... ohhhh choices choices!

Reastie, you've inspired me. Going to do my 25 now as know I'll be busy later. Concert sounds good. You're v considerate - bet you wanted to combine a workout with enjoying a boogie. We went to a family Silent Disco last weekend. Was a good workout (but did get bored after 30 mins). Think I've trained myself to not to move any more than that. Lol

I have two DCs (one 6 and one 9). My 9 year old has Asperger's. Exercising is helping me to ... channel my energies.

yumyumpoppycat · 28/07/2017 13:50

What option did you go for Reastie? I would have gone hard corps I think! Concert sounds like it was fun Grin Glad our bug hasn't progressed, dd2 vom'd in the night so today has been a tv day. I am doing sod all gentle house work.

Notime what is a silent disco? My dds are similar ages dd2 is 6 and dd1 just turned 10 a week or 2 ago, ds is 12 in the next few weeks.

We watched a bit of fittest on earth today (the 1st 2 events rather than the build up etc) and dd2 said with a totally straight face 'what if you end up being the fittest woman on earth mummy' Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 28/07/2017 13:51

Sorry Reastie I meant glad your bug hasn't progressed Blush

Reastie · 28/07/2017 15:02

Do they like playing on the tablet/computer notime? This will often keep dd quiet for half an hour. Or the pound shop is great for random things to give her as something new and exciting to do for half an hour. I stock up on random things when I see them and bring them out sporadically when I'm desperate for a workout or to get something done! Must be hard with the added autistic needs though, well done for sneaking it in early.

Ended out doing hc22 cardio 1 and core 1. Did both in 30 mins as had to ff two core moves I couldn't do. Forgot what a good little workout hc can be when you're pressed for time.

There's a local adult and child combined aerobics class I'm thinking of going to with dd on Monday :)

Can I join and say hi?

I normally do classes at the gym- Zumba, body pump and I've just started yoga and spin. Not sure about yoga and spin, I'll give it a few more sessions before I decide.

Summer hols are going to make it harder to get to classes so I'm going to break out the dvds again. I've got t25, 30 day shred, shred with weights and kettleworx. I'll probably mix them up depending on what I feel like doing.

NoTimeToDillyDally · 28/07/2017 17:40

Yumy, I love that hour DD has faith. You never know!!!
Welcome, Curls. I only jones the thread last week. In fact, I've only Brenna exercising (gym classes) for three weeks before that - but it had helped me so much that had I needed to find a way to keep going over the school hols. when I couldn't get to the gym. Sounds like you've got al the DVDs!

Purpleraindeer · 28/07/2017 18:55

Welcome curly!

Poppy that's cute re your dd. I hope you told her you were the 2nd fittest on earth already? My ds was the opposite today - he was cuddled up with me on the sofa and said 'mummy don't do your DVD' every time I tried to move. I did peel him off eventually. Was hard to get motivated though as I felt knackered. Feel better after workout though so glad I did it.

Early workouts are hard notime. I did them at 6am for a while. Now I'm an evening exerciser like you. Normally 7.30pm once kids are in bed.

NoTimeToDillyDally · 28/07/2017 19:36

Yes - Reastie I'd not have imagined exercising in the evenings would be do-able as it's so late for me, but it's ok.

Purple, thanks for the Poundland / Ipad tip. Good one!!!! My son loves the electronics aisle in there (a torch, an LED light, etc.)

Purpleraindeer · 31/07/2017 20:39

Very quiet on here?
Super busy weekend, but squeezed in a 3mile run. Felt sore today which doesn't seem right. Running doesn't agree with me anymore!
Pure cardio tonight.
And I've bravely signed up for a crossfit trial session on Saturday Shock

Reastie · 31/07/2017 20:52

Ohh purple you must report back in detail about crossfit. I'd love to be able to do that!

I can't workout in the evening as I find my body is too tired and I get really bad indigestion. I eat dinner early with dd (5pm) but even by 7-8pm and if I just have soup for dinner I still find just the food from the day jumps around and I can't do it. I had issues in the past feeling awful during workout classes at the gym in the evening . I even find if I run in the afternoon I can't run as far or fast as I get stitch a lot no matter how light I eat at lunch or how long after lunch it is. My bodd is weird like that! My best time is about 9am in the morning.

Well, did a parent and child workout class today. Sadly dd didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped (she'd never done a workout class before and it was fun and good for children but she said afterwards she was indifferent about returning). It was nearly an hour round trip to get there and the class itself wasn't that hard (it felt pretty easy in general. Got a sweat in and heart up but didn't push myself in anyway following it). I told the instructor about my injuries and that I would modify as needed and I was owed for exercise but I couldn't do some things e.g. Burpees. She told me she couldn't do burpees either. It was meant to reassure me but made me wonder why she couldn't yet was an exercise instructor! Hopefully I'm just vastly overthinking that. I'd like to return in that it's nice to do a class with real actual people and especially one dd can join in with, but at the same time I could have done a DVD in the driving time to and from...

Gah I keep losing my messages!

Purple that is v exciting re Crossfit

Reastie - maybe try the class one more time, the distance would put me off but quite fun in summer hols etc.

Hope you have managed to distract your kids and get some exercise in Notime!

PS where is Roman? Imagining you are on a lovely summer hol somewhere with a gin in hand Grin

NoTimeToDillyDally · 01/08/2017 23:14

Easier this week and next as they're at summer camp so I'm
putting gym stuff on and waiting to shower later.
Good idea to drop into another class with your DD!
Children often feel less than enthused after the first time at things. You know your DD best though.

NoTimeToDillyDally · 01/08/2017 23:16

Reastie, doesn't sound like a terribly inspiring teacher re not being able to do burpies but I guess she might've been trying to make you feel more comfortable in saying so, as you said.
How was she at demonstrating?

Purpleraindeer · 02/08/2017 10:53

Reastie - your point re the extra travel time etc is why I don't do classes. I guess the way to look at it is that it takes longer but that you get the benefit of working out with others along with some variety/access to instructors etc. I will be doing the same experiment on Saturday so it may or may not be worth it from my perspective. Shame your DD didn't enjoy it. My dd doesn't tend to like new things but then once she's got used to the idea, loves them, so might be worth giving I think another go?

Did plyo circuit today. Pushed as hard as possible in the circuit 1 with the result that I was half dead by the second one. I guess that's the way you're supposed to do it, but wasn't exactly enjoyable.....

Purpleraindeer · 02/08/2017 10:55

I think it's fine re the instructor not doing burpees - perhaps she was injured? I guess we should all be pleased to see that you can be fit without burpees. Although I have to confess I actually like them Blush

yumyumpoppycat · 02/08/2017 23:45

Purple in my case it is worth doing an occasional class because I work MUCH harder than at home. I know for sure I suck at core work from comparing myself to others but not so bad at burpees and pushups etc. I also know I peak early so probably should try and do longer workouts at home.

However I like the dvds at home for convenience and can't be doing with all the travel time on a daily basis. So for me a dvd class combo is the best option.

Ooh summercamp notime Wine well done on getting to the gym.

Purpleraindeer · 04/08/2017 09:17

Pure cardio and then cardio abs last night. My abs hate Shaun t!
Felt stiff when I walked down the stairs this morning too so must have worked hard.

NoTimeToDillyDally · 04/08/2017 12:38

Big weekend last week and felt utterly depressed after eating all I'd gorged on.
Did Monday (T25). Tuesday missed. Wednesday zoomed by. Busy last night. Not looking good re getting back on track especially with the weekend looming. Advice welcome.
