I read the kindle sample of that obesity code book poppy. It looked interesting. Well done on max cardio. I don't want to alarm you but the mth 1 equivalent isn't that much easier. Definitely give it a go though.

No time - just have a look at some online reviews to see the difference between insanity and t25 - they are very different in terms of type of exercise, length of work outs and equipment needed. Prob the price difference is just that insanity was released longer ago.

I did my first insanity workout tonight - plyo cardio circuit. Holy crap - my face was like this colour Angry by the end. It is v humid and hot here which didn't help! I enjoyed it though. And got it all done in 35mins by skipping the stretch at the beginning but doing the stretch at the end.

NoTimeToDillyDally · 18/07/2017 23:05

Purple, it really is a humid night to be sweating it out! Good for you!!!!
I've ordered the T25. Want them all hutch £££££ to do that.

I did a free Sweaty Betty YouTube video, this morning. Was really good but not in the least bit 'fancy' as it said it'd be. 45 mins. I cut it a bit. The challenge was doing it with two children padding about and laughing.

Purpleraindeer · 19/07/2017 14:03

Stupidly humid again today. Was so sweaty after cardio power and resistance I was dripping on the exercise mat during press ups Shock

It has definitely had an impact even after two work outs. My calves are killing!

Good call on t25 notime. You'll be doing full press ups in no time! Let us know how you get on. Also get your kids involved. Mine (ages 2 and 4) either sit and watch the DVD whilst I do it or do it with me whilst falling around laughing.

yumyumpoppycat · 19/07/2017 14:28

Grin re laughing children - I knocked a bit off Insanity Max30 tabata this morning as short on time, and my 2 dds took over while I went to have a shower.

Yes it was bloody boiling this morning - I was feeling smug about getting it done before it gets super boiling - but it is cool now Confused

Congrats re T25 purchase Notime, it was my first workout too! There are sometimes deals worth looking out for etc with beachbody workouts - but there is something about paying a decent chunk of money which made me stick to it a lot more closely than programs I have got since then.

NoTimeToDillyDally · 19/07/2017 15:57

Aaah thanks Yumy. Annoyingly, I missed the delivery this morning 😬😬😬😬
I'm going to do Sweaty Betty free one on You Tube (DCs permitting), later.

yumyumpoppycat · 21/07/2017 09:58

How was the sweaty betty workout no time?

I did Insanity m30 sweat intervals today 'this ain't hopscotch home girl
first time this week I have kept going until the end (although goes without saying I maxed out shortly after the warmup!) think its my favourite max30

Hope everyone s enjoying the sunshine '

Purpleraindeer · 21/07/2017 18:39

I think sweat intervals is the absolute hardest of the mth 1 workouts poppy. Even at my absolute fittest I never maxed out beyond 15mins. I love/hate it.

Did insanity pure cardio last night. I'm amazed at the number of cast members who flake out and who just end up standing around or having a sit down during the workout! It's ok for us at home to do that but surely it's not ok if you're actually on the DVD?!

RiversDisguise · 21/07/2017 21:28

Great to see the max30 love. I want to try Asylum but scared by the reviews.

NoTimeToDillyDally · 21/07/2017 22:01

Hi Yumy. I really like the SB Cardio Dance. There's not a dance in sight in the routine but it works the whole body really well (for me):
It's just under 40 mins.

I'm day two into T25 now. I miss SB as felt longer and more thorough tbh but I AM LOVING the manageability of T25, timewise.

NoTimeToDillyDally · 21/07/2017 22:03

Purple, I love the idea of demo people being puffed out
They usually look so unphased while I'm struggling.

yumyumpoppycat · 21/07/2017 22:57

You can always double up T25 notime {evil} Grin will check out the link thanks. I think 25 minutes is optimum for me 30 or more I find a slog.

Yes Purple - these people look super fit but are huffing and puffing and collapsing! I do find it comforting though compared to the slick casts. I quite enjoy watching the little dramas like Shanita's antics. There is one girl in pink on the workout I did today and when ST stands next to her she is like a machine - honestly it is amazing, but a few minutes later you can see her on the verge of collapse so it was obviously too much for her!

NoTimeToDillyDally · 21/07/2017 23:16

Good point. When I have more time and am finding it a bit easier, I might do that or add the SB one. scary thought though.

Reastie · 22/07/2017 14:06

I prefer it when they look like they're working hard in the workouts but only when it's genuine. There's a shaun t set, I forget which one, where Tania is the modifier, and I find her really annoying as she's obviously finding it easy yet she does looks and noises as if it's really challenging. I know she's trying to be relatable that the modifier struggles too, it for some reason it just annoys me she's putting it on. I like it in insanity original where they are truly wiped out when they have those breaks!

Well, back from holiday at last but not feeling great with fitness. In the end I only managed tf hiit 20, 50 minute run and combat live all week, that's a bit rubbish for me. Dh came down with a nasty bug a couple of days ago and dd and I are either fighting it off or on the cusp of getting it so I'm worried that I'll do full on exercise and it'll bring out the big (does anyone else find that happens to Them?). I'm sitting in the sofa having had hardly any sleep and driven for hours to get us home this morning thinking I really should do a workout as I haven't in 4 days now which is the longest ever in a few years bar illness. I think I'll force myself into a gentle one.

Oh, and I had a dream the other day tony Horton did a weekly class in my gym and I went and was really excited and he was really good but no one else knew who he was. See, I don't workout for a few days and I start dreaming bb!

NoTimeToDillyDally · 22/07/2017 19:44

Wonder whether it's the T25 where the modifier looks like she's faking the effort, Reastie. Hope you don't come down with the same big as your DH.

Purpleraindeer · 23/07/2017 17:30

Poppy I always watch the girl with the long blonde hair who's on the front row in max 30. She is unbelievably hardcore. I have no idea how someone can do what she does but I aspire to it!

Hope you've not come down with the bug reastie. Yes, exercise does bring on illness for me. Ha ha re Tony Horton dream.

I went to an outdoor boot camp class yesterday. Was a one off but I really enjoyed it. The instructor asked me whether I did any regular exercise when I arrived and I was so offended by this that I was determined to be the best at all the exercises (competitive much?!). It didn't feel too hard at the time but my shoulders and abs are killing. I struggled to get up out of bed this morning! Was really nice to do something a bit different. I've been thinking about giving cross fit a try after watching a film about it on Netflix. Is quite a mindset change gojng to a class but might be more practical now the kids are older. Hope you've all had good weekends

NoTimeToDillyDally · 23/07/2017 18:13

Oooh which film was it, Purple?

I started with a local running club today. I'm majorly unfit and was so happy to be able to keep moving even if it was at 'go-slow' speed. Then I came home and did Sweaty Betty. Good all body workout. This is such a turnaround for me. Really starting to see the results though after just a few weeks. Bring on the holiday!

Reastie · 23/07/2017 19:32

Purple also interested in the film (although I don't have Netflix so will live in hope it's on you tube). Speaking of which, there was a documentary I enjoyed on you tube a few weeks ago. I forget it's name but it's an Australian man who is quite clean eating who changes his diet to include 40g sugar a day (it may have been 50, apparently it's the Australian average sugar intake every day). He kept the same calories just had more sugary foods and also did the same exercise. The difference in his body was insane. I think it might have been cal,ed 'not another sugar film' or something like that. I can look it up if you like?

Purple classes are great, I like a mix of classes and dvds as I feel the classes I've done aren't as good overall as the range of bb workouts.

Notime that's great, keep it up!

Well, I decided to do isometric p90x3 yesterday (the one where you stand still in poses for 45 seconds each pose). I had to modify all the core ones due to shoulder which made them a lot easier (frustratingly so). I also noticed my balance is rubbish compared to when I regularly did balance stuff, maybe I should increase balance work into schedule. Today I did a 6k jog. Again, not a big or challenging one but I'm still fighting off dhs bug (or it's just starting) and it's a really nasty flu ish one so I really don't want it! Dd and I are going to a concert later this week that has been preboojed for months and I'm genuinely looking forward to, I'm really twitchy we will be too ill for it.

Busy decorating now (which is not good at all for shoulder injury, my physio will despair) but hoping for a quick workout tomorrow.

Film is called 'fittest in the world' and it's about athletes at the cross fit games. I speculate wildly as to whether any are taking steroids given the look of them but I'm sure I'm just being cynical. I have seen something similar to the film you're talking about reastie except the one I saw got to that level of sugar by eating products branded as healthy (muesli bars, low fat yoghurt etc). It was really shocking what all that sugar did and how quickly. Hasn't made me go sugar free but I eat a lot less now. I just looked at mfp to check - never more than 30g.

yumyumpoppycat · 24/07/2017 21:40

I just watched the sugar one after reading Reastie's comment! It is amazing what a difference it made to his blood work ( I think he mainly looked bloated) however it looks as though his previous diet was paleo and I have tried that it is very hard to maintain. Also some of the weight gain would have been water weight from going from Paleo style to eating sandwiches and museli etc.

I did a gym class today (body attack) I didn't do as well as I would have wanted, was flagging by the end as not used to 45 minute workouts! I have to do 4 gym workouts this week, I get two months to do 5 classes yet end up taking them all on the last week Hmm

Purple if you start doing gym workouts don't leeeeave us we need you!

Reastie hope you are well for concert.

Notime - really good you are enjoying your workouts {hifive}

yumyumpoppycat · 24/07/2017 21:42

I have watched some of fittest, but I tried watching it twice and fell asleep both times Blush The girls arms are huge aren't they.

Purpleraindeer · 26/07/2017 13:54

Am watching that sugar film now. It was the one I'd seen before but I'm watching it again anyway. Horrifying stuff - particularly the fact that he's not eating biscuits/chocs etc it's just normal every day packaged foods. He is eating 40 teaspoons of sugar a day - 160g - I can't believe that's the average consumption!! Yuk.

Did pure cardio and then cardio abs today. Got through all of pure cardio with no breaks - yay Smile. Cardio abs was a different story. I never do ab work outs so it's fair to say I did take a few rests. Let's just say I might need a few attempts before I get even remotely better at that one.....Blush

yumyumpoppycat · 26/07/2017 22:28

Well done on Pure Cardio Purple!

Well. I did a class yesterday and it was the worst yet, it didn't say in the description but you needed a partner, and no one wanted to be my partner {sob}. I was hifivng myself for a while but then some poor woman arrived late and had to join up with me. We then had to jump over reach other in sphinx planks and crawl under each other in pikes, it was awful! I am going to stick with DVDs!

NoTimeToDillyDally · 26/07/2017 22:32

Hello All
Anyone else get a horrible burning feeling in their lower calf muscles when working out. Almost sickening/ acidic. Can't describe.

yumyumpoppycat · 26/07/2017 23:16

Ooh that sounds horrid notime. I did have some probs in my calves when I first tried running again acouple of years ago and I think it was due to pushing myself too much. It doesn't sound as bad as what you are experiencing though Flowers

Reastie · 27/07/2017 07:01

Yumy that class sound just plain dangerous! I would not want to risk having someone I didn't know jumping over me, it seems crazy and just asking for people to kick and fall on each other.

Notime the only time I've had something similar to that is when I've done a lot of calf raises or I think I had something similar when I first started working out in more extreme workouts and it was a shock to my calves. Maybe try just easing of the intensity for a while and see if that helps.

Haven't been in much this week because I've been spending most of my time decorating dds bedroom and also feeling very fat and unfit whilst I skive off hard workouts with this bug in the background still. Did lower p90x3 on Tuesday but with no weights but my glutes still ache! Good news is concert day is today, I'm not feeling great but not terrible so should be fine to go.
