I only went and filled up the last thread without realising Blush.

I hope you find me

Reastie I avoid swimming when I am on my period whether it is day 1 or day 5 - I am so paranoid about what could happen Blush

I just cannot get into Turbofire workouts - Chalene really annoys me (I am sure I have said that before) I refuse to believe that anyone can be that happy and hyper Hmm

I haven't exercised today due to time - I have skim-watched Day 2 of Shaun T and wasn't overly impressed. Solid cardio with a 15 minute block in the middle where it seems to be 1 minute on each exercise with no breaks - admittedly a lot of the moves look fun but I hate cardio at the best of times. I want some weights - I hope a couple of the workouts involve weights!

What I have noticed is that whilst there is a modifier in these who is great, there is one of the other participants who seems to be totally unmotivated Grin She constantly stops what she is doing (at one point she wanders off to get a drink when it is not a drinks break) and seems to spend a lot of time stood around not actually exercising - makes a change from his usual superfit bunnies Grin I like her as she represents my daily struggle working out Grin - keeping it real!

Reastie how do these people not have to wash their hair during the week?? I wash mine at 6am and by 6pm, my fringe is looking slightly on the greasy side (a hairdresser did give me a tip of spraying it with dry shampoo in the morning as a pre-emptative measure rather than when it is already greasy which does helps when I remember to do it ) The thought of what it would look like after 7 days does not bear thinking about!

RogerLimasOldestDreadlock · 13/06/2017 22:26

Hello all,

On hair washing - the current thing is washing less often anyway!

On mooncups, @Reastie, I know exactly what you mean!

I'm just over a week into P90X3 and apart from skipping Friday (just so tired and sore!) we've done them all.
I'm tired of it already. Need to keep going!

TheBusThatCouldntSlowDown · 14/06/2017 08:19

There is some way of making your hair less greasy so it needs washing less often, I think it involves rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar until it learns? I saw it on Pintrest once.

Was having trouble posting earlier, but now I'm up to Day 3 of T25. The first 2 days were doable but this morning (total body workout) was tough: so many planks and press ups! My face looks like this Angry for a solid hour afterwards.

Love the lazy participant in Shaun T day 2 Grin They are people like us!

Theromanempire · 14/06/2017 09:50

Bus Total Body circuit is the toughest of all the T25 workouts (well both Alpha and Beta ones) - I absolutely hated it with a passion and I remember well the week you have to do it 3 times Shock! Well done on getting through it.

I did Ript Up this morning Smile whilst I was tidying my weights away, a Jillian Michaels workout popped up (think it was called Killer Buns and thighs) so I watched it for a bit. It looked good - never done any of her workouts - anyone done them?

Purpleraindeer · 14/06/2017 21:13

Hi all
Hairwashing query is because it's now hot and doing max30 seems to make me sweat loads more (lovely!). I'd be absolutely gross if I lasted the whole week between hair appts reastie - and I can't see any product withstanding 5x max 30 sweat in a week!

Well done for sticking with it roger and bus. The first couple of weeks are the hardest until you get the routine of exercising bedded in. Also total body circuit is evil so don't be disheartened.

I've done loads of Jillian Michaels workouts. Don't remember much about killer buns and thighs. I liked no more trouble zones and 30 day shred and ripped in 30. She is quite shouty and aggressive though. I didn't mind it at the time but now I'm used to a more encouraging style from beach body so might find it annoying. 30 day shred and ripped do deliver. You do the workouts every day for 30 days (there are 3 or 4 levels) and the difference is amazing especially as they're only 3x a 6min circuit plus warm up/cool down. You will be sore though.

Max out power for me tonight. I can't believe I've been doing ab skis wrong the whole time. The cast touch their feet on the floor - I didn't realise that so have been killing my self trying to hold my feet up. No wonder I've never even been close to doing it for the full 45secs. Idiot. Makes me wonder how many other moves I'm making loads harder.

TheBusThatCouldntSlowDown · 14/06/2017 21:44

WHAT?! Shock oh jeez, that'll be a tough week.

I've done a few Jillian Michaels workouts. I have a soft spot for the 30 day shred, as that was what originally got me into exercising. You will spend a lot of time shouting "fuck off Jillian!" But then you become attached to her. Maybe it's like Stockholm syndrome.

yumyumpoppycat · 14/06/2017 22:15

Grin Stockholm syndrome

Roman you should defo try a JM workout! I hate shred level 1, prefer level 2. She mixes cardio and weights a lot like autumn. I have some of her newer workouts and have been meaning to do them. I think I have found her workouts tend to give me knee problems but maybe it's a coincidence.

Purple - that makes sense re hairwashing, sweat inervals in particular def warrants its own hairwash Grin Bit of a pain if you have awkward hair that needs blowdrying etc, my hair is a pain - long, fine and wavy. It's also going grey (am late 30s) so I dye it and the ends are really dry. I have a round face and nose so cant get away with a short style.

FINALLY found 22 hard corps workouts online so did resistance 1, which is a really solid workout given it's 22 minutes.

Purpleraindeer · 16/06/2017 06:28

I think we've all got Stockholm syndrome Smile

Max out sweat last night. It broke me for some reason. I felt sooo tired after I couldn't even post on here! I do love that work out though.

Good work on 22hc poppy. I think they're great work outs. I remember the resistance 2 and 3 workouts particularly were really good.

Enjoy the sunshine all

Reastie · 16/06/2017 06:51

I did pump and shred DVD yesterday. It hasn't been physio approved so I was naughty but i was so gentle it was frustrating. Mainly not having any weight in the barbell at all (although I have a traditional barbell not a pump one so the barbell weighs a few lbs itself) and skipping the shoulders track entirely. I wish I could go back to proper lifting as I miss it so much! Calves ache a bit today and legs (I'm not used to lunges and squats any more) so will decide later whether to go for a swim or have a rest day today in preparation for a hopefully longish run tomorrow.

Purple well done on max out sweat, I remember that being a killer one! Especially on a warm day. Weather here is due to get really hot over the week end so am dreading exercising, think I'll have to try to get it done early.

Yumy I agree about hc22, for 22 minutes they are great workouts. Over so quickly yet feel like a good challenge.

Thermo I know what you mean about turbofire. TBH I find the ladies in the DVD in the class more annoying than the presenter. They look so fake. I'm awaiting improvement in injury so I can do th can infamous Charlene workout with 'the shoes'

Just seen the brand new Shaun Week first workout and... Shaun has LOTS of grey in his beard. Lots. Shock

I mean greying is normal and we all do it but I thought doing his routines would make you immortal or summat. Shock

(Hello! Lurker delurking. )

Tony Horton literally said "ageing is for people who don't know better" - is that not entirely true then?

Beachbody have LIED to us! Shock

Reastie · 17/06/2017 14:42

Yes tony annoys me when he says 'aging is for idiots' on p90x3. Sadly nothing will prevent the inevitable.

Great news, I did a 10.5k this morning in this massive heat too. I didn't plan on doing that much but accidentally did a route longer than I thought! Don't know Howe I managed in this heat but so proud of my self as longest distance I've ever done even pre knee issue.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 17/06/2017 15:33

Reastie well done Star

Roger and Rivers - I am shocked and appalled by Tony's LIES - does this mean Tony dies his hair?! Good on Shaun, sadly I don't think I can rock grey hair as well as he does.

I couldn't use the laptop today so did Iso speed hammer - it was hard in the heat.

Theromanempire · 17/06/2017 18:53

Will catch up later but am about to enter the crazy world of Speed 4.0 Shock wish me luck Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 17/06/2017 18:55

OOOOh Good luck Roman Grin

RiversDisguise · 17/06/2017 20:07

Hahaha no way Tony dyes it... it gleams so lustrously and agelessly. Grin

Reasier good on you- running in the heat is the worst.

Theromanempire · 17/06/2017 21:28

Well I survived Wink first half is great and then the second half descends into burger hell again! However, I managed it using a chair for the burpees so it was ok.

However I feel bad for that girl I mentioned earlier who clearly struggles...at the end of this, she is in tears about it and Shaun T gives her a huge motivational speech about doing the best you can etc.

I did Insane Abs yesterday - that is great. Really good combination of abs work Smile

reastie well done on your exercise. So glad you are back and hope you are taking it easy Wink

I haven't done any of Tony's workouts but not sure ageing is optional Grin

Purpleraindeer · 17/06/2017 21:38

Good work outs all - despite the heat we all worked out Star all round! I wasn't going to bother, but then looked on hear and you all had posted so I thought I'd better get on it and did max out strength.

Am intrigued by speed 4.0. I was Grin at burger hell!

Of course Tony h dyes his hair. It's pitch black and he says he's 55. Why does no-one allow themselves to go grey anymore? I'm definitely greying and really can't handle dyeing my hair so I'm going to buck the trend.

Theromanempire · 17/06/2017 21:41

purple whoops - funny autocorrect though Blush I assure you there are no burgers in it Grin

RiversDisguise · 17/06/2017 22:11

I'll just leave this here....

Speed 4.0 looks terrifying. Is the second half just nonstop burped combos?!

Beach body thread 5 (insanity, T25, P90X et al)
Theromanempire · 17/06/2017 22:21

river of you've done either speed 2.0 or 3.0, the format is the same so 2 sets of 8 different exercises. In the second half of 4.0, 6 out of the 8 exercises involve some form of burpee Hmm as I only do 6 burpee maximum, using the chair really has made it manageable for me - it is a revelation!

yumyumpoppycat · 18/06/2017 00:28

No way! TH has his own shampoo!! I wonder if he dyes his facial hair - his look must be pretty high maintenance. He needs to follow Tom Jone's example. Hopefully I will have weaned myself off the hair dye by 50s.

Purple well done working out when you didn't want to.

Roman Speed 4.0 sounds like a nightmare ...{adds to workout wish list} I would be scared of doing burpees with a chair but might give it a go because I start to feel them in my back sometimes.

Reastie · 18/06/2017 06:18

I just looked up and tony Horton is 59 next month Shock . So then I googled the age of some of the other bb people. Charlene is 48, sagi 45, shaun t 39 (according to google). I actually thought shaun t was a bit older than that! Autumn is 37.

I've started dying my hair this year the grey is getting too much for me and in the past couple of months I've plucked out a giant long granny style thick grey hair ON MY NECK and found a grey hair, ahem, down there I didn't even know you went grey there, and I can't get that area tended to by the hairdresser.

Well done everyone for workouts in the heat. Speed 4 sounds hard! Is the actual pace even quicker than speed 3 thermo or is it just the moves are harder in combination? I can't imagine managing to go any quicker than speed 3!

TH shampoo is so funny, especially the tag line!

Had a terrible headache yesterday evening I think from the heat and sun in my run. Going to try to do a cycle this morning but will force myself to be gentle as I'm not built for heat.

Theromanempire · 18/06/2017 06:33

Morning Smile

Wow, Tony looks good for 59 (dye or no dye) so he is clearly doing something right Wink

yum I just make sure the chair is pushed against something solid (eh wall, windowsill) so it doesn't move.

reastie I haven't done Speed 3.0 in about 2 years due to all the burpees so not sure how it compares but I suspect it is the same pace ..I. E. Fast Grin

I am very lucky and have no grey hairs yet (I am 43). I have no idea what I'm going to do when they appear as I am not a big fan of hair dye Confused

Happy Sunday everyone Smile
