Protein cakes high protein sweet treats not sure if there was an actual cake but some nice sounding recipes in here. I had a free trial of kindle unlimited for a month so just skimmed it as had to get through as many books as possible ;) ( it is worth getting the free trial just use app on phone or pc - you can cancel before the trial ends but keep the books for the full month).

Purple and Roman your dc sounds like my dd1 - my younger dd is a lot less acrobatic though and she is usually the one who joins in with workouts thankfully! But clearly burpee rollovers are not physically impossible after all.

Know what you mean about workouts that are too hard roman, I find I work less hard with those because I am literally just watching things in amazement. Certain workouts just hit the sweet spot of being challenging but doable. Great clothing NSV by the way Smile that is the best feeling.

Core de force speed for me today, I will prob mainly do that one and the 37 min one as 47 minutes for the others feels just a bit too long on a work/school day. PS I meant to say, and pos did but have forgotten Blush, that the core de force power workout is MUCH harder than workouts 1 and 2 and I can imagine you would like that one Purple.

Reastie · 08/06/2017 11:38

Thermo that's a brill NSV. Btw you just made me try to eat my toes to see if I could do it Blush. Sitting down I could just about sort of kiss my big toe when I pulled my leg a lot it made my knee click.

Great work in these hard core workouts. I went for a run this morning and hugely disappointing. Got stitch within the first 5 minutes so pace was excruciatingly slow and had to stop to touch my toes a few times. I remember one of you suggested slowing pace and breathing hard out as my foot hit the ground but I couldn't remember whether it should be the side I've got the stitch or the side opposite. Tried both! Anyway, I persevered in my super slow pace, kept thinking I would have to give up completely, had to walk once the stitch was so bad BUT I kept going and managed 7.5 k (even though it took me about 50 minutes). It was a bad run but I feel proud I kept going and didn't turn around and go home early.

Funny as I kind of have the opposite issue with my dd. I do the DVD moves and she joins in and thinks she's doing them as good as they do in tv and thinks she's great but actually she's doing a weird modified bad form easy sort of hybrid copy of the move that looks really weird. She thinks she's doing it the best ever and is having fun so that's what matters. She also likes to take frequent water breaks Grin

Yumyum I have done the 47 minute Core De Force workout once and it was HARD! I ended up modifying most of the spikes during the last few rounds. It sounds so easy in terms of 3 minute rounds and 2 minutes of that are low-impact but it really is deceptively hard. I am generally sticking with the 26 and 37 minute ones.

I do like that description of those workouts that hit the sweet spot - totally get where you are coming from with that. Bet we all have those and they would be different. For me, it is Speed 2.0, Core Speed and 21df Plyo Fix (all cardio ones Grin) but they definitely hit that spot of being challenging but also very enjoyable (as opposed to those that are just challenging and you hate every single minute of it).

Reastie well done on the run - great will power in keeping going. In terms of stitch, I read that you should breath out every third step so you alternate the foot you are breathing out on which is supposed to help.

Anyway, DS2 may be able to eat his toes with ease but I can do the Live long and prosper hand on one hand only which freaks my DC out as they cannot do it with either hand Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 09/06/2017 16:18

I am so with you on speed 2.0 roman, and actually one of autumn's workouts on hammer and chisel!

Feeling slightly guilty as only did a 16 min workout - 22 hc special ops core. BUT it is a toughie! Also did a double yest as 22hc in the am and did a pilates class yest eve Halo

My eating was out of control yesterday - I had a caramel chaos protein bar and it was downhill from there. A bit better today, have decided to try and cut back on snacks.

Happy Friday everyone Smile

Reastie · 10/06/2017 07:46

I've never done the special Ops one, sounds hard! Has anyone seen the adverts for the new BB workout? It came up on my fb feed, I think something to do with dancing and looks very targeted at those with a lot of weight to lose or at the beginning of their fitness journey.

Well, exciting stuff here as I had acupuncture yesterday! Turns out my physio does that too. The dodgy lower back I've had for a couple of weeks she said she could acupuncture and whilst the needles were in she massaged my shoulder -double the treatment! Seemed to make an immediate difference so here's hoping. Crossing fingers for a good run today (although have woken up coming down with dds bug so maybe a cycle instead).

I used to love insanity pure cardio and combat live as well as most of the pump dvds. I love that level of hardness where you can feel challenged but achieve it (disclaimer the pure cardio I modified and took some breaks but I still felt great at the end). One day, one day I'll do it again...

Hi Reastie, is it youv2? I have recently got beachbody on demand. There is also a new one coming in July. Shift shop. Can't wait for that!
Shaun week is starting Monday on BOD. I'm so excited. I think it is a taste of his new workout coming out.
I have finished body beast and just dabbling in the workouts on BOD. I have been doing the cize workouts the next level. Some take me quite a while to get but I'm really enjoying dancing!

yumyumpoppycat · 10/06/2017 22:52

Reastie I had to Google and the new workout is on amazon too. Yiour physio sounds really good, fingers crossed you will be able to pick and choose your workouts without limitations soon.

Ooh Dissapointed I am v tempted to sign up for shaun week! Apparently there is going to be speed 4.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
30 days free too....free trial

TheBusThatCouldntSlowDown · 10/06/2017 22:53

How did your run go today Reastie ?

I've just subscribed to Beachbody on Demand and I'm going to start T25 tomorrow.

Sorry for getting your hopes up with protein powder cake, but I do have a protein bowl recipe which tastes like tirimisu if anyone is interested?

What does NSV mean up thread?

yumyumpoppycat · 10/06/2017 22:57

Good luck for tomorrow Bus, exciting starting a fresh workout -esp T25!
NSV = non scale victory - so fitting into jeans again etc, someone said I was looking slim this week (this did happen I am not sure how as my jeans were actually feeling tight!)

Reastie · 11/06/2017 14:57

Hello all.

Speed 4? Yikes, speed 3 is hard enough to keep up with!!!

Good week end this week end. Pb cycle with 16k then 9.1k run in 58 minutes this morning. Wasn't intending on doing quite that much but it's just how the route turned out. Had to take it steady as physio said when building up distance I'm not allowed to be quick and must run for the joy of running only. My glute was really hurting by the end though (where my knee injury comes from) but it's nice to feel a little physically exhausted after a workout for a change after having to be so careful and gentle so much. Having a day off tomorrow as think my body needs a rest after that.

Bus good luck with t25, it's so quick at least you know you're always less than 30 minutes from being finished! And you can modify if you need.

Disappointed what are the next level Cize workouts called? Are they harder in mental or physical power? I've quite enjoyed cize in the past for a not too strenuous workout so might try that but my dining room where I do workouts is small and I always struggle for space doing cize.

Looking forward to the Shaun t updates next week with the new workouts.

Thinking I might try a pump DVD on Thursday with my barbell and no weights on it just to start feeling like I'm doing some weights [desperate]

I should make it clear the cycle was yesterday, the run today, I didn't do them straight after each other that would've killed me

Speed 4.0 Shock god I can only imagine what hell awaits in that if it is harder than the burpee-fest of Speed 3.0!!

I am going to wait till the workouts appear on the secret site and see what you all think of them before trying any of the new ones...am looking forward to your reviews Smile I have noticed on the preview clips on FB that he has a chair modifier in this and doing burpees on a chair seems much easier (it is the getting down to the ground part that I find so hard). I have some bookshelves in my lounge so I wonder if they would work Hmm

Barre legs yesterday and just waiting for DH to come home to do Dirty 30...still motoring on. Eating hasn't been that great this weekend though Blush

Bus enjoy T25 - some of the workouts are much harder than others but as Reastie said, they are quickly over Smile

Test

Purpleraindeer · 11/06/2017 19:41

Hi all
Sorry for the cryptic message - have been trying to post but i think mobile site isn't working for me and it keeps rejecting my posts.

Anyway busy weekend of Friday fight 2 and max out strength. Having some technical issues as getting so sweaty I seem to need to wash my hair every day now which is annoying. Do you all do that? Am wondering if I was being gross not doing it now.

Well done on all the working out. Am waiting with baited breath for Shaun t week. Will deffo try if it's on the secret site. My eating has been bad this weekend too and I actually felt a bit rubbish because of it. I don't want to be that miserable killjoy who says 'no cake for me, I don't like sugar' so I guess I need probably to aim for slightly better balance of healthy and less healthy rather than being at the extreme end.

Reastie · 11/06/2017 20:01

Well done on the workouts purple. Fwiw I wash my hair every day but that's whether I workout or not as I have an itchy scalp and it looks like I have nits if I don't as I scratch so much!

Btw I am the killjoy that says 'no cake for me, I don't eat sugar' and proud Wink

OP posts:
Theromanempire · 11/06/2017 21:57

purple I never say 'no cake for me' Blush might explain why I'm a size 16 Confused

I also wash my hair everyday but it gets very greasy so I have no choice...it is nothing to do with exercise!

yumyumpoppycat · 12/06/2017 07:08

I don't wash my hair everyday Blush prob 3x a week, do shower after workouts obvs though, which is why I like to workout in the morning.

Was going to sign up for BBon demand but looks more complicated than I thought so have left it :( there are tiers of membership and you have to phone to cancel the free trial which is also for the more basic package.

yumyumpoppycat · 12/06/2017 07:10

PS I meant I like to workout in the am so I don't shower twice a day ....sometimes I wash my hair 4 x a week .....{digs smelly hole}

Theromanempire · 12/06/2017 18:21

Ooh today's workout is on the secret site already Smile

yumyumpoppycat · 12/06/2017 18:48

No way! I am not sure I use the same site - what is the workout called Roman? Flowers

Theromanempire · 12/06/2017 20:26

It's called Insane Basics Smile if you for into the Insanity community and then videos, it is at the top as they show in date order of uploading with most recent first.

Me and DH did it tonight - really enjoyed it Smile great format of 3 rounds of 4 exercises. Each round you do the 4 exercises 3 times - first time is low impact, then medium impact then high impact.

Wasn't too hard tbh but I suspect it is lulling us into a false economy Grin

Purpleraindeer · 12/06/2017 20:57

Hello!
Am super frustrated as I keep trying to post and it freezes. I feel persecuted!
Anyway - hope I didn't offend you with my no sugar comment reastie. It just reminds me of being pregnant with gestational diabetes and everyone asking why I wasn't eating particular things and it made me feel really awkward. Also I have a tendency towards getting obsessive so best for me to try to moderate rather than cut things out.

Having said all that I was at an event today and lunch was white bread sandwiches and chips - I managed to force it down! Did max cardio tonight but am sure one didn't offset the other.

Am definitely the grossest on this thread re hair wash. I used to only do it 2x per week. I've seen the error of my ways now though!

Reastie · 13/06/2017 17:37

Purple don't worry, didn't offend me at all. TBH I try not to tell people IRL about the sugar free thing as I get a bit embarrassed about it and tend to just blame gluten intolerance for no cake (which I also have).

Thermo glad you enjoyed it. I looked at it online and it looked like a good workout but too many moves I couldn't do so no point for me yet. It looked like the kind of workout that was harder than it looks iykwim.

Mini double for me today. Did turbofire hiit 20 first thing then had to go to London for a hospital appointment so did a run to the train station (its only 2k but I figure together with the hiit that makes a workout).

Af arrived today so alas no swimming for me tomorrow (can't swim on day 1 or day 2 as too heavy. According to mooncup website you can swim with it in fine but having one in the bath on a bad day has shown me this really isn't the case for me).

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 13/06/2017 20:38

Reastie even with tampons I am not sure I would want to swim on day 1 or 2 if I could avoid it. Puts me off exercise classes too. That is the best thing about home workouts.

Roman the workout sounds amazing but bit in the site I use. grrr.

Purple what happened to your hair to make you need to wash it more ...intrigued.

Core de force speed 2.0 today, quite like that one.

Reastie · 13/06/2017 20:53

Speaking of hair washing, I was talking it my hair dresser and they have a lot of customers who get a wash and blow dry every Friday for a nice do for the week end but she said many if then never wash their hair before they go again the following week. So in effect they never ever wash their own hair as it's done once a week at the hairdressers. I find this really bizarre as I can't imagine never actually washing my own hair! So don't feel bad about 2x a week purple , you're doubling the amount loads of my hairdressers clients do! Apparently they keep putting in more products and spray to make it last the week.
