Anyone fancy joining me for a quick 30 day shred before Christmas?

I've never done it before but am feeling pretty bleugh at the moment and could do with a pick-up. I think it will help me to watch what I'm eating a bit in the run-up to Christmas too.

I've no idea if I will actually manage a whole 30 days but probably more likely to if someone else is spurring me on! Anyone up for it?

I struggle with plank moves too. I find it a struggle with my puny t-Rex wrists as well as any other physical ability! The other physical abilities do come with time so that, after a good few sessions, I can manage at least some of the full moves. I aim for at least one more proper move each time before reverting to "cheating"

I don't think I ever managed plank twists though, I used to substitute bicycle crunches so at least I was doing something.

DD and I have a plan

We're on day 4 now of 30DS

we will do all levels of that then Ripped in 30 as I have them both on iTunes

Then we are going to do 6 week six pack which will take us in to early April.

DD sets her alarm each day and wakes me up at 6.20 to go down and exercise. We previously got up at 7.15 to leave the house by 8.10. I've started going to bed earlier.

I'm not so sore today and enjoying level 1. I remember level 2 being tough from the first time I did it.

BrassicaBabe · 15/12/2016 16:07

Ooh, I might tail gate on your plan Rocky. That sounds like you've both bought into the plan which is always a good start. I didn't know about Ripped in 30. And it's still 20 mins. I was thinking about going next to 6 week 6 pack....

RockyBird · 15/12/2016 19:07

I'm only doing Ripped because I've already bought it.

DD who has been very down previously and argumentative with me, said today she looks forward to getting up in the morning to do our workouts. That's all the motivation I need 👍🏻

DeliciousIrony · 15/12/2016 19:40

That sounds like a good plan Rocky, glad she's enjoying it. I have Ripped in 30 but it doesn't play on the playstation (which doubles as our DVD player) and I've never bothered trying it on my laptop. I might have a go and see if I can plug the laptop into the TV (hate working out from a computer screen).

Plank moves are definitely not my favourites either, I find them really wearing on the wrists after a while. For anyone plank-phobic...someone on another thread suggested I look at Jillian's Opus bonus workout from her Bodyshred DVD...check out the final move at 31.38. I'm not sure I could ever physically manage that!

Today I did Killer Buns and Thighs L3, plus 10 mins hooping Smile

BrassicaBabe · 15/12/2016 20:43

Fecking tech! I've just found that I can't play DVDs on my laptop without buying software now that it's Windows 10. And the TV bought earlier in the year doesn't have enough connections to connect the DVD player. Life shouldn't be this hard should it....

randomsabreuse · 15/12/2016 20:57

X-box? Or other games console? Need to find some motivation now - have realised I won't be doing any over Christmas as at IL's house

randomsabreuse · 16/12/2016 11:40

Failed yesterday but done today. Going to stalk ebay for DVDs as might be easier than relying on youtube - that advert break is well timed at the moment though and it's only 5 seconds!

BrassicaBabe · 16/12/2016 13:52

Day 23 done. Sacked off internet video and used DVD with work laptop.

Day 30 for me is xmas eve! Good timing as I've bought Ripped in 30 following Rocky's lead for post xmas.

What weights are folks using? I've got 1kg. They are too light for the squat and press slot and too short in the handle for the plank arm/leg raise one.

Curry Wednesday, but ate well yesterday so back on track. Heading into a heavy eating/drinking weekend so we'll have to see...

RockyBird · 16/12/2016 14:10

I got 6 week 6 pack (or whatever it is called) DVD for £2 on eBay.

Now is a good time to get them before the January rush

RockyBird · 16/12/2016 14:10

I've gone straight for 2.5kgs ... I have 1.5kgs but DD is using those.

BrassicaBabe · 16/12/2016 14:31

Ooh ok I need to up my game from my 1kg wimpiness!! Grin

DeliciousIrony · 16/12/2016 17:57

I think 2kgs work well for Shred Smile

Killer Abs L3 today...oof, planks galore. Feel quite a bit of tension and ache in my upper back/shoulders now so I will try and do some cardio tomorrow to give muscles a break.

RockyBird · 16/12/2016 17:59

I would be using the 1.5s if it wasn't for DD nabbing them. I'm too much of a tightwad to splash out on more Grin

If I remember rightly I used a mix when I did the higher levels last time.

randomsabreuse · 16/12/2016 19:29

I have 3 pounds so 1.3kg. I I need more I will use DH's dumbells -far too tight to buy anything else. Amazon Prime has nothing and Ebay was as expensive as Prime. Will keep an eye out and wait for mid January failed resolution Kondo type disposals!

DeliciousIrony · 18/12/2016 12:58

Did 4 circuits of Banish Fat Boost Metabolism yesterday, and then went out and ate curry and drank far too much prosecco. Slept really badly as I got two piercings in my left ear yesterday and it throbs. Now curing my hangover with Celebrations and snack a jacks. Definitely a rest day today.

BrassicaBabe · 18/12/2016 19:03

Confused I'm still rehydrating after last night's excess. Think I'll end up skipping today's efforts! Although there's time yet to sort myself out!

BrassicaBabe · 19/12/2016 18:25

Day 24 done. Didn't manage to get passed yesterday hangover until bed time Envy

DeliciousIrony · 20/12/2016 07:31

I feel your pain Brassica, nowards and upwards though! It is Christmas afterall...

Killer Arms and Back L2 yesterday, 10 mins hooping.

BrassicaBabe · 20/12/2016 19:17

About to launch into day 26 (miscounted above)

I've had a sneaky measure. No inch difference between day 10 and now!!!!Sad I've only missed 2 days since I started!

Ok. So I was an easy size 12 to start so shouldn't expect the huge differences of the 400lb person mentioned in L1 but I've been sweating for over 3 and a half weeks now.....

Onwards to xmas eve regardless for me!!

(Ripped in 30 post xmas)

BrassicaBabe · 20/12/2016 20:26

I don't indulge in carbs in the week. If anyone comes in and suggests I give up wine I'll poke you in the eye! Grin

DeliciousIrony · 20/12/2016 21:28

Ah Brassica, you have lost overall though! But I know it's shit when your body doesn't change easily...I think your fitness will have improved loads though, so definitely keep going with Ripped and try and only take measurements every 2 weeks! Definitely don't give up the wine Wink

Having said that, I plan to take measurements on Friday and if I haven't changed in the last 4 weeks I'll be pissed.

Killer Abs L2 today

MissWillaCather · 21/12/2016 17:21

after a shameful absence, am back on it! Tough courtesy of some 20 minute fat busting kickboxing dd found on YouTube.

Obviously any of my choices were wrong..!. And have forgotten my dvds..

Anyway, roll in tomorrow and good on the rest of you for keeping going.

BrassicaBabe · 21/12/2016 21:23

Yeah MissWilla thought you'd abandoned us.

Day 27 done. I'm pushing on through. Cos if I don't I'll open a family pack of crisps and won't stop til 3rd January!

DeliciousIrony · 21/12/2016 21:27

Welcome back MissWilla. I'm off for Xmas next week and don't suppose I'll be doing much exercise.

Killer Buns and Thighs L2 today, it was bloody tough going and much harder than L3.
