Anyone fancy joining me for a quick 30 day shred before Christmas?

I've never done it before but am feeling pretty bleugh at the moment and could do with a pick-up. I think it will help me to watch what I'm eating a bit in the run-up to Christmas too.

I've no idea if I will actually manage a whole 30 days but probably more likely to if someone else is spurring me on! Anyone up for it?

Like your style busy!

I've done a bit of cyber Jillian Michaels stalking. I didn't get much past Wikipedia. It went something like

Ooh, born in 1974. Nice once girl! She's only a tad younger than me.
Weight...115lb (heads off to calculator to work that out in stone) Feck!! 8 stone something?!!! I'd have to never eat again!!

SoupDragon · 07/12/2016 07:16

She's only 5'2" though. She barely comes up to Natalie's thigh.

DeliciousIrony · 07/12/2016 19:22

Jillian is tiny. I think she is also a former fat kid (like me) and doesn't enjoy exercise all that much (also like me), so there is hope for us all.

I didn't do anything yesterday, but braved Killer Arms and Back Level 3 today, based on the flimsy logic that I find Level 3 of the Shred easier than level 2...not gonna lie, it was horrendous, but I do feel very accomplished for staggering through it (and with 3kg weights for most of it).

BrassicaBabe · 07/12/2016 19:51

Heading into day 15. It's. Only. 15. Mins.

BrassicaBabe · 07/12/2016 19:51

Rats. Wishful. 20!!

randomsabreuse · 07/12/2016 20:57

Did day 4 today. Tempted to try L2 as the cardio is easy but will my arms fall off? I'm with Natalie for everything but the press ups but my upper body is so far behind my lower body and cardio - might have something to do with the 10k runs...

busyrascal · 07/12/2016 21:08

Just did day 11, first time on L2.

Urgh.

random I'm a runner too so also find my upper body lags behind. I found the arms fine on L2 though, not much harder. I think the main difference is that the strength exercises are much higher impact in L2 so I was out of breath and sweaty throughout. I barely broke a sweat in L1.

Is anyone else getting random muscle spasms in their tummy due to all the abs workouts?

I keep getting this at various times of the day (for the last three days in a row) and it feels freakily similar to the sensation of a baby kicking Confused

It would be a big surprise if I turned out to be pregnant, especially pregnant enough to be feeling kicks as I'm quite slim. It has made me wonder though... so I'm hoping someone else can reassure me that they too are having tummy muscle spasms! Or at least that it's normal!

Day 13 done, and a class yesterday.

No baby kicks here...🤔😀

DeliciousIrony · 08/12/2016 19:22

busy I haven't had tummy spasms, but did have about a week of thigh-muscle spasms after I started exercising again a few weeks ago, which was very irritating when trying to fall asleep! It should settle down before long (Unless you are actually pregnant, of course!)

Killer Buns and Thighs Level 3 today...why does it use a chair for only ONE move, so I have to pause the DVD to find a suitable dining chair and then put it away again, and repeat in the second set?

BrassicaBabe · 08/12/2016 20:43

Day 16 here. And that's real dedication as we've had our traditional xmas shopping day which involved a large meal, 2 bottles of wine between two and a huge cheese board!!

MissWillaCather · 09/12/2016 09:17

Respect, brassica😀

Day 14 done here, level 3 of the kickboxing one: I've gone rogue. Well, JM told me to!

DeliciousIrony · 09/12/2016 19:24

Killer Body (Core) today, couldn't summon the willpower to do any hula hooping though - straight in the bath and then Wine and a trashy magazine.

MissWillaCather · 09/12/2016 20:38

Who's noticed a difference then? I'm not sure, still have cosy mum tummy

busyrascal · 09/12/2016 20:45

I think I've noticed a difference although am really struggling to get off the sofa this evening to do day 12. I keep meaning to check my weight in the morning but never remember until after I've had my breakfast.

Made it off the sofa and did day 12. Level 2 is almost killing me though Sad

MissWillaCather · 09/12/2016 22:00

JM is definitely insane 😀😀

MissWillaCather · 09/12/2016 22:02

Oh, On the difference thing, I can't really tell, but DH says he can see some difference.....

randomsabreuse · 09/12/2016 22:45

Managed today then had a sneak peek at L2. I need to get more supple! Can't touch toes. Might have a try tomorrow then sneak back to L1 with tail between legs...

Was definitely thinking that Natalie and especially JM need better bras on L2 (possibly because my decent sports bra is in the wash so was struggling myself)!

busyrascal · 09/12/2016 22:50

I'm terrible at L2, especially the squat thrusts and the plank jacks. I have to stop for a breather even doing the cop-out version Blush

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 10/12/2016 08:40

Yep. Can't manage the plank jacks or thrusts. It's either a cardio move in which case I can't maintain the plank. Or it's a plank move in which case I'm too slow for it to be cardio.

But I've definitely noticed a difference. I've lost weight already this year. Bought a top in the gap sale but it looked terrible. It showed every lump and bump around my middle. It was so terrible I took a snap to send to a friend. That was on 4th Nov. I started shred on 23rd Nov. Took a pic in the same top last night (never organised enough to send it back). Huge difference. Massive. Lumps around middle not nearly so noticeable. And I weigh the same as 4th Nov too. If I could edit faces out I'd post the pics I'm so amazed.

Anyway, pleasantly surprised!Grin

MissWillaCather · 10/12/2016 10:07

Oh, that's good, scientific proof it's working.

I think the plank things are not really planks: they have their bums up, so I just go for it like cardio.

Just had a lesisurely breakfast so will shred later...
