Anyone fancy joining me for a quick 30 day shred before Christmas?

I've never done it before but am feeling pretty bleugh at the moment and could do with a pick-up. I think it will help me to watch what I'm eating a bit in the run-up to Christmas too.

I've no idea if I will actually manage a whole 30 days but probably more likely to if someone else is spurring me on! Anyone up for it?

L2 done, mostly! Biggest step up is co-ordination and suppleness proving beyond all doubt that I will never ever do a real class with other people! I can just laugh when I go wrong if it's just DH, DD and dog watching me but couldn't deal with a real class if something like skaters were in it, or actually any of the plank based moves!

Will keep going on L2 as I did need the challenge!

randomsabreuse · 10/12/2016 10:39

Can't do squat thrusts without bum coming up - maybe plank just means arm width?

DeliciousIrony · 10/12/2016 11:26

I am hopelessly clumsy with the skaters - with the squat thrusts, I just take the 'plank' description to mean arms under shoulders, and it feels like bloody hard work anyway so it must do something.

My DP told me last week that he thinks I have lost weight and sides feel firmer, but I am waiting to take measurements just before Christmas to see if I have changed at all in the last month.

I'm trying to work up the motivation to do something today, but so comfy on the sofa at the moment...

MissWillaCather · 10/12/2016 11:57

Day 15 here.

Glad it's not just me with the plank thing.

DeliciousIrony · 10/12/2016 14:22

I almost wimped out and made today an unscheduled rest day, but then found some motivation and did Shred it with Weights L1, and 20 mins on the hula hoop. Challenging, but not a plank in sight!

BrassicaBabe · 12/12/2016 14:07

Rats. I missed yesterday. Put it off when I had time then later ran out of time!

So today was day 19. Onwards.

Anyone found L3 on YouTube? I can't find it. Ta

Someone linked to it further up the thread. Hang on...

Level 3

RockyBird · 12/12/2016 14:27

I started today. My 12 year old DD wanted to do it so we got up half hour earlier today and did it together.

It's a few years since I did both shred and ripped. DD has never done anything like this before.

MissWillaCather · 12/12/2016 15:50

Well I've kind of done day 16, couldn't make DVD player work. Somahd quick search on yiutube and ended up doing yoga meltdown. For 26 minutes til the connection went...!

MissWillaCather · 12/12/2016 15:51

Oh, and hello rocky - my dd refuses to do it whilst telling me I'm doing it wrong and need to make more effort!

randomsabreuse · 12/12/2016 18:15

Also missed yesterday - was scurrying after a toddler without reins so up and down stairs and ramps bent double wearing smart shoes meant I was a bit of a wreck. Will definitely do it tonight.

RockyBird · 12/12/2016 18:16

Hey Smile

Mine has poor body image which is ridiculous at 12 is shy and not confident. I thought a bit of exercise each day would do us both good. She's stunningly beautiful, has thick glossy hair, most definitely not fat...she and all her friends think they're "huge"...but that's a whole other thread Sad. She has a main role in a pantomime at the moment which she is fabulous in. I wish she'd realise how amazing she is.

I just want her to have a boost and Jillian is really positive.

BrassicaBabe · 12/12/2016 20:55

Thanks busy. Both helpful and v scared! Grin

My DD is 5.6. I'm scared to be a mum of a teen/pre-teen. Hats off and Wine to you guys.

DeliciousIrony · 12/12/2016 21:01

Hi Rocky [smile} It's rubbish to be 12, I agree that Jillian is quite positive, and it's an emphasis on fit and strong rather than just thin, good luck to you both.

Today I had a stab at Yoga Inferno level 2 for the first time...and it was (amazingly) a bit too gentle, I found level 1 much more challenging (but I suppose I could always up the weights...). So I added on some cardio from Jillian's 10 minute Transformations, and a bit of hula hooping.

busyrascal · 12/12/2016 21:08

I feel like I have well and truly fallen off the wagon :(

I'm sat on the sofa, beer in hand, drowning in end-of-term marking. Off to a funeral at the other end of the country at the end of the week too so no chance of catching up any time soon.

My 4yo has been inspired to take up 'exercise' as a result of this though. I've found some kid-friendly workouts on you tube and she looks so sweet trying to copy the moves :)

OP posts:
MissWillaCather · 12/12/2016 22:38

I won't get a chance to do any more til next week either, one piyo class and rest is work/hair/holidays!!

Going to keep it up next week though...keep going everyone

RockyBird · 13/12/2016 12:11

ARgh we slept in this morning. I said to DD we'd do ours after school. I did it after the school run so if DD is still in the mood after school I'll be doing it again. My body is in pain from yesterday but loosened off when I did the workout.

BrassicaBabe · 13/12/2016 20:08

Day 20 done.

Tomorrow day 21, L3 and measure up.

I've been quite good diet wise today. Then gone and eaten a packet of crisps, peanut butter roll and started on the wine in lieu of dinner!

RockyBird · 13/12/2016 22:42

My whole body is in lactic acid pain Xmas Confused

BrassicaBabe · 14/12/2016 14:36

First L3 done. It was tough but would be harder if I could actually do some of the moves if that makes sense Hmm

No weight or inch change between L2 and L3 Sad. Let's hope that changes in the next 10 days. But then....out for a work curry tonight, another xmas meal Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

randomsabreuse · 14/12/2016 14:48

Finally did 2nd attempt at L2 today. Definitely tougher as I had less time going "how do I do that" and watching rather than doing. I can do skaters but I am not sure I should anywhere people might be. My arms are still weak and pathetic for palm down stuff and really struggling with the stand on one foot malarkey. Hopefully it will get better before I move on to L3.

Does anyone else get an advert toght before the 3rd circuit? So tempting to not bother to locate the remote to skip after 5 seconds...

DeliciousIrony · 14/12/2016 18:45

Rocky The lactic acid pain is the worst, I'm no fan of running but I did find that going for a gentleish run helped me last time.

Which moves are you struggling with Brassica?

I had a rest day yesterday, and Killer Arms and Back L3 today. I was pleased that I didn't find it quite as painful as I did last week. Only 5 or 6 more workouts to go before Xmas Wine

BrassicaBabe · 15/12/2016 01:27

Im struggling with anything plank, plank like or plank esque Delicious Grin

Random give it a few days and you'll have the standing on one foot action sorted. Honest!

The L3 video stops and starts. Did anyone else find that? I'm going to have to crack the DVD I actually bought out of the wrapper using my laptop instead of working via the internet on the telly
