Crossing the bridge from 5 to 10K

For C25K graduates who are taking the next step!

W10R1 this morning, 3x15min runs with minute walks in between. I wasn't at all sure I was going to finish but I did, checked MapMyRun & saw I'd done 6.3K.

Hadn't realised I could run that far!

My first 9kGrin nonstop in 58mins Grin Grin I was SO inthe zone tonight Smile my knee started to hurt abit which I've never had before so I stopped rather push on to 10k. But super happy with that. Those 5k stamina sessions have really helped me. I think I'm going to do one of those each week and one longer run.

I'm in awe of a family member who is running the VLM on Sunday though and SIL who did it last year, running for 5hrs must be SO hard! We will be tracking on the app on Sunday.

I'm going to watch it so I'll be cheering your family member as they go past Grin. It's nice & (relatively) quiet on our bit, you can stand with a coffee & get a good view.

Must be fab atmosphere it's just a shame we can't get up there to cheer her on and back again in time for school etc on Monday.

Has anyone tried running compression socks? I bought some and I'm trying them out on my recovery tonight Smile I was gonna wear them to run but my DD said I looked bit odd Smile code for What Have You Got On Mummy! (They r bright pinkGrin)

Not yet ski but if I go longer runs I'm going to invest. Well done on your 9k too.

No parkrun today as I'm A. Hungover and B. Off to see a pal. Hoping to do a longish run tomorrow and got interval training on Monday night.

Feels abit pathetic when there's going to be people doing a MARATHON sand it's london M today amazing amazing things going on . I am looking forward to it hoping the butterflies will make me run faster currently forcing down porridge with banana and honey ! Will fill u in later x

Haha everyone says that but I don't think I want to go any further (have shitty injuries from an accident) so I think i would just like to continue with getting 5 and 10ks down to a fab time under an hour for 10k eventually if i can

I didn't really want to go but just made myself do 5k run & 2k walk warm up/down. Feel better for it but bit Hmm that my left knee has started to twinge for first time. So may have to ease back again for a week. I was running uphill abit which it doesn't like. But got to try out my new asda running top Smile which was ok and matches my turquoise trainers Grin
