For C25K graduates who are taking the next step!

W10R1 this morning, 3x15min runs with minute walks in between. I wasn't at all sure I was going to finish but I did, checked MapMyRun & saw I'd done 6.3K.

Hadn't realised I could run that far!

Ahhh I know what u mean the week before I had done 4K and was running past my house could of done a further loop of about 3k but I was rushing out somewhere but it was feeling so easy grr it always happens like that :)

littlemissM92 · 06/03/2017 16:24

I have a 17.3hh horse too so he takes abit of handling and fitness think that helps x

shortaris1 · 07/03/2017 07:43

That's great little miss Another 3 x 15 minute session tomorrow for me.

Last nights was great and I went further than ever!

SkiBike007 · 07/03/2017 20:26

Walked another 7k today hoping this will keep some of my fitness ticking over whilst I fight off this virus.

Well done those running it can't be easy in this wet n windy weather as it's been pretty grim ere today in the SW!

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 09/03/2017 07:50

Beautiful day today in London!

Got my split record down to 5:32, but I've got to get better at pacing. At the moment the first k is the fast one & then I'm whacked by the end.

Sorry you're still feeling rough, Bike.

Miss, like Bike said, your stamina's amazing! I'm doing 15K a week max because my knees can't handle any more than that. What are you running the 10Ks in aid of?

shortaris1 · 09/03/2017 07:52

It was a bit chilly ski but I went further last night 3 x 17 minutes.

W11R1 on my 10k trainer. Started at WK 9 after doing 5k so 3 weeks into this one. Loving it.

littlemissM92 · 09/03/2017 08:07

I don't always run all of it sometimes have to stop twice for about 60-90 seconds to recharge ! British heart foundation and sue Ryder x

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 09/03/2017 18:24

Great charities. I did a hilly 10K last weekend that turned into running the flat bits and walking the steep bits Grin.

Sounds like it's going great, shortaris. I went back to my early posts on the C25K thread the other day and thought wow...

SkiBike007 · 09/03/2017 21:32

I was in London this morn empress wishing I'd taken my running kit away with me as it was perfect for running. Instead I had a 7am walk through Regent's Park Smile before a busy day. Hope to get a run in tom eve after work.

Your doing really well shortaris.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 09/03/2017 21:36

Love the parks in the early mornings, Bike! Do you come to London much?

SkiBike007 · 09/03/2017 21:40

No not if I can help it! It's usually just long day trips for meetings but this was an overnight and I woke early so decided to go walking Grin. I was missing my quiet SW air.

SkiBike007 · 09/03/2017 21:43

I don't know how people work and live in London it's just too flipping noisy for me now Grin despite growing up in a London surburb...I'm in awe of people doing it daily for work.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 09/03/2017 21:50

Grin But it does have bloody good running routes.

SkiBike007 · 10/03/2017 17:42

Depends on the view Grin I watched two older ladies in bright swim hats walk straight into the sea at 7am this morning for a swift swim brrr rather them than me! But I admired their spunk! Alas my run just didn't "happen" this morn I tried but gave up after 2km was just too tired, but it was gd to get some sea air before a busy day. I will try again sat.

littlemissM92 · 12/03/2017 09:34

Cheeky 6.2k this morn x

shortaris1 · 12/03/2017 11:36

Well done Littlemiss. I did 4.3 miles according to my 10k trainer app but only 3.9 according to Run keeper. Which should I go with. Is there a way to check mileage on routes? I'm just starting with all this as have just been using my couch to 5 and 10k apps until now.

I've been weight lifting 3 times a week as well as running and doing a class, usually body attack too and Im really seeing a difference in my shape.

littlemissM92 · 12/03/2017 13:02

Shortaris1 sorry I have no idea id go with the longer one ha I use endomondo app x

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 12/03/2017 19:49

Wow shortaris, you're working seriously hard on this! No running this weekend but I want to get a couple of short ones in this week and try for an 11k next weekend. Just so I know I can.

shortaris1 · 12/03/2017 21:31

Good for you Empress that's an amazing goal.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 13/03/2017 09:31

Thanks shortaris, I'm just as amazed at how much you're doing! Not surprised you're seeing a difference.

SkiBike007 · 13/03/2017 14:23

Some great running happening. I didn't run over the weekend but did go for great bike ride today ....well it was lovely until I crashed off avoiding a flipping dog off lead grrr it's a fab purpose built cycle path I get SO annoyed with inconsiderate dog owners Angry I had slowed right down to go around them and he jumped out.. my chain came off and I felt rather shaken up but hopefully no major damage as I crashed into an earth bank. Hohum that has dented my cycling confidence again so maybe I will be backing running again tom if I can squeeze it in Smile 5 sleeps till we go skiing Grin hoping my boosted winter running fitness will help me cruise the slopes chasing after my Oldest DD no doubt!

SkiBike007 · 15/03/2017 20:05

Yah Grin Smile getting my running mojo back did a non-stop 5k tonight just under 33mins was pleased with that after a really crap few weeks of illness I finally feeling on the mend. I made myself not walk and was clocking 6min30sec km splits all the way Smile and running just in tshirt & 2/3legs was warm!

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 15/03/2017 20:35

Fabulous Bike! Must have felt great to get running again!

SkiBike007 · 15/03/2017 20:54

Thanks empress Grin it's a nice buzz again. How's your running going? When is your 10k charity run?

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 15/03/2017 21:30

End of May. I've got my 5K down to 34 mins now with a 5:30 max split and I'm going to do a long one this weekend.

There are a few of us in my team at work who run, it's great sharing tips & experiences in the office. Although I think we might be driving the non-runners a bit nuts Grin.
