Crossing the bridge from 5 to 10K

For C25K graduates who are taking the next step!

W10R1 this morning, 3x15min runs with minute walks in between. I wasn't at all sure I was going to finish but I did, checked MapMyRun & saw I'd done 6.3K.

Hadn't realised I could run that far!

Ahhh I know what u mean the week before I had done 4K and was running past my house could of done a further loop of about 3k but I was rushing out somewhere but it was feeling so easy grr it always happens like that :)

I have a 17.3hh horse too so he takes abit of handling and fitness think that helps x

Walked another 7k today hoping this will keep some of my fitness ticking over whilst I fight off this virus.

Well done those running it can't be easy in this wet n windy weather as it's been pretty grim ere today in the SW!

Beautiful day today in London!

Got my split record down to 5:32, but I've got to get better at pacing. At the moment the first k is the fast one & then I'm whacked by the end.

Sorry you're still feeling rough, Bike.

Miss, like Bike said, your stamina's amazing! I'm doing 15K a week max because my knees can't handle any more than that. What are you running the 10Ks in aid of?

It was a bit chilly ski but I went further last night 3 x 17 minutes.

W11R1 on my 10k trainer. Started at WK 9 after doing 5k so 3 weeks into this one. Loving it.

I don't always run all of it sometimes have to stop twice for about 60-90 seconds to recharge ! British heart foundation and sue Ryder x

Great charities. I did a hilly 10K last weekend that turned into running the flat bits and walking the steep bits Grin.

Sounds like it's going great, shortaris. I went back to my early posts on the C25K thread the other day and thought wow...

I was in London this morn empress wishing I'd taken my running kit away with me as it was perfect for running. Instead I had a 7am walk through Regent's Park Smile before a busy day. Hope to get a run in tom eve after work.

No not if I can help it! It's usually just long day trips for meetings but this was an overnight and I woke early so decided to go walking Grin. I was missing my quiet SW air.

I don't know how people work and live in London it's just too flipping noisy for me now Grin despite growing up in a London surburb...I'm in awe of people doing it daily for work.

Depends on the view Grin I watched two older ladies in bright swim hats walk straight into the sea at 7am this morning for a swift swim brrr rather them than me! But I admired their spunk! Alas my run just didn't "happen" this morn I tried but gave up after 2km was just too tired, but it was gd to get some sea air before a busy day. I will try again sat.

Well done Littlemiss. I did 4.3 miles according to my 10k trainer app but only 3.9 according to Run keeper. Which should I go with. Is there a way to check mileage on routes? I'm just starting with all this as have just been using my couch to 5 and 10k apps until now.

I've been weight lifting 3 times a week as well as running and doing a class, usually body attack too and Im really seeing a difference in my shape.

Wow shortaris, you're working seriously hard on this! No running this weekend but I want to get a couple of short ones in this week and try for an 11k next weekend. Just so I know I can.

Some great running happening. I didn't run over the weekend but did go for great bike ride today ....well it was lovely until I crashed off avoiding a flipping dog off lead grrr it's a fab purpose built cycle path I get SO annoyed with inconsiderate dog owners Angry I had slowed right down to go around them and he jumped out.. my chain came off and I felt rather shaken up but hopefully no major damage as I crashed into an earth bank. Hohum that has dented my cycling confidence again so maybe I will be backing running again tom if I can squeeze it in Smile 5 sleeps till we go skiing Grin hoping my boosted winter running fitness will help me cruise the slopes chasing after my Oldest DD no doubt!

Yah Grin Smile getting my running mojo back did a non-stop 5k tonight just under 33mins was pleased with that after a really crap few weeks of illness I finally feeling on the mend. I made myself not walk and was clocking 6min30sec km splits all the way Smile and running just in tshirt & 2/3legs was warm!

End of May. I've got my 5K down to 34 mins now with a 5:30 max split and I'm going to do a long one this weekend.

There are a few of us in my team at work who run, it's great sharing tips & experiences in the office. Although I think we might be driving the non-runners a bit nuts Grin.
