Apologies for not reading back, busy few days at work and home.

I'll add runs later as hoping to go tonight.

Just ordered a Garmin 235, which I am quite excited about. I had a 310 and 410 but sold them when out of running for so long!

Needastrongone · 02/11/2016 22:17

I have 15 easy miles to add.

32.9

karatekimmi · 03/11/2016 05:56

43.2 with my 10.3 miles!!

I'm on Garmin and in a few groups (my running club and parkrun) I just use it to record my runs and miles for the year. It gets too much as my running club is very active on Facebook and now people comment on your runs, and strava runs are posted on Facebook and kudos given and likes given!!! It does all get a bit much!! I do t really keep track of people on strava.

I'd go for a "I need a sub 30 parkrun today" comment in the car and just see how it goes!! I can't even get my DH to run with me (and the kiddies) so I wouldn't expect other people to!!

emummy · 03/11/2016 10:57

Fast (for me!) and tricky forest run, more cross country practice. Cold & wet, not a nice day but happy with the run.

46.2

cinnamongreyhound · 03/11/2016 18:25

I'm missing a head torch spooky run with cake after with my club as I'm working late, boo but had a good run this morning, 3/4 was in the light and there was a beautiful frost! 50.2

Thanks for the parkrun advise, I'm at my PIL this weekend then away the week after so have a few weeks to brave it....

6 from Tuesday then a very steady 6.3 today as I gave blood yesterday

62.5

Anglaise1 · 04/11/2016 06:49

Last do your own thing on park runs and any other races. I like running with other people but in races tend to do my own thing, unless I have a 'hare' to help me do a time or I'm a 'hare' for someone else to help them do a time.
I'm very sad because my best running buddy (I did my marathons and all the training with her) had a stroke on Sunday whilst jogging on the beach - it was a minor stroke due to blood pressure, but it shows it can happen to anyone, she is only 54 and very healthy in every respect. She won't be able to race again and even running might not be possible.
53 miles to add - had a few days holiday in the UK so only one little run in the fog, back in France now running in the rain today.
Keyser my friend won the women's category Hospitaliers 30k (Nant, South of France) trail race - really proud of her as she was injured a few weeks ago.
28 to add to October so 880.7
25 to add for November

87.5

emummy · 04/11/2016 10:33

That's a real shame about your friend Anglaise. I hope she recovers well. It's always a shock when something like that happens to someone who is apparently fit and healthy.

Beautiful day for running here, cold and sunny. Did lovely recovery run along the river, really relaxing - much needed after running club with a bunch of 8 year olds!

As a new runner, i''d like to say lastqueen that I wouldn't be remotely offended if the other person ran their own faster speed, and would be very happy with the idea that we had a coffe afterwards (which I'd pay for, if the other person was driving me).

Question about park runs - is it naff (or even permitted) to do them with headphones in? I usually run to music, and can't quite imagine doing without.

Sorry to hear about your friend anglaise and I hope her recovery goes well.

Since I last posted I've continued to run about 3-4 miles, 3-4 times a week:

6.15 for October - 886.85

7.38 for November - 98.68

cinnamongreyhound · 04/11/2016 17:09

Sorry to hear about your friend Angalise1, that's sad and pretty scary Sad

Lots have headphones at my parkrun AuntieStella, it's allowed but give it a try without. I started training without music when I did my first hm and wasn't allowed them and now unless I'm mad I do t use music at all, especially at parkrun as it's so friendly and lovely Grin

Anglaise Sorry about your friend's stroke. I hope she makes a good recovery. I remember my old boss having one when he was about 47- he woke up one morning completely blind. Fortunately his vision did come back but I can only imagine how terrified he must have been. Well done to your other friend on her trail race win.

Auntie I do use headphones on the odd occasion I've done Parkrun but it's along the seafront so very wide path and easy to overtake. My only hesitation in using them would be on a lap course if you think the faster runners might lap you and therefore need to overtake. Can be frustrating when people don't hear you because they're tuned into Nicki Minaj instead Grin

Adding 12.3 from a lovely relaxed trail run this morning.

standingonlego · 05/11/2016 18:10

Half marathon only a week away so have been putting in the miles but not been on thread to add.
October - 52.3 to add 939.15

Today Parkrun plus extra miles after 7.5

118.5

emummy · 06/11/2016 10:33

Easy run in the sunshine & showers, felt a bit slow & heavy, but never mind!

124.7

cinnamongreyhound · 06/11/2016 12:27

Fantabulous 4 miles on my own with little dog today, got rained on, really windy but I had the strength to go on my own (haven't felt able to for ages), I lost loads of chunks of the run while being in my own head sorting everything and I felt good, every mile sub 10mins which is quick for me at the moment!

Pants emummy but you went and did it Grin

Good luck next week standingonlego!

cinnamongreyhound · 08/11/2016 19:52

Well done Sirzy!

Dark and 2C run but very enjoyable and chatty today. Looks like I'm going to get wet tomorrow walking the dogs, walking to school, going back to school and walking the dogs again but no running tomorrow. 163.4

Anglaise1 · 10/11/2016 06:45

Congratulations on your pb 10k Sirzy! 23,5 to add from the weekend, unfortunately I'm injured [again] - old knee meniscus problem, it suddenly started hurting at the end of Monday's run. Dr mentioned arthroscopic knee surgery but I've heard so many bad stories about it!
185.9

cinnamongreyhound · 10/11/2016 09:43

Sorry to hear you're injured Anglaise1!! A friends husband has had both done twice, one is like new and the other isn't any worse than it was but not much better either.

Usual Thursday morning run for me this morning, light frost today and last mile in daylight Smile 189.9

OP posts:
emummy · 10/11/2016 10:07

Brisk run in the rain, short fast one to prepare for cross country, managed 8:30 minute miles for first time ever!
sorry to hear about your knee Anglaise. I hope you get it sorted.

lastqueenofscotland · 10/11/2016 22:18

5.5 and 6.7 to add

I have hurt my knees but I am somewhere that's beautiful this weekend and has a beaut parkrun, icing like mad!

204.2

KeyserSophie · 11/11/2016 07:44

oh no- sorry to hear about the injuries.

I have been unbelievably lazy this week- basically using the election as an excuse to lurk in bars. Just 4.5 to add from a gym commute. I'm going to have to run my arse off this weekend to hit my 40k target
