Trail shoes - I have Brooke cascadia 10s, they are great. I have a moulded insoles which I switch between these and my road shoes. Give me a little extra support as o overpronate. I think most trail shoes are neutral?

I need. Head torch too....

lastqueenofscotland · 10/10/2016 20:34

Post has arrived but at my parents house and they didn't open it before going out for dinner Angry

Nice brisk run in the forest. Had been raining over night so it all smelled lovely and fresh. Still no mail!

lastqueenofscotland · 11/10/2016 21:51

Got my rejection through!

5.6 intervals and jog home
317.5

emummy · 11/10/2016 22:05

Sorry lastqueen. Will you enter something else? Feel a bit guilty getting in. Still in shock. Dh has used some points to get me a flight, now hotel needed. Will have to go myself, should be interesting!

KeyserSophie · 12/10/2016 00:07

Lastqueen Could you get a charity place? You normally have to raise about £1500 but if your workplace does matching it may be feasible, depending how rich generous your colleagues are. The ballot is ridiculous now- I think it's like a 5% chance so you'll be in good company.

emummy Go on booking.com but be quick. A trick for future years is just to book it before the ballot comes out and and then cancel if you don't get in.

Sirzy · 12/10/2016 06:31

Couple of runs to add so 11.5 miles in total

329

emummy · 12/10/2016 11:12

Thanks keyser, currently trying to use dh's hilton points for a free room, they are being a bit slow!

emummy · 12/10/2016 16:05

Hotel booked! Hurray for reward points

cinnamongreyhound · 12/10/2016 19:15

Congrats on getting in emummy, I know one club member who has a place and one parkrunner.

Everyone bailed on me last night and I was too tired to go on my own in the dark so I made arrangements for this morning. 333

There was an event in the place I run usually last weekend, so I ran loops around it, and ended up covering a far longer distance than I'd expected. And had a lovely zingy feeling in my legs for the rest if the day.

And have done couple of 5k runs on weekdays - I usually go first thing after the DC have left for school - but it's felt quite tough going this week. Even with some new songs on the playlist.

342.5

AuntieStella · 12/10/2016 19:37

Oh crap, sorry. Added on to total given by Sirzy not Cinnamon

Should be

346.5

HushisLush · 12/10/2016 22:14

Namechanged. Smile

A good 6 miles with the club tonight, including a Hill of Doom!

No one at all got into London from the club, so places are indeed scare. Well done Emummy!

352.5

emummy · 13/10/2016 11:40

Thank you!
Nice hilly forest run this morning, just missed the rain. Managed to push the pace a bit, though not up the hills!
Thinking of going into Aberdeen for a park run on Saturday, there's an off road one, would be good practice for cross country

356.5

cinnamongreyhound · 13/10/2016 13:36

Usual Thursday morning run for me with only one dog as the big one hurt his foot yesterday 360.5

370.80

stilllearnin · 13/10/2016 21:42

Hello 4.1 today. I fancy a bit tomorrow and then I will leave it until the HM on Sunday - my first and I am a bit nervous but feeling a bit better after a gee-up on the HM thread.

374.9

Anglaise1 · 14/10/2016 09:28

Sad Lush and Smile emummy for the VLM, its a shame its so hard to get into. I daren't even try living abroad. Would love to do Berlin next but you can only go with a tour operator now so it makes it beyond my price range.
31 miles to add from Monday.
405.9

stilllearnin · 14/10/2016 14:23

Hi, I have a question. I am doing this HM on Sunday and the weather looks a bit changeable - anything from light rain showers to thunderstorms. I am not bothered about a bit of rain and I was just going to wear the usual short sleeved top and tights, but if it is likely to be more persistent is there any gear I should take with me. I am thinking about maybe a cap or some such to keep the worst of it off? Any ideas?

emummy · 14/10/2016 15:19

I always wear a cap on rainy days, to keep the rain off my glasses! It always feels a little more comfortable too, not a big fan of the feeling of rain falling on my head!
