Congratulations on your podium keyser

Anglaise I hope the rest sorts things out as swiftly as possible for you.

2 miles of intervals and a 10k from me... 137.9

cinnamongreyhound · 05/09/2016 22:57

Well done Sirzy and keysersophie.

Sorry your still in pain anglaise1, really hope someone can sort it for you soon!

Wow over 100 in the first 5 days, fab! My first contribution for the month was a run wth my neighbour 141.2

Hot & sunny today. Took dog for a walk before breakfast as she doesn't enjoy running in the heat, then went for run myself. Steady run in the woods, managed better on the hills today which was a confidence boost after a series of not so good runs.

3.8 miles for me this morning. Very much needed to destress me after reading the draft EHCP - worked though and now I am ready to take on the world!

I'm sorry everyone, I haven't been doing a lot of running because I have trochanteric bursitis which tends to flare up after I walk a lot, which I have been doing all weekend (about 15km a day). I'm aiming to get back on it soon, but I haven't just stopped for no reason. I hope you feel better soon, Anglaise

cinnamongreyhound · 06/09/2016 22:10

Finally managed to persuade my neighbour to increase her distance and join some of my other running buddies and she did 4 miles tonight, yay! 156.1

Thanks everyone...started physio this evening, I've pulled a hamstring quite badly according to him, but it isn't torn, so hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be able to run again. It is my fault for doing a relay race 4km fast in very hot weather Saturday then the HM Sunday. At 50 I should know better Blush - my club coach was very unforgiving this evening when I saw him!

lastqueenofscotland · 06/09/2016 22:23

Get well soon Anglaise!
6 to add inc a very fast 5 k in the middle

KeyserSophie · 07/09/2016 02:43

Yes, sorry to hear you're having problems Anglaise and glad you got a diagnosis from the physio. If I'm honest, the "toxins" thing sounds pretty unlikely and I think that theory, which has made detox people a tonne of money, has been widely discredited, in that your body just flushes out unwanted substances effectively on its own (unlesss you liver is packing up....)

Just 5 to add. Should have gone to track. Didnt, but did coax myself out for a solo run, so better than nothing

devilinmyshoes · 07/09/2016 07:53

Hope the rest helps Anglaise

stilllearnin · 07/09/2016 12:19

Quick and sticky 2.5 from me today. Got back and stripped off. I need to get back to work but a very quick roll call:

cinners well done on persuading your neighbour - seems to me that so much running is done in the head.
keyser great result - and what was it you had a few weeks back - lazy arse? or something! tish...
Anglaise ouch! But rest up and it sounds like you will be on the road to recovery. I cannot believe really how injury is actually a big part of running (note to self to try to get back on strengthening exercises to protect myself).
sirzy i think you need a EHCP to go with the EHCP iyswim! (not meaning to make light - hope you are ok).
cecile is that a knee thing? Stay on the thread though
devil have I missed your longest race - when is/ was it?
everyone else looking fab!

Nice of you to ask 😊 I can't remember but might have been talking about longest training run, which is 18 miles and I'm hovering close to it. Marathon is in November but in a warmer place (it was 26c last year which is optimal for me, although I only did 10k of the route then! Hoping for the entire thing this year)

CeciledeVolanges · 07/09/2016 18:49

still it is a hip thing which I have had since birth, basically it just isn't the right shape and some situations it rubs together and it swells up and makes a bursitis, basically an inflamed joint. This is how I understand it, anyway. I'm going to try a gentle jog very soon because I hate being immobile.

CeciledeVolanges · 07/09/2016 19:39

Devil good luck for the marathon! Where was the previous one? I hate running in the heat, always go for early morning or late evening when I can. So hats off to you :)

devilinmyshoes · 07/09/2016 20:49

Valencia, thank you 😊 well I've never run a marathon before in any temperature so it remains to be seen how well it really suits me! Hope the hip improves Flowers

I've got 6 from our club trail thing in which my team got pretty catastrophically lost plus 2 to make:

175.6

karatekimmi · 08/09/2016 05:07

I managed 10 last night at club, not sure it was the wisest move before a half marathon at the weekend, but never mind!!

*185.6+

devilinmyshoes · 08/09/2016 08:06

😃 are you doing the GNR kimmi? I've got a nice forest HM on Saturday which I'm really looking forward to

cinnamongreyhound · 08/09/2016 11:51

Get better soon Anglaise1!

And hope yours eases too CeciledeVolanges!

4 miles this morning, gorgeously cool but it's not really light at 6am anymore Sad 179.6

emummy · 08/09/2016 11:52

Tried a new route today, was getting a bit fed up! So it was lovely, through thick forest, didn't meet another soul, pretty hilly - just perfect! Will be going there again. Especially enjoyed the huge steep downhill in the last mile!

193.3

cinnamongreyhound · 08/09/2016 11:58

Oh no I missed karatekimmi's post, page hasn't refreshed. So guessing x posts with emummy so will add my 4 miles to her post 197.3

OP posts:
CeciledeVolanges · 08/09/2016 17:27

But Cinnamon you can see a glorious sunrise :) I tried a 2 mile jog last night and it was a bit achy but not too bad. I realised when I got home that I hadn't taken my hair down from work and had run round the block with a bun and a fancy hair clip.

What are the rules on run/walk intervals and recording distance, for future reference?

stilllearnin · 09/09/2016 12:26

Hi a quicker 4 miles from me - to pick up a card for a new and chubby baby (not mine!!)

201.3

cinnamongreyhound · 09/09/2016 16:36

But CeciledeVolanges it means very soon the whole run will be in the dark Sad

Ahhhhh babies stilllearnin, I don't think mine counts as a baby anymore SadSadSad

Ran with my neighbour last night a bit late and finished with our phone torches Hmm 204.6

OP posts:
devilinmyshoes · 10/09/2016 15:04

V enjoyable HM in the forest (actually it was very open, different course from whenever I last did it) nobody's going to demand a dope test based on my finish time but I'm pleased with myself!
