That's great devil, glad you had a good race.

stilllearnin · 11/09/2016 11:03

8.5 today and a bit disappointed as poo issues and no sleep made me head home at that stage. Feeling a bit blue eventhough I shouldn't. A HM in the forest sounds ideal. I think I have around 5 weeks til the GBR. So if you don't see me posting give me a kick please.

226.3 i think?

NattyGolfJerkin · 11/09/2016 11:56

Hi all. Long time, no post. I have been running, I've just not been posting about it. I had an amazing run this morning (don't you love it when that happens?!) so had to post it on here. Really comfortable, beautiful weather (nice and cool, crisp and clear), my breathing was right, my pace was right, my rhythm was right. It was a good one. One of those where you feel you could just keep going forever.

Try to be pleased with yourself! It's such a roller coaster isn't it, going from despair to 'you know what, I ran my absolute best and I'm proud' you're bringing yourself further forward with every run, even the ones that go badly turn out to be useful Flowers

devilinmyshoes · 11/09/2016 11:58

Yay Natty! It looks like a gorgeous day for a run! I watched GNR all Envy but in truth I feel tired after yesterday.

NattyGolfJerkin · 11/09/2016 12:04

Definitely, devil. Even the crap ones are worth doing. At least you went out, it's X more miles than you would have done otherwise.

stilllearnin · 11/09/2016 12:16

Well yes, you are both right. Thinking about it, I'd had so little sleep (got off around 5am). But also at around mile 6 or 7 I noticed that my breathing was completely easy - probably easier than at mile 1 or 2! So yes, I should take the positives. Thanks!

emummy · 11/09/2016 17:04

There's always a positive somewhere stillearnin, well done.
Your run sounds lovely Natty, days like that are such a bonus.
Just done a rare afternoon run, went on a race route from last year, one that didn't go too well! But last year was in the dark, it was cold and I had a stitch and tummy troubles. Beautiful sunshine today so got to enjoy stunning scenery. No stitch but the hill at mile 13 still horrific! Went better than last year and a lovely run, 587m of climb so calves aching.

devilinmyshoes · 11/09/2016 18:10

Oh god that sounds like a lot of actual hills

LaughingM · 11/09/2016 21:25

Congrats on your half devil, it sounds lovely! Your doping comment made me laugh as well Grin.

still sorry you didn't feel good about your run and I think you're right, sometimes you have to just get through it, get home, collapse and feel sorry for yourself and then often you realise that it wasn't quite as bad as you thought?

I can add to emummy and natty thinking that today was a perfect day for running. 8 miles from me, plus 2.5 of intervals on thursday = 258.2

stilllearnin · 12/09/2016 08:32

Ha! Exactly Laughing

stilllearnin · 12/09/2016 12:21

Just a little 2.5 from me today. But very enjoyable - picking up train tickets to take ds to london tomorrow. Just dropping him off so a day in tulse hill to myself (I have 2 books to amuse myself).

emummy · 12/09/2016 18:25

Well done lastqueen! How was GNR?

lastqueenofscotland · 12/09/2016 19:46

I paced a friend to 2:05 so didn't do anything silly!
It was good fun but so hot, so many people collapsing etc Confused

cinnamongreyhound · 12/09/2016 20:43

That's why I love this thread everyone's always so nice, propping each other up when we've had a bad one and cheering you on when you've had a good one!

Run with canicross club tonight but I may as well have been on my own, way too slow for front runners and slower ones much slower than me and paired up. No running tomorrow as my middle baby is going to be 6 and we're going to an American diner after work for tea Smile 287

Enjoy the birthday tea cinnamon, happy birthday to your baby!
Mixed pace run in the woods this morning, very pleased to manage the faster speed as it was very warm. At the end of the run I joined the dog in splashing in a stream, water was lovely!

karatekimmi · 13/09/2016 21:21

Really pleased with my HM on Sunday - I was aiming for 2:11:00 (10 minute miling) and got a chip time of 2:07:39!! I was over then moon as my last couple
Of runs haven't been near that pace! I was lucky to have a club friend pace me - it's makes it so much easier, especially as I got really bad stitch in the last half mile!!

Well done to all the other runs this week!

Have a good birthday tea cinnamon

Sirzy · 14/09/2016 11:43

Slow 5k this morning as I have a 10k 'race' on Sunday so don't want to overdo it.

cinnamongreyhound · 15/09/2016 10:35

That's great karatekimmi, well done!

Well done karate great run!

Steady run in the forest today. Dh came with me, usually he goes a lot faster but today he learned the value of a steady pace when there are big hills to climb! Beautiful day.
